Sato Tales

Lola

Lovely Lola waited a long, long time to find a home to call her own. We couldn't be happier to see that her patience paid off. She is very sweet, curious and smart. She loves her doggy friends and her parents and loves outings in the snow and to the beach. Lola found her wonderful home through Midcoast Humane in Brunswick, Maine.

Frida

Frida is a snuggle bug with an amazing purr and a lovable nature. In her new home, she has a very friendly one-year-old beagle brother, who is trying to win her over. (Frida still thinks she's the boss!) Frida has three beds of her own, a cat tower, two scratching posts, and a private dining area. (No wonder she thinks she's the boss.) She is very happy with her new human parents.

Indiana

Indiana found her forever home through Save-a-Pet in Port Jefferson, NY. Her new parents saw her photo online about two weeks after they got married and knew right away that she would complete their family. Indiana is the light of their lives. She started out very nervous--as is so often the case with new adoptees--but is becoming more confident and more playful every day. A month into her new family life and her parents can't imagine their lives without her.

Pluto

Pluto was found abandoned in the woods of Bayamon, PR. Now he lives in Oxford MA, thanks to our partner the Sterling Animal Shelter. In other words, he's come a long way. Pluto has doting human parents, who love him very much and make sure he has everything he could ever want. It warms our heart!

Prince

Here's Prince (in the foreground) with his Uncle King looking on. Prince is very sweet, energetic and playful.

Cocoa

Cocoa found a wonderful home through the Monmouth County SPCA, in New Jersey, after waiting just four days. She was a pretty skinny little thing. Her ribs were actually showing...but no more! In true Sato fashion, she has nearly doubled her weight since going to her forever home. She has also become the very best of friends with her six-year-old rescued canine sibling. They never get tired of playing tug-of-war. 

Winnie

Winnie was named after Winnie the Pooh. She found her home through Lucky Dog Rescue Inc. in Centereach, NY. Her new family writes that Winnie is absolutely perfect. And she surely feels the same way about them. Winnie spends her days chasing after squeaky toys, cuddling with her peeps (napping on dad's head is a favorite!) and providing IT support.

Mocha

Mocha now lives on Long Island, NY where he shares a home with two yorkie siblings--6 and 8 lbs. His new mother's mother was born in Puerto Rico, so there seemed to be some destiny involved.  Mocha picked his mom when she visited the shelter. He went right up to her and went in for a hug. It was love at first sight. In the house, the 6 lb yorkie chases Mocha and Mocha chases the 8 lb yorkie. So there's lots of activity. 

Mago

Mago felt at home the minute he entered his new household with his lovely parents and human sisters. His family loves him. They say that his little personality has been shining through and he has been settling in very nicely. Mago has brought many smiles to everyone's faces. He is always purring and running around and playing with everyone.

Zoey

Zoey now lives on Long Island. Her new mother says that she thinks she and Zoey were meant to be together. Zoey is about as sweet as they come. There is almost always someone in her new home, so she will rarely be alone...lucky girl. She found her home through Bideawee in Wantaugh, NY.  

In Memoriam: Pirate

Pirate found her home in April 2012. She was her family's very first dog and she couldn't possibly have brought more joy into their lives. Their daughter, who was ten at the time, had put "puppy" at the top of her Christmas list for several years. Their son, who was 13 then, had had a bad experience with an aggressive dog and wasn't sure he was on board with this plan. The husband hadn't grown up with dogs and didn't really want one.

But Pirate worked her magic. Her innate sweetness and tranquility won everyone over. She lived a large and happy life surrounded by love. She slept in her crate until she realized how soft the sofa was. She liked to spend her days sunbathing in her special spot on the terrace and visiting her many canine friends in the neighborhood. She loved car rides and visits to her grandparents. 

Pirate sadly passed away in October 2023. Her family is disconsolate without her.  They believe it's very important that Pirata's remains return to Puerto Rico, the place where she learned to love the sun. They plan to scatter some of her ashes in the Condado Pet Park in San Juan. Her memory will be cherished for having brought so much love into the family.

Bogan

Bogen is thoroughly enjoying her golden years. At age 15, she has had to make a few adjustments. Her dad built her a ramp to go down since it was hard for her to see well enough to navigate the steps. (She also has three legs!) He also got her a wagon to take her around town, which she loves. Bogen remains a wonderful personality. She found her extraordinary home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA.

Malu

Malu lives in the beautiful coastal town of Gloucester, MA thanks to our partner Cape Ann Animal Aid. She is already much beloved by her new family, who say she is a lovely sweet bundle of joy. 

Alba

Alba is quickly learning her way around the kitchen! She found a wonderful home with people who fell in love with her instantly. She has a new feline sibling who is very chill and loves cuddles. Alba's new family assures us that they will give her all the love, snuggles and toys she could ever want.

Skye

Skye (on the left) is doing amazing. She has a loving home with a canine brother and a big backyard. She is also extremely smart--she has learned all sorts of tricks. Skye has a real joie de vivre, loves dressing up and celebrating holidays and every happy moment in her wonderful new life. Skye found her home through New Spirit 4 Aussie Rescue.

Estrella

Estrella went to her forever home just before Christmas and she immediately made herself comfortable in her new family.  She’s a confident girl and has loved playing with her three new human siblings and her neighbor's 7-year-old Australian shepherd. Estrella found her home through Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, MA.

Bindi

Bindi found her home through the SPCA in Lakeland, FL in March of 2022 and could not be happier! Her mom says that Bindi is the most perfect girl for her new family. She loves to swim, cuddle, and play with her furry friends. She is a loyal and protective dog who has changed their lives for the better.

Diego

Diego found a lovely home through Save A Pet in Port Jefferson Station, NY. He’s very happy in his new life and such a sweetheart! 

Monika

Monika found her wonderful new home just in time for the holidays, thanks to the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. She instantly stole the hearts of her new parents. She even has two Sato sisters, 10 and 6 years old, also from the Sterling Shelter. So, it's quite the family! Monika adapted right away and is loving her new life. She has her own basket of toys and she loves to take them all out and relocate them to her bed, but then there is no room for her to sleep! Fortunately, she's happy to crawl into an available lap for nap time.

Vida

Vida (on the left) has a wonderful new life with her chihuahua mix sibling/BFF and her lovely new mom. She found her home through the SPCA in Lakeland, Florida. Vida is an absolute sweetheart, as you can probably tell. She couldn't possibly be happier. Her favorite activities include taking rides in her stroller, wearing seasonal outfits, cuddling under a blanket and going on road trips.

Mia

Mia found her home in November of 2019 through Tall Tails Beagle Rescue in Freeport, Maine. (She also goes by Mia Mia, Little One, Littlest, and Princesa.) Her new family have loved her from the moment they set eyes on her. She is a loving, affectionate pup--and also a tripod. But that doesn't slow her down one bit. She runs so fast that hardly anyone realizes she is only using three legs. Mia loves the snow, water puddles, mud, treats and getting under the covers to snuggle.  

Maximus

You can probably tell that Maximus is one happy dog. This sweet guy loves his human siblings, his nice home, his comfy couch, good food and play time. Most of all, he knows he is loved and he gives love. He has come a long, long way. He was found limping along the highway after being hit by a car. We got him to an orthopedist who helped him recover, but then he was diagnosed with heartworm. Through it all, he was positive and appreciative, almost as if he knew something better was waiting for him. And now, thanks to our partner Humane Society of Tampa Bay, he has the perfect family.  

Juniper

Juniper was adopted the day before Thanksgiving and had turkey for dinner that very same night! She is well loved and cared for and fit into her new home perfectly. She now has comfy spots for napping, plenty of toys and lots of treats and playmates. She found her home through Save a Pet in Port Jefferson Station, NY. 

Chip

Chip found a great home through SPCA Florida of Lakeland. (That's him on the right taking a snooze with his sibling.) Chip is in obedience training and learning all sorts of tricks. His family loves him very much. 

Mia

Mia's new dad is a serial Sato adopter. We LOVE that!  He found his first one at the Humane Society in Naples, FL and Mia came to him through the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Mia is sweet and gentle and extremely intelligent and observant. She likes to sit on the couch and watch entire TV shows, especially if they are about dogs. 

Shoshie

Beautiful Shoshie was saved from the streets where she was really suffering. She found an amazing home through our partner Cape Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA and has put her sad past well behind her. She had a lovely life in Maine, but recently moved to the California desert where she can curl up on a lounge chair under a canopy of bougainvillea blossoms. She even has two boyfriends!

Gabbi

Gabbi has changed the life of her new mom entirely. The two are totally inseparable. They go to the beach, take boat and car rides, mingle with friends, eat out at restaurants, you name it and they are doing it together. Gabbi's mom says that this little Sato has helped her fall in love with life. Who can be lonely or sad when your BFF is with you and every day brings a new adventure??? 

Vivi

Vivi arrived in Mass at the beginning of summer 2023 and found a wonderful home with a sister Sato named Lola. (That's Vivi on the left.) The two pups have a lot to talk about and share. Lola came through us in 2018. Both went to the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA.

Hook

Hook has been part of his forever home for the last ten years! His family says he is the BEST dog ever! He found his wonderful home through our partner Carribean Puppy Connection in Marshfield, MA. 

Bailey

Bailey found his home through the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. His new parents say that he has a wonderful personality. He has adjusted well to his new home and has many years of adventures ahead of him. His new parents are dedicated animal lovers. 

Andrew/Sato

Andrew was adopted from SPCA Florida in Lakeland, FL three years ago. His new parents renamed him Sato in honor of our organization! Sato sadly passed away last year as a result of an infection, leaving his family devastated. Even though his time in his forever home was limited, it was the very best of times for this lucky pup. He was with people who adored him, he was able to play and chill and nap in a beautiful home, and he had outfits for all ocasions. 

Archie

One day last July, Archie had a visitor at the SPCA Florida in Lakeland, FL. This person wasn't intending to stop at the shelter and certainly wasn't intending to adopt, and yet, when she laid eyes on Archie, she knew she had to take him home. Archie is a sweet, gentle senior boy who waited a long, long time for this chance. You can tell he is making the most of his new life! Archie is an absolutely wonderful dog, who loves meeting new people and is adjusting well to his new life. 

Trouble

Trouble now lives in the beautiful hill towns of Massachusetts. He goes for walks every day with his new mom and loves the woods, where he can dig for voles. Trouble has a reputation for mischief. He loves to chew!! Trouble found his wonderful home through the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. 

Frodo

Frodo found a great home through our partner the Humane Society of Ocean City. Now he has comfy beds and sofas to nap on, lots of toys to play with, and a forever BFF. We are so happy for him!

Lisboa

Lisboa is about two weeks into her wonderful new life. She has stolen the hearts of her parents. She is great with other dogs and has become BFFs with the other dog in the family.

Odin

Odin is doing great in his forever home. His new mom works from home three days a week, so they spend lots of time together. He lives in a rural area with a yard and a huge field nearby where he can run and play. Sometimes he visits one of the local off-leash dog parks, where he has many new friends. Odin is a sweet boy and everyone loves him. He found his home through Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. 

Oliver

Oliver loves his new home, his new canine brother, and his new big backyard. He's also enjoying road trips. His new family adores him right back. Oliver is a big cuddler with a passion for playtime. He found his home through Midcoast Humane Society in Brunswick, Maine. 

Nala

Nala (on the left) is the perfect fit in her new family. She loves both her new canine sibling Rex and her four-year-old human brother. It took her no time at all to adjust to her wonderful new life, which includes a beautiful yard and TV time on the couch. She sleeps curled up next to her new mom every night. Nala found her home through the SPCA Florida in Lakeland.

Auryn

Auryn is doing great! Her new family loves her and she has adjusted so well being adopted from Save-A-Pet in New York. She’s almost doubled in size and has even learned a few tricks. She is a very happy doggie. 

Hunter

Hunter is all settled into his new family, which includes two big canine siblings. (That's him in the middle.) His parents say that Hunter is keeping everyone on their toes--no one is getting much rest these days, but they sure are having fun. 

Pepper

Pepper is adapting very quickly to her new environment. She loves nature and sticks! And ice cream! Pepper found her wonderful new home through SPCA Florida in Lakeland, Florida.

Chiquita

Chiquita lives on a vineyard near Niagara Falls with her two feline sisters.  The three cats have a great time running around the house, chasing each other and playing. Sometimes Chiquita likes to hang out with her dad when he's typing on the computer so she can proofread.  In fact, all three cats are eager to help with typing and their dad is very appreciative of their assistance.  Chiquita also has a human brother, who loves animals and is always picking her up and petting her. Her favorite time though is in the evening, when everyone watches TV.   She likes to stretch out with her head on Mom's lap and the rest of her body on Dad's lap.  That way they can both pet her at the same time.    

Sly

Sly's new dad says that this sato is the biggest blessing in his life. That makes us so happy! Judging from this photo, the feeling is mutual. Sly found his home through SPCA Florida in Lakeland. When Sly first met his new parents in the shelter, he made a point of listening to them to understand exactly what they were looking for in their forever companion. Turns out, they were looking for him!

Loki

Loki found his home through Ten Lives Club cat rescue. He is doing great in his new family with brother Merlin and sister Lilly. 

Jace

Jace found a wonderful home through our partner Joyful Rescues. He now lives close to Niagara Falls, so he may have lots of sightseeing in his future. He is settling in well and very happy to have so much love. His new parents had recently lost their previous dog to cancer, and Jace is doing a great job of lifting their spirits. 

Otto

Otto found a wonderful home in Worcester, MA, thanks to our partner the Sterling Animal Shelter. Otto is a great little guy, and he's having a blast with his new canine sibling. They play all the time and get along really well. Even the two cats feel comfortable around him. He's a real mellow dude! Otto has a lot of fun in store for him. His new dad is retired and likes to hang out with his pets as much as possible. Otto now has a fenced in backyard that he can access whenever he wants. He's also going to be going on lots of neighborhood walks and hikes. 

Linus

Linus is living in a loving home in Buffalo, NY with lots of toys and his BFF/human sister Julia, whom he adores. In fact, he loves to follow her wherever she goes in the house. Julia and her mother recently experienced the death of their beloved 16-year-old cat, so Linus has an important role to play. He is helping them get over their grief and feel happy again. Linus found his wonderful home through our partner Ten Lives Club.

Lobo

Lobo's new mom had spent almost a year looking everywhere for her canine soulmate. Lobo let her know right away that her search was over! He climbed into his mom's lap and sealed the deal. Now the two are inseparable. Lobo is the most caring, sweetest, cuddliest and obedient dog  his mom has ever met. He has stolen her heart completely. The two have been going on lovely hikes and plan an outing to the beach, among their many wonderful adventures. Lobo found his home in Maryland, thanks to our partner New Spirit 4 Aussie Rescue. 

Aldo

Aldo went from the streets of Puerto Rico to the glorious mountains of New Hampshire, thanks to our partner New England Lab Rescue. He has two human brothers in his new home and a canine brother Riggs, who is a retired police K9. Aldo loves them all. They have so many adventures ahead of them--swims in the lake, hikes, zoomies in the yard, chasing tennis balls, making snow angels, etc., etc. We can't wait to hear about every one!

Franco

Franco found a home in New York through Last Hope Animal Shelter. He now lives with a wonderful family, including his four-year-old human sister with whom he has a very special relationship. The two do everything together. Franco sleeps in her bed every night and meows for his sister by the door when she goes to school. Funny thing--her name is Francesca! ?They were clearly meant to be together. 

Juana

Juana is thriving in her wonderful new home in Portland Maine. She was adopted from the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland where she arrived in May with her sister. Juana is a good dog and very sweet. 

Dany

Daenerys--Dany for short--found her home through Save A Pet Animal Rescue in New York a few weeks ago. She enjoys running around her new apartment, terrorizing her older feline brother Ollie, and cuddling with her mom and dad. Her parents say she won their hearts instantly.

Poppy Love

Poppy Love has eyebrows shaped like hearts, which totally reflect her sweet and caring personality. Poppy runs like the wind around her big backyard and then goes next door to lounge at her neighbor's pool.  She has so many accomplishments. She has been in training since July 2022 and absolutely loves it.  She gets to play with her friends and she loves to learn.  She is a "giver."  She has completed beginner, intermediate, good canine citizen, good canine citizen advanced and most recently, good canine citizen urban. Poppy has 5 certificates and 3 AKC titles! 

Tucker

Tucker is a special pup. As a larger dog, he had fewer options sadly because so many people want puppies or small adult dogs. But our dear friends at Midcoast Humane in Brunswick, Maine were happy to accept him and we're so glad they did. He found a great home, where he is treasured. He gets to hang out with his new mom most of the time, since she works from home. And he goes with her to visit his grandfather, which is a special event every week.  He has his own comfy bed and his own backyard, and he gets lots of good fresh air on his many walks every day.

Stevie

Stevie (on the right) loves her new home, which she found thanks to the Humane Society of Ocean City in NJ.She is the biggest snuggle bug and is obsessed with her big brother Reef. You can tell by the way she looks at him. Her new family loves her.

Oliver

Oliver (on the sofa) is thriving in his new home. He LOVES his big brother, who so kindly lets Oliver have the most comfortable resting spots. Oliver's new dad says that Oliver has become a great--and funny--family member.

Honey

Honey has been in her forever home now for about seven years. She is obviously very happy, living the good life in Florida. Her mom says that Honey is the best dog she's ever had. 

Bowie

Bowie was adopted into a family of cat lovers in New York. He joins two feline siblings and two human siblings. His lovely and unique eyes inspired them to name him after the musician David Bowie. Bowie the cat likes a lot of attention and love, which his family is happy to give. He gives it right back! 

Enzo

Enzo loves his wonderful new life in North Berwick, Maine. It turns out he thrives in cold weather, which is fortunate all around. In addition to being able to romp in the snow whenever he wants, he lives just down the street from his sato sister! They both flew up together thanks to a kind couple, who escorted them back from Puerto Rico. The couple ended up adopting Enzo's sister Rita. Now these two siblings have many playdates in their future.

R2

R2's name has much significance in his new family. His mom is a big Star Wars fan, so there's that. And his dad wanted a way to memorialize his childhood dog whose name was Raggs. R2 is thriving in his new home state of Maine. He doesn't seem to miss the tropics at all. He's just so happy to be able to play in the snow. R2 found his home through Midcoast Humane in Brunswick. 

Rita

Sometimes visitors to Puerto Rico reach out to us to offer to personally escort one of our puppies back to the US mainland to go to one of our shelter partners. We always appreciate these offers. Rita was one of those lucky pups--and she ended up getting much more than a lift to Boston. She got a forever home! The couple who escorted her fell in love with her. What could be better than that? Now Rita has new canine and feline siblings, a beautiful view out her new window in Maine and plenty of places to walk, hike, and snuggle.

Mookie

Mookie adjusted very quickly to his wonderful new home--even though one of his new feline siblings is about twice his size! Mookie has lots of energy and just loves everyone he meets, kids, adults and other animals as well. He loves to play and cuddle with the cats, especially the one who came from Puerto Rico. He has experienced freezing cold temperatures and snow storms, but he stays warm in his new jacket. And, like a true Sato, he loves to seek out a spot in the sunshine for a good nap. 

Lacey

Here's Lacey (on the left) with her new older brother Danny. He is is showing her the ropes in her wonderful new home where she is much loved. 

Gigi

Gigi found a spectacular home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. She has beautiful warm clothes and blankets to keep her toasty in the cold New England winter--so she doesn't even miss the tropics!

Ty

Ty was found with his siblings as very young puppies in the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona. It's amazing they survived...Ty is now thriving in Mass where, like so many of our tropical pups, he is an expert at seeking out the sun for a nice warm nap.

Beba

Beba was rescued with her six babies. She was such a great mother, taking care of each one and encouraging them on their way to new lives as they left Puerto Rico and found loving homes. Finally, it was her turn. She found a wonderful family through the Humane Society of Ocean City in NJ. She now has a 13 year old sister and an 11 year old brother, with whom she enjoys taking power naps. And she has humans to love her. 

Bashful

Adorable Bashful, from our seven dwarves litter, found his new home through the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland in Maine. He is already much loved.

Penelope Guadalupe

Penelope Guadalupe is a funny and sassy girl, who is much loved by her new parents.  She found her home through Save a Pet in Port Jefferson, NY.

She goes by Penny for short. She's healthy, happy and doing well in her new home where she has an older brother named Xedo. He is doing his best to get used to his sassy new sis. 

Valery

Here's Valery getting used to a staircase, which is something she didn't come across in Puerto Rico. She is the sweetest, cutest little girl, who found a loving home through our friends at Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, Mass.

Snoopy

Snoopy has a very busy schedule these days. He divides his mornings between chewing on the toys in his expansive collection and snuggling. Then, he spends most every minute of every afternoon playing with his new canine brother/BFF Bolt. At night, he likes to sleep right next to his new mom. Snoopy is working on his comfort in the car, so he will be able to enjoy trips to the beach. Snoopy found his great new home through the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland in Portland, Maine. 

Sabanna

Sabanna was adopted about ten years ago after she was rescued with her puppies. We recently heard from Sabanna's mom, who says that this elder sata is her family's whole world!  Sabanna loves to go on adventures at the beach, in the snow, or by the lake. But mostly she likes to spend her days taking cozy naps in bed. Sometimes she'll dig herself a nice hole in the dirt outside in the backyard and take a nap there too. She is great with all of her human nieces and nephews and the whole family loves her very much. She is silly, sweet and gentle with everyone she meets--except for cats and squirrels! 

Gracie

Gracie had huge shoes to fill in her new home. She was adopted into a family that had recently lost their beloved, 16-year-old sato, Shana. Everyone was feeling the loss, especially their other dog. The family met Gracie at the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. She was pretty nervous, but really bonded with their dog. So home she went. Flash forward a week and Gracie has transformed into a sweet, snuggly, confident pup.She has  fit right into the family and really filled a spot in their hearts that was left when Shana died. 

Zoey

Zoey now lives with two other dogs, Bert and Ernie. (That's her on the far right.) All three of them found their homes through Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, MA. Zoey fits in very well with her new family.  She is sweet and a little goofy which works quite well with her canine siblings. They have a fenced-in yard to play in and there are two parks nearby for long hikes in the woods. And, of course, there's a big comfy bed for group naps. 

Kady

Kady is settling in well to her wonderful new home. She has a little separation anxiety, but having a year-old Goldendoodle sister is a big help. They spend hours playing together. Kady found her home through Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, MA. 

Hazel

Hazel was found in a forest with her five puppies.  Her pups all found great homes and it was recently Hazel's turn to find one of her own. Thanks to our friends at Midcoast Humane in Brunswick, Maine, this beautiful girl is now living a great life in New England where she is much loved by her new parents.  

Allie

Allie was on the passenger list for our first trip to our new partner, Schmitt's Animal Rescue & Haven, in Centereach, NY. This lucky girl found a great home where she is totally adored, has many friends to take cozy naps with, and has a big collection of toys. 

Greta

Lucky Greta has lots of new friends in her life. Here she is with her new mom's granddaughter--and one of her favorite people. But Greta also has two new canine friends/siblings and two new feline siblings, who aren't sure about being friends just yet. Life is pretty great. She found her home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, Mass. Her new mom saw her little face on the shelter's Instagram account and read about how Greta, who lost one eye, had been rescued after Hurricane Fiona. The rest is history.

Debbie

Debbie is both wonderful and sweet. She found a great home through Cape Ann Animal Aid and now lives in Gloucester, MA, near the beach. She is loving going for walks there and is very curious about the seagulls, seaweed and other dogs and people.

Lilli

Lilli is living an extremely full life in her wonderful new home. Her new family says that she keeps everyone smiling. She has the run of the place! She has her own comfy pet sofa and she is now on her third outfit because she outgrows them so quickly. She has an enormous toy collection that she keeps in her very own toy box. So far, she has only destroyed three of her toys and her first toy box because it had very tempting rope handles. Lilli hates to see her dad leave for work, but fortunately she has a stay-at-home furbaby mom so all is good. 

Rosita

Rosita's new family is very much in love with her. She is smart, sweet and kind. Rosita found her wonderful new home through Save a Pet in Port Jefferson, NY. 

Bruno

Bruno's new mom wrote to tell us that he is VERY loved in her home. So far, he’s learned how to walk on a leash--and it turns out that he loves going on walks. He lives in Quincy, MA, which is just outside of Boston, so there is a fair amount of stimulation with lots of people and pets. He is fine with all these noises. Such a brave boy!  He also loves to go on car rides. Bruno is a wonderful puppy and companion. He loves to cuddle on the couch with his mom. 

Fuzzy

Fuzzy is a feisty, cuddly, and super photogenic cat who found a wonderful home through our friends at Save a Pet in New York. His new mom says that he is loving his new life and she is loving him. 

Foxy

Foxy (on the right) found her home through SPCA Florida in Lakeland. She is doing well and has completed lots of training courses--though sometimes she still has moments where she wants to chew everything!  She has a lot of energy and loves to run around her yard with her sister Sadie, who she annoys constantly. When Sadie isn't feeling annoyed by her younger sis, they hold paws, as you can see here. 

Gofio

Gofio found his new home through SPCA Florida in Lakeland. He was fortunate to be adopted by a lovely woman originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico! They are having a great time together, chatting in Spanish, cooking up Puerto Rican treats, and enjoying car rides. 

Arti

When we first heard from Arti's new mom two years ago, she said that he had a healthy appetite. He was a little puppy then. Flash forward two years, and here is a very healthy 63-pound Arti loving his wonderful life. He loves being outdoors, playing fetch, taking long walks, and positioning himself for belly rubs! Arti found his home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. 

Bailey

Bailey is enjoying his golden years in his lovely home in Naples, Florida with his BFF/dad. Together they made it through hurricane Ian, hunkering down further inland. Bailey is happy and healthy. He enjoys the outdoors, meeting new people and animals, and taking walks in nature. Naps are fun too! Bailey's dad says that this Sato has greatly enhanced his life. 

Honey Mae

Honey Mae found her home through Bideawee in Manhattan. She is a loving, spunky, and sassy pup who has brought much joy into the life of her new mom. Honey Mae is now living a great life in the Big Apple. 

Kai

Kai recently celebrated his one-year birthday. Kai found his home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA . He has developed into quite a character. He enjoys looking out the door to watch bunnies play in the yard. He doesn't really like to be in the yard alone so he's learned to open the door to let himself into the house where he can find another family member. Sometimes he plays so hard that he wears himself out and falls asleep on his toys, as you can see here. He's also a talker, letting his family know exactly what he'd like--what he wants is usually a treat! 

Mocha

Mocha was alone in her cage when her new parents came to visit Save-A-Pet Animal Shelter in Port Jefferson, NY. They hadn't had a cat before but they knew that she was going home with them. Mocha now spends her days napping on the highest level of her cat tree, whacking flies out of the sky, not finishing her wet food, tracking water from her personal water fountain everywhere and stalking her new sibling, a tiny dwarf hamster, Chompy, when he comes out for food at night. In other words, she's adding a lot to the household! She is an absolute joy to behold. 

Roxy

Here is another adorable puppy rescued on the road near the Arecibo observatory. Her name is now Roxy! Please see below for an update on her sister, now known as Roxie. Roxy is another great puppy. She is smart, playful and well loved and enjoying an amazing new life far removed from her traumatic past.

Roxie

Roxie was found by the side of the road near the Arecibo observatory. Today, she is in a much better place in a lovely new home with two older canine siblings and a big back yard. Her new parents adore her. They work from home, so Roxie gets lots of quality time with her family. ?She also gets to play dress-up and experiment with interesting headwear. 

Ariel Isabela

Ariel Isabela found her wonderful home through Ten Lives Club in Buffalo, NY. She is a spunky and fun kitten who is getting lots of love and care from her new mom. In this photo, we aren't sure if she is checking out new reading material or playing hide and seek. 

Lilly

Lilly left Puerto Rico to find a great home on Long Island in New York, thanks to our partner Save a Pet.  She is a beautiful kitten who is much loved by her new family. She is very affectionate and loves to be held and petted. Lilly has a new feline sister that she loves to follow around the house. Life is good. 

Boots

Boots found his home through Save-a-Pet in New York. He is friendly and sweet and captured the heart of his new mom the second she laid eyes on him. Boots is well adjusted and trusting. He does prefer real food to the stuff that comes in a can. This lucky boy is going to be surrounded by love--and great food--for the rest of his life.

Samira

Samira now lives in a beautiful, spacious home in Florida with her own fenced-in yard. yesterday and received your letter. She has a lot of room to run and play with her new brother who is a 15 year old beagle mix--her new sister is a 6-year-old human! She recently attended a birthday party at a farm where she frolicked with a couple of chickens, a pot belly pig and some goats. All that excitement wore her out, so she relaxed in her dog stroller.

Luna

Luna is the sweetest dog ever, according to her new family who adopted her through Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, MA. She is so smart and catches on to everything very quickly. Luna now lives on the campus of an art school where her dad teaches. She loves everyone she meets, greeting them with kisses. She loves car rides and walks. She has a favorite stuffed toy, which she hides in a new place every day. 

Berlin

Berlin (That's him  in front!) found his home through the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. He is a very happy and very healthy little boy. His new parents tell us that he is going to have a fantastic life and lack for nothing. He is already very much loved by both of them and by his other four legged brothers and sisters, as you can see here.

Jewels

Jewels found her home through the Sterling Animal Shelter, in Sterling, MA. She is her family's second sato. Jewels is very loving and sweet and makes a perfect addition to the family. 

George and Rooney

Brothers George and Rooney were adopted together from Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. Their new dad built them a cat tower that they are thoroughly enjoying. Their new mom says that they are wonderful little guys! They have brought much happiness and life into their new home. While they spend most of their time chasing feather toys, climbing into cardboard boxes, and exploring their new home, they also love to curl up together for nap time. 

Maize

Maize loves to sniff outside, gallops when it’s nummies time & is extremely playful with other dogs. Her new neighbor has a puppy that is 5ish weeks younger than her and they’ve become the best of friends. She also met one of her cousins - her aunt's 10-year-old King Charles Cavalier spaniel- & will be meeting  another cousin, a 3-year-old German Shepherd - soon. Maize sleeps through the night, LOVES her crate & is obsessed with her new mom! She found this amazing home through the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. 

Stevie

Stevie now lives in Boston where she gets to enjoy city offerings during the week and explore the countryside on weekends. She has lots of friends in her neighborhood and loves meeting up with them to catch tennis balls in her favorite park. She also indulges her passion for retail by visiting the local stores where she charms everyone she meets! Come Saturday, she's off to the beach or enjoying a hike. Stevie's mom says that it's hard to imagine life without this special Sata in it. 

Banjo

Banjo is living a wonderful life with his new family and BFF/brother. Right now, he is on vacation at his grandparents' beach house where he can swim and play in the ocean. This lucky pup found his family through the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA.  

Mandolin

Mandolin is Banjo's sister and Mandolin's father is Banjo's mother's brother. How fun is that? The two sibling pups get together often and love playing--so do their sibling parents! 

Flower and Isabel

Flower and Isabel have human sisters who rush home from school every day to see them. Sometimes the kids and cats do homework together, or play or nap. Whatever they decide to do, it's always fun. The cats have new canine siblings, who have also been very welcoming. These lucky kittens found their wonderful home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. 

Gabriel

Gabriel is celebrating his one year "gotcha day" anniversary in his favorite position--that would be crawling up behind his person on the sofa so he can rest his chin on their shoulder. This lucky boy also loves to chase his ball and play tug-of-war with his rubber bone. He sleeps in bed with his parents every night and gets plenty of quality napping time on his personal array of cushions, comfy chairs, and soft shoulders.

Waffles

Waffles found his home through our partner the Little Shelter in Huntington, NY.  He's now living a great life in New York City. 

Roxymar

Roxymar was rescued, along with her seven babies, near a busy street. The whole family then made its way to our partner One Love Dog Rescue in Smithtown, NY. Roxy found a wonderful home very quickly. She is super sweet and friendly, and gets along great with her new canine sibling and human siblings. She also turns out to be a great copilot on road trips. 

Hazel

Hazel found her forever home on April Fools' Day, thanks to Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. Her new family loves her very much. Hazel has added lots of joy to the household. She enjoys playing and snuggling with everyone, especially her two kid siblings (ages 12 and 7). In fact, here in this photo, she is waiting patiently for them to get off the school bus. 

Bonnie

Bonnie’s favorite pastime is eating! But she also enjoys napping, playing with her toys, watching the pigeons, and being in the arms of her new dad. She is also starting to explore the big city as spring unfolds. She is a sweet, crazy girl, who has quickly become a beloved family member. Bonnie found her home through Bideawee in Manhattan.

Hashbrown

Hashbrown (one of the best names ever!) found his forever family at the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA a little over two years ago. They knew he was the one the moment they heard he was from Puerto Rico. (Of course, the fact that he immediately rolled on his back so they could rub his belly also helped!) His new mom was born in PR and his grandparents are Puerto Rican. Hashbrown gives her a joyous connection to the island. During the long shutdown, the whole family bonded. Hashbrown spoiled everyone with sato kisses and gave them many reasons to laugh and smile. 

Nala

This beautiful girl is Nala. She found her perfect home through Save A Pet in New York. She now has three lovely human sisters with whom she loves to play and cuddle. Nala is very loving and sweet and she has a goofy personality. She is her mom's little shadow, following her everywhere, and she loves curling up in the many laps now available to her.

Harper

Harper was adopted through Bidewawee in Manhattan, where his dad, who is a vet!, helps out on spay-neuter surgeries and does rounds. Harper's dad says he feels that they both won the lottery with this placement--he did because Harper is one of the sweetest, most gentle, playful adorable pup's in the universe. And Harper, because he will get the best personal healthcare possible and lives in a building and neighborhood that is full of dogs, so he has tons of playmates. It certainly sounds like heaven to us. 

Kira

Kira (on the right) found her forever home through the Humane Society in Naples, Florida, but she now calls Knoxville, TN her home. Kira's distinctive markings really spoke to her new parents. Her mom says that Kira's photo melted her heart. Kira was a little reserved at first--who can blame her after that long, noisy trip??!--but now she is very vocal and keeps her bigger Malinois brother, Sarge, (also a rescue...yeah!!) right in line. Kira loves to wade in the water and is thinking about taking the next step to start swimming. Hiking is one of her favorite activities and she is really enjoying the lovely trails around Knoxville. 

Poppy

Poppy is so loved. She is a very good girl. Her parents were worried because their previous rescue dog, who was absolutely amazing, passed away a few months ago. They didn't know if they would ever find another pup who could fill her shoes. But Poppy is doing just that. She is the perfect dog for their family. She is so gentle and ready to please.  She will have an amazing long life. 

Milo

Milo was a bit unsure of himself in his new home, but fortunately his new mom was very patient and encouraging with him. And now he's doing great. He is very spoiled and very loved. He has lots of dog and cat friends and many fun places to explore and toys to play with. 

Pocho

Pocho found a great home through our friends at Bideawee, Inc. in Manhattan. He is doing super well. He's 200% confortable with his new family and house. And he LOVES his human siblings, aged 8, 10 and 12. They play and nap and cuddle together all the time. He likes to stick close to them, just in case someone drops a snack. He has very comfy bed and lots of toys. Life is good! 

Max

Max found an amazing home through the Humane Society in Naples, FL. This handsome guy now has a very full life that includes runs on the beach with his dog pals, refreshing swims, and lovely boat outings in the harbor. His mom says that he is amazing and wonderful. In fact, she calls him the "best dog in the world!" Max goes everywhere with his mom and his new canine sibling, with whom he is very close. 

Papi

Papi (on the left) had a long trip to reach the lovely people at For The Love of Dog Rottweiler rescue in NH. First he flew to Miami and then he was picked up in a van and driven north. It took a long time, but it was so worth it! He found a wonderful home where he can lounge around and catch some rays with new sister Blanca. They also like to nap together on the couch and on the bed. 

Mandy

Mandy came into our program after we rescued her mother, who had been hit by a car and needed help. Much to our surprise, the mom turned out to be pregnant with four puppies. Lucky Mandy was accepted by our partner For the Love of Dog Rottweiler Rescue and found a wonderful home. These days she has her own outdoor deck, a beautiful yard, and two feline sisters. She also gets to go to doggie daycare three days a week where she is a social butterfly, running around and playing with all the dogs, no matter their size.

Sima

Sima traveled a long way to reach her wonderful new home in the beautiful state of Vermont. She flew to Miami and then traveled overland to NH, where she went to our friends at New England Lab Rescue. This girl from the tropics actually enjoys the snow and LOVES the mud!! Her new mom says that she is an absolute sweetheart. We are so happy for Sima.

Harley

Harley found a great home through Caribbean Connection in Hanson, MA.  She is learning to walk on a leash and enjoying the many opportunities for cuddling. She also has lots of toys to play with and a couch that gives her a nice vantage point to keep an eye on things. This playful, energetic pup is a great addition to her new family. 

Chichi Waddles

Chichi Waddles found her wonderful home through a special program at SAVE Shelter in Tomsriver, NJ that places our senior Satos. She really hit the jackpot. She may be 8 or 9 years old, but she is totally game to face new things in life--like cold weather. She has grown a thick fur coat and loves napping in her comfy bed. Her new mom tried speaking Spanish with her in the beginning, but thinks Chichi may have a hearing issue...so now they use hand signals and a piece of bacon.

Dexter

It’s been just over a month since Dexter joined his new family.  He and his parents are working out a few things right now--they are trying to figure out how to give him enough exercise and they are encouraging him to figure out how to give them enough sleep! Dexter is thriving in his new life. He has gained about one pound a week since coming home. In addition to eating, Dexter loves to snuggle in a comfy chair, patrol his nice yard and monitor squirrel activity from his post on the couch.

Zumaya

Zumaya has happily traded in the tropics for a large leafy yard in NJ and a stylish sweater. She found a wonderful home through the Ocean City Humane Society, where her new mom works. Zumaya was pretty shy at the shelter, but she and her mom fell totally in love and the rest is history. Now Zumaya gets to hang out with her feline siblings and her seven-year-old Sato sibling. And she can be with her mom all the time.

Paris

Paris found his home through our shelter partner, Bideawee, Inc. His new mom wrote to tell us that she is absolutely in love! Paris is the sweetest dog ever and she is thrilled to have him in her life. We LOVE hearing that...

Figaro

Figaro, aka Figgie, is loving his new home in Dorchester, Massachusetts. He has seamlessly adjusted to living with his parents, Danny and Donna, and two older doggie brothers, Chino and Goose. Figaro loves exploring his new surroundings, going for walks around the city and the beach and especially loves running around the dog park. He loves chasing after Goose and playing  with bones and chew toys while Chino watches from the sidelines. When not out and about, “Figgie” has become quite the love bug. He loves cuddling up under a blanket with his Mommy and especially loves sitting on the couch watching New York Yankee baseball games with his Dad. Figgie has already brought much joy and happiness to his family and they look forward to a life of new experiences, loving and growing with him.

Deeks

Deeks and his new dad have been together now for almost a year since first meeting at Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. They have become the very best of friends. Deeks is a very sweet and friendly pup. He loves people, loves playing with his toys (his toy box is getting full!), and doing zoomies around the yard. Deeks had some big shoes to fill. His dad's previous canine BFF, Harley, passed away at age 13, leaving a very painful void. Deeks has filled it so beautifully that his dad thinks Harley had a hand in bringing them together. We love that idea!

Coco

Coco is becoming more relaxed and confident in his new surroundings with each passing day. He is playful and affectionate with his new parents and the extended family and friends that he is meeting.  He can’t seem to make up his mind which is his favorite activity, playing or cuddling. He also loves being brushed. Coco found his wonderful new home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA.

Shoshie

Shoshie, short for Shoshana, now lives in Maine with her two Havanese brothers, Prince and Teddy. She and Prince play all the time. She seems to have brought health and youthfulness back into Prince's life, which is a great thing because he is almost ten years old and has a serious heart condition. Teddy doesn't quite know what to make of her yet! Shoshie's new parents work from home, so she has lots of company all day. She really hit the jackpot in her new home, which she found through our partner Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA.

Paco Pollito

Paco Pollito found his home on the last day of the year through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. He is such a sweet, happy and smart little doggie. He is doing very well in his new life and he doesn’t seem to mind the snow too much. He has a big yard to run and play in and loves playing with his new toys. His parents had lost their previous 13-year-old sato in the fall and they were heartbroken. When they saw Pollito, they knew he was meant to be a member of their family. He is bringing them joy and happiness and they plan to give him the best life. 

Enrico

Enrico is living a great life in Nashville, TN. He went to a shelter there in the wake of Hurricane Maria. He loves it! He has his own patio, fenced-in yard, and couch with comfy cushions. He gets to go on fun walks AND he is quite the adventurer. He and his parents travel all over the country. He loves the car and he loves the snow. Here he is riding shotgun. We are so happy for this guy. 

Loki

Loki's parents say they were in love with her the minute they saw her. She now lives with them in an apartment that is full of toys, bells, balls, and scratching posts. She loves to have  lots of treats and is very cuddly. She sleeps every night in bed with her parents and cuddles with them on the couch. She is such a happy addition to the family. 

Lucky

Lucky found his home through Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, MA. His new mom is crazy about him. She says he is funny, cute, and super busy all the time. He loves his new canine sibling and he is very good at striking a pose!

Storm

Beautiful Storm found her home through Little Shelter Rescue and Adoption Center in Huntington, NY in 2019. We recently heard from her new mom who says that Storm brings lots of joy to her new family. She is the PERFECT dog and they thank their lucky stars every day that she's in their family.  Storm was rescued with her siblings from a dangerous situation where her life was in danger. We are all so thrilled that she has this new life after all she has been through.

Carla

Carla (on the right with BFF Lola) is the sweetest, most amazing dog! And she has found a wonderful home in Melrose, MA with her parents and two human siblings. Her mom is home all day so Carla always has company. She also has a canine sister (another rescue!) named Lola, whom she loves and follows everywhere. Carla has a big backyard to play in and goes to the dog park for lots of walks. She and Lola get to sleep in bed with mom and dad. Carla found her amazing home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA.

Gizmo

Gizmo is doing well in his new family. He is loving his daily walks and play sessions chasing his toys. His canine and feline siblings are slowly getting used to him and he is trying his best to make friends! He is so sweet and already much loved by his new family. Gizmo was found with a collar embedded in his neck and had a deep laceration. We are so glad he will always be safe from now on. 

Pepe

Pepe has been in his wonderful home for two years now.  He is his mom's BFF. She says she wouldn't know what to do without him. This special boy is one of his rescuer's most remembered foster cats. Pepe began dropping by her house looking for food. Over time, he came more and more often, came closer and stayed longer. And then one day, the miracle happened. He stayed for good! He must have sensed that good things would happen if he stayed with our rescuer and sure enough they did!

Rico

Rico was found by one of our volunteers after he had been hit by a car. Fortunately, he wasn't badly hurt. He has put all that behind him though. He now lives with his dad, with whom he is super bonded. They are great company for one another. Rico is a wonderful dog, who is much loved in his new home, which he found through Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, MA.  

Chula

Chula loves sitting in the sun or under the Christmas tree. Her mom says that she doesn't know how she would have survived the pandemic without this little cutie. Chula keeps her mom busy and lifts her spirits. Chula found her home through Bideawee, Inc. in New York City. 

Petunia

Petunia loves people and playing with other dogs. She can also do some good tricks, like giving high fives. She has her very own backyard, where she likes to help with landscaping by digging holes. 

Chasta

Adopted from the Little Shelter in Huntington, NY, Chasta is very happy in her new home. She is so sweet and she loves her new feline sibling.? 

Kai

Kai found his home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, Mass. His new family spent some time getting to know him at the shelter and quickly fell in love. He has settled into his new home quite well. Kai likes his new bed and toys. He loves taking a walk around the neighborhood and running around the yard, but is finding adjusting to the cold New England weather a challenge. Fortunately, he has a new coat to keep him warm. He is very smart and is learning commands.  Kai travels well so he will be going on many adventures. Everyone that meets Kai comments that he is ridiculously adorable and affectionate. 

Venus

Venus has had about ten days in her forever home, which is in Danvers, Massachusetts. She's doing awesome!  Her new family loves her and she brings them many good laughs. She has been going on nature walks and meeting other dogs and even some farm animals. She doesn't really like the car yet, but she is going on small drives to get used to it and sometimes she just sits in the car and looks out the window at her wonderful new neighborhood. Venus's new mom works from home, which means this pup is almost never alone. 

Cindy

We heard from Cindy's new mom that this sweet pup is embracing the comfort of sleeping on the bed. And here's the proof! Cindy found her home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester MA. She is an incredibly sweet and giving dog who is settling in nicely. 

Akala

Akala found his new home through the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA.  He is such a sweet boy! He is growing quickly and thoroughly enjoying his new life.

Basmair

Basmair found her home through the Gulf Coast Humane Society in Fort Myers, FL. She is a beautiful and sweet pup, who arrived with her four brothers and sisters to begin her new life. She is loving having a home and being a member of the family.  

Kodak

Kodak had a rough start to life because this poor guy contracted heartworms. The treatment takes time and requires the dog to be isolated and quiet. That is tough for a puppy who is learning about the world. But Kodak was very lucky. First, our dear partner, Humane Society of Naples, Florida accepted him and then he was adopted by a very patient, kind couple. They nursed him through treatment and helped him learn to enjoy life. Now he is the sweetest, most energetic and most importantly the happiest dog ever! His very best friend is his 3-year-old feline silbing with whom he plays ALL day. 

Spruce

Spruce was adopted from the Cape Ann Animal Aid 5 years ago. Spruce lives with her family and her adopted sister, Stela in Gloucester, MA. She has a BIG personality--she sits on the window sill of her mom's office analyzing chipmunks and demanding daily head scratches. She also serves as co-pilot for her dad's truck center console, and she can out-run the big dogs at the beach. She is a complete joy. 

Coco Mia

Coco Mia found her new home through Cape Ann Animal Aid Shelter in Gloucester, MA, where she arrived with her three siblings. That's where two human children fell in love with her immediately! And the whole family is beyond grateful to have such a beautiful rescue pup full of love. 

Tomten

Hola my name is TOMTEN because a tomten is a northern gnome charged with the protection and welfare of his homestead.  I am a bit mischievous as my name suggests, and a very busy fellow exploring my new home in Maine. I love walking in the woods and going to the ocean. I love making new friends. It is colder here but I also love snuggling under the blanket! 

Weyoun

Weyoun's rescue dates back to the dark days after Hurricane Maria. He made it to the mainland and even found a home, but was sadly returned after his first owners discovered that he had idiopathic epilepsy. Lucky for him, he went into a medical foster home where his parents fell totally in love with him and officially made him part of their family. Since then, he has accomplished a lot. A serious student, he graduated from Ruffgers University and also attained his Advanced Canine Good Citizenship Award.  In his off-time, he competes in agility, dock-diving, and competitive running events. He has even run a race that traversed the continental US. He is an accomplished boater and a certified Bark Ranger.  Nothing--including eplileptic seizures--can keep him down!

Patches

Patches is a happy, fun dog who found the perfect family to appreciate his great personality. This fantastic boy is dearly loved by his new family. He enjoys playing outside, going for walks, going to the park and lounging around when he’s tired. He has three children to play with and they all wear each other out running around. He’s a great family pup and is always happy. Patches found his amazing home through the Humane Society in Naples, Florida. 

Ava

Ava was adopted by a wonderful lady and her daughter in Lockport, New York, USA. She is loved and well cared for.  She lives her life in a spacious home, safe indoors always!  

Nina

Nina found a wonderful home through our partner the Humane Society of Naples, Florida. She is doing very well and has made herself quite at home!   She is very affectionate and loves going on walks and for car rides.  When she first heard the TV, she barked and growled at it, but now she is tuning in regularly to Animal Planet. She is a real sweetheart. Her new dad thinks she may have English Pointer ancestors because of the way she poses when she gets wind of something! 

Sabrina

Sabrina is now well adjusted in her new home in Florida enjoying bunny chases on the golf course as well as squirrel chases up a palm tree.  At first she was hesitant to embark on new adventures, but now she can't wait to go out for walks so she can say hi to her many friends. Everyone remarks on how pretty she is. Sabrina does love her belly rubs and gives lots of kisses. She also enjoys her dog bed and her seat on the couch, right next to her parents. Sabrina is a special rescue because she was saved by the daughter and grandson of our very own founder and president, Edilia Vazquez. It's nice to see the tradition continue through the generations. 

Paquito

Paquito now lives in Lubec, Maine - a Downeast small town that is the furthest east of any town in the continental USA. He loves it! He has a big field to play in and is living with a couple who dotes on him. He has already been to several social events in town and made many friends, including some with two legs and others with four. Walks on the beach are wonderful, and he even gets to pick out his favorite foods. 

Leidi

Leidi's new mom says that this sato is the sweetest dog she has ever met! Leidi's parents went to the adoption center looking for a smaller dog, but when they saw her, it was clear that she wanted to meet them. The time spent getting to know one another at the adoption center sealed the deal. Leidi is very well mannered with a great sense of fun. She loves her stuffed toys and her elephant costume. 

Mask

Mask (the cat) found a wonderful new home through Ten Lives Rescue in Buffalo, NY. He has adjusted very well. He loves to snuggle and play and is obsessed with his new canine sibling's tail. Here they are, relaxing after a long play session. 

Luna

Luna has brought much joy to the lives of her new, forever family. She is having a blast exploring New England in the summer. There are plenty of picnics, boat rides, and even fishing dates with her dad. She found her wonderful new life through the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. 

Yomi

Yomi (yellow in the front) has a lovely new home with a feline brother and two canine dog brothers. He gets along with everyone great. His parents say that he is the perfect addition! Yomi found his spectacular home through Ten Lives Club, cat rescue of Buffalo, NY.

Mia

Mia is short for Mi Amor. She has brought much joy into her new home. Her new mom says that Mia is an angel. 

Chico

Chico traveled from Puerto Rico to Northern Maine where he found a loving home. He is a sweet cat who has his own facebook page. He recently had his first taste of lobster and loved it. He has a great time hanging out with his new canine sibling Buddy. Chico found his home through Ark Animal Shelter in Cherryfield.

Bobby

Bobby was left behind in the patio of a house when his person moved. A kind neighbor started feeding him and fell in love with him. She eventually reached out to one of our volunteers to see if we could send him to one of our partners so he could find his own loving family--one that would never leave him behind! He found just that thanks to our partner Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, MA. He now has loving parents who cater to his every need. He has a yard and a beautiful house. Bobby is easy going and friendly. He loves everyone. 

Sofie

Sofie found her home through SAVE Animal Rescue in Toms River, NJ.  She is just the sweetest , most athletic little girl.  Everyone loves her !  

Venus and Serena

Venus and Serena found a home in Nashua, NH through the Humane Society. They are both spectacular cats, who are much loved by their new person.  Venus is a bit more active and social than Serena, and Serena is more affectionate and gentle. They love to wrestle and chase each other, hide in boxes, chase toys, lie in the sun, and do everything else cats love. They're still best friends, who run around the house meowing to locate each other. Nothing makes their new dad happier than getting home from work and being greeted by these two. 

Jennie

Jennie was adopted by a Puerto Rican family living in Florida and couldn't be happier. She gets to communicate in Spanish and has everything in life that she could possibly want. Her family says that they feel blessed to have her and that she loves everybody! 

Winnie

Winnie was very special to her rescuer and is now very special to her new mom, who tells us that Cindy has been an absolute joy to her life. Cindy was hit by a car in PR and underwent surgery for her injuries. Now, in her wonderful home, she is regaining muscle strength in her leg and growing stronger every day. She LOVES her feline siblings! They love her just as much. Winnie gets to go to the beach and swim and run around with other dogs. She is in heaven. Her neighbor even speaks with her in Spanish to make her feel at home. Winnie found her mom through the Humane Society in Naples, FL. 

Eli

Eli has adjusted very well and quickly to his new loving home. He has his own big yard where he can run and play all he wants. He also loves car rides and goes everywhere with his mom! He’s made a new dog friend and loves to go to the dog park. Eli is still a little shy when he first meets people but they fall in love very quickly once he opens up! Eli loves to cuddle and take naps, he watches tv but also loves being outside! He found his wonderful home through the Humane Society of Ocean City in NJ. 

Luna

Greetings from Buffalo, NY! After a long road, Luna has found her way to her forever home through Ten Lives Club. She's settled in very well. She loves sleeping on her new mom's lap and playing with her new feline sibling, Fiona. 

Tarzan

Tarzan found his forever home through S.A.V.E Animal Rescue in New Jersey and quickly became a member of the family. No one can imagine their lives without him! Tarzan is a hefty 50lbs, who can jump about 5 feet in the air! He is very active & very loving. His family is totally in love with him! 

Jake

Jake found his new home through the Animal Welfare League of Port Charlotte in Florida. He's very affectionate and well adjusted, even though he was abandoned alone as a small puppy. He's really great in all social situations and is very respectful of other puppies at different play levels. His new mom was interested in adopting a different dog when she went to the shelter. But Jake had other ideas! He chose her and won her over with his temperament and demeanor. His good looks probably didn't hurt. This handsome guy is growing fast. We think he may have had a Great Dane ancestor. 

Millie

Millie now has three kids that love her like crazy! Plus a feline sibling sister and a puppy brother. She is doing fantastic and loving life.She is a perfect blend of energy and snuggles. Millie found her home through the SPCA Florida in Lakeland. 

Winnie

Winnie traveled with her mom and siblings to our partner When the Going Gets Ruff Rescue in Biddeford, Maine. Winnie has a wonderful new home where she is making many new friends, both human and canine. 

Hondo

When one of our volunteers responded to a plea for help last year, she found 12 small puppies sequestered on a tiny balcony where they were living in filth. She immediately took them home. Two months later, we sent them to the SPCA Florida. We recently heard from the adopter of one of these pups--Hondo. He's the sweetest, smartest, most loving sato. He recently graduated from puppy class, as well as Intro to Agility class. Here he is with his diploma for mastering jumps and tunnels. We expect to hear more about this amazing dog in the future...in fact, he is going to be featured in a book about rescued pups. 

Gabriel

Gabriel now lives in a lovely apartment with his new parents. They walk the nearby trail each morning. He loves to chew and play with his ball. He follows both parents from room to room and loves to train for treats. Most of all, he loves to give hugs. Gabriel has an important job--he is helping his family heal from the loss of their beloved siberian husky just six months ago to cancer. With his loving disposition, he is working his magic. Gabriel found this special hom through the Humane Society in Naples, Florida. 

Sprout

Sprout found a wonderful home in the great state of Maine, thanks to our partner the Ark Animal Shelter. Sprout once lived in Puerto Rico with many other dogs in a small apartment. But after the roof caved in and injured his elderly owner, Sprout needed a new opportunity. We were glad to be able to help. Sprout has a very distinctive look with one brown eye and one blue eye. He was pretty rattled after all that he had been through, but his new mom has been so patient and loving that he is putting his sad past behind him. 

Grace

Grace now lives in the beautiful city of Saint Petersburg, FL. She loves to go on long walks around the neighborhood, where she can sniff everything and meet other dogs and people. She is a loving, sweet, gentle, precious angel, who is very bonded to her new mom. Fortunately for Grace, her mom is home most of the day, so the two are usually together. Grace has an important job to do--fill the canine void left by her mom's previous beloved pup, who passed away several months ago at age 18. It's a job that Grace takes very seriously and does very well! She found her wonderful home through the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. 

Minnie

Minnie found a great home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. She joins a big loving family of people and animals. She has a Sato sibling and another canine sibling all the way from Qatar. She also has three feline siblings and 6 and 9-year old human siblings. Minnie is never going to be bored or lonely. Her new mom says that dogs are spoiled in her house- they live on over an acre of land and 3/4 of it is fenced in. Sounds like heaven.

Greyson

Greyson (the black and white one) has a wonderful new home with a canine brother named Hampton. You can see that Hampton makes a great pillow. Greyson and Hampton have become BFFs. Greyson provides lots of encouragement to his brother, who has been through a lot of trauma (He was shot!) and needed a buddy to give him confidence. 

Winston

Winston loves being outside, learning new tricks, and sleeping! His tail is his number one nemesis and he enjoys going to puppy training classes to meet new friends. He even enjoys the bow ties his mom buys him; they make him look like a distinguished little gentleman! Winston found his home through the Monmouth County SPCA in Eatontown, NJ. 

Rosie

Rosie found her home through SAVE Rescue Group in Toms River, NJ. She was pretty nervous at first, but with all the love she has been getting she has blossomed into a fabulous family member. She has become confident that she is happy to show off her belly...

Kai

Kai found a great home through our partner Ten Lives Club in Blasdell, NY. He has been doing wonderfully!   

Soleil

Soleil needed a very special home where she could receive the patience, love, and understanding she needed to regain her trust in humankind. Fortunately, she found exactly that. This sweet girl had been dumped as a new mom with her two puppies along a road in PR. It was very traumatizing for her. When she arrived in the US mainland, someone adopted her, but returned her because she wasn't "friendly enough." Fortunately, her new wanted her all along....and it is a match that was meant to be. Now Soleil has a canine sister named Lilah who is showing her the ropes and she and her mom are developing a very special bond.  

Macaroni

Macaroni found a great home through our partner Little Shelter and Adoption Center in Huntington, NY. Macaroni is super chill and incredibly cute. He is becoming great friends with his new canine sibling and loves his humans too. 

Tanker

Sometimes our Satos leave Puerto Rico for lives of leisure in the U.S. mainland. Of course, they deserve to be pampered! But sometimes our pups take on new responsibilities in their new lives. That was the case with Tanker, who found a home through When the Going Gets Ruff Rescue in Biddeford, Maine. Tanker's new dad is the fire chief, which means this little Sato has some serious work to do. He has a bed right in his dad's office where he helps boost team morale and keep an eye on the comings and goings at the fire station. He also inspects his namesake truck to be sure everything is in order. We are so proud of Tanker! 

Sebastian

Sebastian now calls North Port, Florida home. He moved there in March, thanks to the Animal Welfare League of Port Charlotte. He stayed under the bed the first few days, but now he is blossoming so much that his loving, sweet self is shining through. That is most likely due to the fact that he adores his new mom. She loves him right back. He sticks to her like glue and loves giving kisses. She prepares him fresh meals...and lets him chase rabbits, which is his favorite game. 

Lissy

Lissy found her fantastic new home just two days after arriving in Maine at our partner When the Going Gets Ruff Rescue.  She is doing great. At home, she has a lot of things to say to her new family--especially when she'd like some attention! She is also super playful with her feline sister/partner in crime. Lissy takes her job as family protector very seriously and will bark fiercely when a stranger enters the house. And yes, she DOES have a distinctive smile. 

Molly

Molly is a total love bug and her family is so happy that they were able to adopt her. She is loving her new house and gaining some confidence.Molly found her new home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. 

Finley

Finley is doing super happy and doing well in hiw wonderful new home with his loving new family. He found his home through the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA.

Panda

Blue-eyed beauty Panda found her home through the Humane Society for Greater Nashua in New Hampshire. She made a pretty quick transition from life in the tropics to New England. It probably helped that she loves her new family so much. The feeling is definitely mutual.

Mika and Rau

Siblings Mika and Rau were lucky enough to receive personal escorts from San Juan all the way to Portland Maine. And, boy, can love bloom on a trip. That's exactly what happened to these two. Their escorts fell in love with them, and were first in line at the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland when they came up for adoption. Now Rau has been adopted by his escorts and Mika has been adopted by a friend of theirs. That means these two will have plenty of playdates together. Mika (the brown pup) now has a big brother who is a husky, and they'll be going on many hikes and adventures. Rau is more of a homebody, who is enjoying naps in new comfy beds surrounded by toys.

Percy

Percy is loving life in her new family. She found her home through Little Shelter Animal Rescue on Long Island. Percy's family love her. She has plenty of toys to play with and plenty of laps to sit in. 

Rocky and Jemmy

Rocky and Jemmy have grown into very sweet and happy cats, who can also be little troublemakers! Rocky's favorite activity is playing fetch with a little ball, and Jemmy loves to have her belly pet (and to sneak food from her parent's plates). They love to curl up together for naps and sometimes they just like to lie on the back of the couch, facing eachother so they can practice their wrestling moves without overly exerting themselves.

Berto

Berto found his forever home/soulmate mom through the SPCA Florida, in Lakeland. Berto is a beautiful, sweet tempered, fun dog that gets along with all people and dogs. His BFF is a beagle who lives next door. Berto's DNA results found that he is a unique mix of about 14 different breeds--that's the special sauce in Satos! Berto and his 11 littermates were rescued by one of our volunteers who found them living in filth on a very small balcony. But that's all in the past now. 

Forrest

Forrest is doing great in his new home state of Maine! He went to the beach for the first time and loved it. He’s a huge fan of the wind and loves a good sunny day. His favorite thing is to lie in the sunroom surrounded by his toys. He is making some friends in his neighborhood and he is always learning. He loves every single person that meets him. His parents are already planning his summer--this little man is going to get his own fenced in yard to unleash all the zoomies he wants! Forrest found his home through the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland. 

Angela and Sandra

Inseparable sisters, Angela and Sandra, found a loving home together. Their new mom went to Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA planning on adopting one lucky pup, but once she saw how bonded these gals are, she knew they had to stay together. This was wonderful news to all of us because these two canine sisters were named and rescued in honor of the twin human nieces of one of our founders. Sandra, who loved animals, passed away unexpectedly last summer. We hope that her wonderful spirit and unbreakable bond with her twin will live on in these two Satas.

Scout

Scout's new parents say he is the best part of their lives. In fact, they can't remember life before him. ?He is so well behaved and affectionate and loves the beach and being around people and other dogs. (He sounds perfect!) Scout found his new family through Bideawee in Westhampton, NY. 

Alana

Alana is an amazing kitty with a lovely life ahead of her. She personally chose her new person at the shelter by meowing insistently. They bonded immediately. Alana has a very outgoing bold personality. She loves to talk and meow all the time, and she follows her mom everywhere. For two weeks, she woke up her mom every morning at 5:30am, but fortunately she is now sleeping until 7:30. Alana is best friends with her boxer puppy sibling and her older feline sibling, Honey. She loves to play with toys and walks around with them in her mouth. She loves to eat too!! Alana found her wonderful home through Ten Lives Club in Buffalo, NY. 

Jamie

Lovely long-haird Jamie joins a big feline household. He now has older siblings Kitty and Jamine and a teenager sister named Angel. He is already very comfortable in his new home and adapting to a large, fun family. Jamie found his home through Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury Massachusetts. His parents tell us they feel blessed to have Jamie as their new feline treasure.

Reina

In Reina's short time with her new family, she has already brought them so much joy and happiness. They look forward to many years of beautiful memories. She is a bundle of energy, and loves to play in the fenced in backyard. When she gets the zoomies, it is hilarious! She travels beautifully, and has already attended multiple softball and baseball games for the kids (even stealing her dad’s chair. They bought her one of her own after that!) She has been wonderfully behaved, eating well, playing a ton, and being loved. Life is good! 

Cody update

It's clearly been an extremely difficult year, but that hasn't dampened Cody's spirits in the least. In a recent update from his dad, we learned that Cody's life is actually better than ever. He lives a happy, healthy (and sometimes lazy) life in Naples, Florida. And now his dad is home more than usual  and is taking advantage of that time to dispense more dog treats and go on more dog walks. Cody has been an awesome help in keeping his dad happy and focused--another Sato doing great work for their person! 

Cookie update

We received a lovely update on Cookie, who found her home through the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, in Maine, in July 2018. Cookie's mom says that this Sata's cuteness melts the family on a daily basis. Cookie plays with her toys, whines to talk with her people, and begs at the dinner table by resting her snout on her mom's leg. (Good thing the mom thinks this is cute behavior!) Cookie is super attached to her human sister. She loves going for walks in the neighborhood with her head high and tail wagging...she even does a little high stepping. 

Ebano

Ebano found his new home through the Tampa Bay Humane Society. He was so excited to have his very own family that he made himself right at home after just 24 hours. His family says that he is the most calm and loveable puppy they have ever had! He seems pretty happy with them too...

Gene

Gene has a great life now with lots of adventures and beautiful settings. He has come a long way from the puppy we found abandoned in a cemetery with his sister. He is considered the light of his new parent's life! 

Barlow

Barlow found his home through When the Going Gets Ruff in Biddeford, Maine. He now lives on an organic vegetable and herb farm in midcoast Maine. He was adopted along with his BFF from the shelter Rosalie. They have lots of fun tussling and keeping each other company. Barlow loves naps and belly rubs, along with car rides, treats and any toy he can destroy, including our socks! He’s sweet and spunky, but scared of loud noise like a vacuum. He is much loved and his family is looking forward to many years of laughs, snuggles and farm adventures together.

Noah

Since leaving his native Puerto Rico, Noah has seen a lot of the United States. He first arrived at Ark Animal Shelter in Cherryfield, Maine in the fall. But since then he and his new mom have driven across country to settle into life in Arizona. Here he is about to enter Utah. He is loving all his new adventures. 

Sandi

Fittingly enough, Sandi was adopted on February 14. As a Valentine pup, she brought love to her new home the minute she entered it. Her new family says that she is the sweetest, most playful, people loving dog ever. It's a true pleasure to have her in their lives. Sandi is very social. She loves to visit the local dog parks so she can play with everyone she meets! 

Sandy

Sandy was named to honor her birthplace of Puerto Rico and its beautiful beaches. Sandy and her siblings were rescued from a rural area where they had been dumped alone to fend for themselves. So, this gal is loving having a real home. She even has a 3 year old sister that she loves very much. She has overcome her early shyness and is now bouncing all around the house and showing her true self. She found her home through the Humane Society of Ocean City in NJ.  

Cornflake

Cornflake has one of our favorite names ever! He found a great home in a dog-friendly apartment complex in Bonita Springs, FL through our partner the Humane Society of Naples, FL. Cornflake is a sweet and loving dog who spends his evenings playing at the dog park with his friends from the apartment complex. His family treasures his loving and kind spirit. He has a little anxiety on occasion, but lucky pup--his parents work opposite schedules so he is almost never alone! 

Maggie

Maggie found her new home through our partner Shore Animal Volunteer Enterprise (SAVE) in Toms River, NJ. Maggie has a new canine brother named Jack and they love to play together and go for long walks. Maggie's parents say that she is adorable and so sweet.

Linda

Linda has an amazing forever home with a new canine brother and sister, who are also rescues. She fits in perfectly. There is a comfy couch covered in pillows, a nice TV, and people to love her. It's the best!! She found her home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA.

Sparky

Sparky was adopted from the Humane Society of Ocean City in Ocean City, NJ just one week after she arrived there. Her new family calls her their little angel. They really love her. She is doing so well and is so happy in her new home. It's much better than running around scared and alone.

Fisher

Fisher's new family says that they couldn’t be happier with this pup! He is just the sweetest, most mellow puppy they have ever had and he get along with all of their other animals very well! Fisher found his home through SAVE Rescue Shelter in Tomsriver, NJ.

Juniper

Juniper also goes by Juni or June-bug. She is settling in to her new home very well. She is curious, playful, and loves to cuddle. Her new family loves her very much. Juniper found her home through the amazing Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA.

Luna

Luna found her wonderful home through the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County in Florida. She is loved by her whole family and is being very spoiled by everyone--as she should be! 

Graciela

Graciela is living a wonderful life in New York City. She goes for daily walks to Central Park where she gets to run around with her dog buddies. She also goes out to Long Island fairly often when she needs a break from the city. This Uptown Girl found her amazing new mom through One Love Rescue on Long Island. Her mom says that adopting Graciela is the decision she has ever made.  

Oliver

Oliver is perfectly equipped for his first cold winter. This little cutie found a great home in Brooklyn, NY, through our partner Bideawee. Oliver is already bringing much joy into the lives of his new parents. From the looks of things, they are bringing him a lot of joy too....he gets to take naps with his head on a pillow and a fluffy quilt covering him. It's a long way from being alone on the streets of Puerto Rico. 

Violetta

Violeta found her home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA in August 2019. Her mom tells us that Violetta is an amazing dog--the perfect balance of playful and sweet.  She has a big brother named Bruno, whom she absolutely adores. Violeta is incredibly smart and leads a full life that includes watching her favorite TV shows and going to pool parties. 

Gracie

At the shelter, Gracie was able to grab the attention of her new mom by sticking out her paw every time ?she walked by. It worked so well that Gracie went home that very day. She joined a nice quiet home with her new parents and feline sister Sophie. She also gets weekly visits and playdates with two grand children. Gracie and Sophie bonded quickly too. They love playing and napping together. Gracie is her mom's shadow. She loves sleeping under the covers with her mom, or even on top of her. So comfy! 

Piper

Piper is a great addition to her new family. She has two loving parents and 4 kids that love playing with her. She also has a fur sister that she loves running around with and playing with. So far she enjoys cuddling and chewing all of her toys and is adjusting well.  She likes the snow in Massachusetts and likes playing in it. She and her fur sister love to be outside playing in their fenced-in yard. Piper found her home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA.

Foxy

Foxy found her new home through SPCA Florida in Lakeland, where she now lives. She is a sweetheart and is truly enjoying her new digs. She gets lots of space for napping, often with her head resting on her new dad's arm. Her parents say they couldn't be any happier! We think she feels the same way. 

Mollie

Mollie found her forever home through The Animal Welfare League in Charlotte County Florida.  Her new family went to the shelter and fell in love instantly!  Mollie has helped her family heal after the loss of their last dog to canine lymphoma in early November. Mollie's new canine sister, Sophie, is very glad to have a playmate again and the whole family is glad to have another puppy to snuggle!    

Masha

Masha found her forever home through SAVE rescue shelter in Tom's River, NJ. Her mom and pop can't believe how lucky they are to have found her after months of searching, and are pretty sure she feels the same way. Masha loves waking up early, cuddles, and organizing all of her toys. She is still getting used to having a home of her own and learning about treats, but every she day warms up more- physically and emotionally! They never could have known such a tiny creature could bring so much joy.

Bonnie

In Scotland, "Bonnie" means beautiful. That made it a fitting name for Bonnie the Sato whose new mom is from Scotland. Bonnie now lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with her mom and new dad who is Irish. It's a very multicultural family! Bonnie has settled in very well, enjoying her first Christmas, experiencing her first snowfall, and running along the beach in Cape Cod. There were so many fun things to sniff and so many other dogs to meet. Bonnie's parents tell us they love her very much and are looking forward to making many more memories with her in the years to come. She found her wonderful home through Caribbean Connection Puppy Rescue in Hanson, MA.

Stevie

Stevie found her home through the Little Shelter in Huntington, NY. She is loving her new home and new life and new father. He says that he intends to shower her with a lifetime of love and happiness! 

Callie

Callie is a playful, active cat, who found a wonderful home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, Mass. Lucky girl now has a comfy bed, lots of toys, and a kitty jungle gym. (Rumor has it, she may even get a new feline playmate/sibling soon!) It's a great new life for her. She was found abandoned at just six weeks old with her five littermates all alone and hungry. Happily those sad days are all behind her. 

Sal

Sal's new mom had been searching for the right dog for the family for months. When they found Sal at Bideawee in New York, they fell in love. The feeling was mutual! Sal loves his wonderful new life, which includes visits to the beach, car rides, quality time with his peeps, and naps in all sorts of comfy spots. He recently experiened snow for the first time and, thanks to his warm jacket, it wasn't all that bad. 

Morton McDougal

The New Year was especially happy for Morton McDougal, who found his forever home on New Year's Eve. He's looking forward to a life-changing 2021. Morton found his home through the Ocean City Humane Society in Ocean City NJ.

Baxter

Baxter now lives just a few steps from the ocean in Cape Canaveral and one of his favorite things to do is go for a walk on the beach. He also loves playing with his friends at the dog parks. Baxter found his new home through the SPCA Florida in Lakeland. He was named Baxter after two family members--one human and one canine! Baxter goes to puppy training every Saturday and is very clever: he picks up on hand cues really quickly. 

Lola Belle

Lola Belle found a great home in central New Jersey with four human siblings through our partner SAVE Rescue. She is a lovely dog and is doing well with her training....she still does not like walking on the leash too much, but she now has a big backyard so she can get her exercise running around in the grass.  She is well behaved and has lots of love to give.  Her new family has lots of love to give her in return, so it is a perfect match. Her family tragically lost their first dog six months ago due to sudden illness. After a period of grieving, they were ready to open their hearts to another dog. 

Lola

Lola's move from the tropics to New York City was a bit of a shock to the system at first, but now she is managing urban life like a pro! It helps that she has her own comfy bed with easy access to her wonderful toy collection. Lola is not only very smart, but also the sweetest, most loving animal that her family has ever had. She's funny too....Lola found her home through Bideawee, Inc.

Bean Sprout

Bean Sprout (sitting in back) loves hanging out with her beautiful big brother. They log a lot of couch time together. She also gets to nap next to her new feline sibling as well. A lovely home full of playmates is a nice change for Bean Sprout, who found her way to All Sato Rescue through the owner of a kiosk that sells grilled chicken. Bean Sprout found her home through the Humane Society of Naples, Florida. 

Lea

We heard from Lea's new parents. They adopted this little cutie through Bideawee in New York City. Lea now lives in CT where she is learning about cold weather and snow. Fortunately, she already has a warm winter coat. Her parents tell us that they are so very grateful to have this sweet dog in their lives and they plan on spoiling her every day.

Dom and Lara

Dom and Lara found a wonderful home with the coziest blankets imaginable through SAVE Rescue Shelter in Tomsriver, NJ. These two are extra lucky because they are never ever left alone in the house without one of their humans. 

Rico

Rico has been living a great life in Warren, Maine ever since being adopted through Tall Tails Beagle Rescue six years ago. He has a loving family complete with human, canine, and feline siblings—bunnies too! And he has a very nice home with plenty of room to play both inside and out. There are beautiful places to walk, comfy beds for naps, and even a porch swing. He has tons of friends! Rico had a bit of an accident a few years back and lost an eye and a leg, but it hasn’t slowed him down one bit. 

Coqui

Coqui found her new home through the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County in Florida. She traveled there with her six puppies. Coqui was an excellent mother. Every one of her babies was adopted into forever homes and we are very glad that she also found a great home after caring for them.

Lucy

Lucy is settling in well to her new family. She is such sweetheart! She is still a little nervous, what with all the changes, but she seems to know that all those comfy dog beds, treats, toys, and love mean she is in a safe place where good things are going to happen. She now has a big canine sister named Rosie, and they are getting along well, too. Lucy is very curious, and is enjoying exploring her new home and looking out the many windows to see her new world, which includes crazy things like snow. Fortunately, she has a new fleece jacket to keep her nice and warm!?

Kalula

Kalula's new dad reached out to us as she was sleeping by his side on the couch. He had recently brought her home from the Ark Animal shelter in Cherryfield, Maine. He had been looking for a special friend for his son and Kalula is eager to take on that role. Very soon she is going to be meeting the other members of her lovely new family. They include peacocks, pheasant and quail in the aviaries on the two acres that she now calls home. 

Ruth Bader Barksburg

Ruth Bader Barksburg (on the right) is a great, gentle and sweet dog--the perfect addition to her new home. With the help of her big (but smaller) little brother Dexter, she is learning to overcome her shyness. She loves to get Dexter all riled up in the backyard and run around like crazy! She also loves going to the dog park. Ruthie is a quick study, who responds well to commands. For instance, as soon as she realized that chewing on the corner of the coffee table was not appreciated, she gave it up to pursue new activities. Ruthie found her home through the Little Shelter Rescue and Adoption Center in Huntington, NY.

Stella

Stella found an exceptional home through the Humane Society for Greater Nashua in Nashua, NH. Her parents went right in and adopted her the same day that they saw her lovely photo on the website. It was instant love all around, especially with Stella's human sister Betsy with whom she has a constant lovefest! With her incredible border collie/sato heritage, Stella quickly became the star pupil in obedience class and is considering agility training as well. Her home has a large fenced-in yard, all for her, and she takes her role as squirrel sentry very seriously.

Neo and Gilbert

Neo and Gilbert now call Massachusetts their home. They are lovely kitties and settling in well. They are perfect gentlemen...well, almost...Neo can be a bit of a trouble maker because he loves to explore. He also gives the best purrs. Gilbert was shy at first but is building confidence. They play with each other all the time and love playing with their feather toy and wool balls. They are much loved.

Fuego

Fuego found a lovely home in Maine through Tall Tails Beagle Rescue in Freeport, Maine. His new family met him and adopted him on the spot!  He is kind, funny, energetic and very playful. He doesn't even mind the cold weather because he has coats to keep him warm. He goes to the beach and plays well with other dogs and listens when he hears his name called. He goes to doggy daycare for 10 hours once a week to run around and play with other dogs. And if that isn't enough exercise, he has two cat siblings to chase around! 

Delilah Grace

Delilah Grace found her new home through Bideawee in Westhampton, NY.  She is so precious! Her new mom has been wanting to adopt for a long time, so we are very happy that these two found each other.

Dunkin

Dunkin has settled into his new home in Naples, FL.  This 5 month old boy loves to play catch with his dad, loves going to the dog park and meeting new friends.  His favorite time of the day is when he can go run outside. His new family can't imagine their life without him.

Grace

Grace has a wonderful and busy new life. She spends a lot of her day playing with her big (dog) brother, Duffy, and keeping her family company as they work and attend school from home. She had to have knee surgery a few months ago, but came through it like a champ. She is affectionate, energetic, and one tough cookie--speaking of which, she loves cookies! She likes to hide them around the house so she can have one handy for snacktime. 

Harmony

Harmony is doing VERY well adjusting to her wonderful new home, which she found courtesy of Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, Mass. Harmony seems to realize that she has hit the jackpot and wants to show her mom how helpful she can be. For instance, she likes to find her Mom's shoes and bring them to her and she will bring her own leash as well, just in case her mom wants to take her on a walk. Harmony loves to chase squirrels, birds, and bunnies--but it's all for fun. She doesn't want to hurt anything. Harmony had it pretty rough early in her life, so it's very rewarding to see her living the life she deserves.

Hondo

Hondo found his home thanks to the SPCA of Florida. He now lives in Tampa, FL, enjoys soaking up the sun, going for walks, and playing fetch to name a few things. He is so smart, loving, and is a little clown! His new family wouldn't be complete without him!   

Carita

Carita is bringing much energy, joy, and curiosity to her new home. She loves getting attention from her new family and is exceptionally sweet. She is quick to roll over in case someone might want to scratch her belly. She plays a lot of fetch in her new yard in New Jersey. This girl is super smart--she mastered housetraining very quickly and can sit on command. Her new family tells us that she is in very good hands.Carita found her wonderful home through the Humane Society of Ocean City.

Hortensia

Hortensia now lives on the coast of Maine, near Acadia National Park, which is a beautiful place. She has a big yard and her new parents are home most of the time, so she has lots of company. She is also getting to know her new 12-year-old feline sibling. Hortensia found her home through Ark Animal Shelter in Cherryfield, Maine.

Paco

Paco has such a big heart for such a little dog. This lucky pup found his home through the Humane Society for Greater Nashua in New Hampshire. Paco took a few minutes to open up, but once he did, his true joyful nature came bursting forth. He blends in very well with the rest of the animals in his new home and has developed a real affection for his new family. He is also enjoying his new wardrobe of winterware, his huge collection of toys, and his comfy blankets. He has everything a Puerto Rican pup could possibly need to adjust to a New England winter.

Arti

Arti very quickly stole the hearts of his new family. He found his wonderful home through the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. He is very curious pup, who just wants to be by your side. His favorite games are fetch and tug-of-war and, like so many Satos, he has a very healthy appetite. His new parents are looking forward to watching him grow into a well behaved--and much beloved--member of the family.

Flash

Flash arrived in his forever home on Halloween. He was adopted from the Little Shelter and Adoption Center in Huntington, NY. He is absolutely amazing and his family is madly in love with him. He has two 1.5 year old Pitbull Mix siblings as well as 9-and 8- year old human siblings. He has adjusted to life in this busy household extremely well--naps help!

Storm

Storm found his forever home thanks to Bideawee in New York City. He is the cutest and most playful puppy ever...His new family feels that they have been completed with the addition of Storm!

Grace Lea

Grace Lea is an amazing little girl, who can always make her new family laugh. She has also become a cuddle buddy! Grace's family chose her name because she is such a joy and “light” in these uncertain and frightening times. She is truly an Amazing Grace. She found her home through our partner, Caribbean Connection Puppy Rescue.

Maya

Maya's new parents wanted a husky mix so badly that they applied to adopt her even before they saw her photo. All they knew was that she was an Alaskan husky mix--all the way from Puerto Rico. Lucky for everyone that Maya also happens to be totally adorable. She is just the sweetest little pup. House training is going well and she sleeps in her crate all night until the sun comes up. She loves meeting new dogs and new people on her walks. And she loves a good snuggle on someone's lap

Luiggie

Luiggie's new mom wrote to us to say that he is a sweet addition to the household and that they love one another very much! Luiggie found his home through Cape Ann Animal Aid, in Gloucester, MA. He is very chatty, always offering his observations and input to family and friends. He is also loving, playful, curious, and cuddly. He especially loves to wake up his new family members with a good snuggle first thing in the morning.

Lucy

Lucy found her home through our partner Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, Mass. She is very playful, loves to snuggle, and is so gentle with her new 17-month-old human brother. They will be best buddies for many years. He loves her!

Bailey

Bailey found her home through SAVE Rescue in Toms River, NJ. She was very shy on her first day in her new home, but she still showed how incredibly smart and sweet she is! Everyday more of her sweet personality comes out. She has already learned to sit and give paw on command. Bailey has a new big canine brother who is showing her the ropes.

Andy

Andy's new family loves him very much. He is so smart that he is quickly mastering a range of commands. He now lives in Holliston MA, where he has his very own fenced in grassy yard. He is also lucky to live in a neighborhood with lots of open space for walks and lots of other dogs to play with. He gets 6-8 walks a day! He has had lots of new experiences and enjoyed every one: his first snow storm! a flock of turkeys! a deer in the woods! He has learned that leaves are fun to chase on a windy day. Andy found his wonderful home through Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, Mass.

Blake

Blake found his home through The Ark Animal Shelter in Cherryfield, Maine. He is now living an active, adventurous and lovely life! He gets to hang out in beautiful places, frolic on the beach, and enjoy being loved.

Nadia

Nadia is doing very well. She eats, plays and sleeps and is definitely being well cared for. She is growing, a bit taller since we first got her and is now about 14.5 pounds. She sleeps well in her crate at night time and enjoys playing. She is learning to walk on her leash and now sits on command (with treats!)

Farrah

Farrah found her home through our wonderful partner Little Shelter and Adoption Center in Huntington, NY. She now has loving parents and a new canine sibling/BFF. She is a such a good girl and is making her family very happy.

Summer

Summer found a wonderful home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. Her family says that they could never have predicted how awesome she would be! She is loving, cuddly, playful and absolutely the perfect companion for the entire family. She fills the home with love and was very happy to become a big sister to a human baby. She is so great with the baby, loving and patient and always up for a game of tug-of-war. She loves to play in the yard and walk with the stroller, or curl up on the couch to watch TV at the end of the night. She claims all of the softest blankets and pillows for her own, and is always willing to take an afternoon nap if you need one. She cuddles in the bed but isn't happy unless she can touch every member of the family at the same time!

Olive

Olive now lives in Claremont, NH where she loves to snuggle on the couch and in bed, tear apart toys, and run like the wind. She is very loving and sweet, and learning to feel more confident around strangers. Her new parents have bought her a warm jacket to help her deal with her first snowfall and a cold New England winter. She is a great addition to the family and brings much love into the home.

Calvin

Calvin found his wonderful home from Bideawee in NYC. His new family loves him very much. They gave him a nickname--Grumpy--because of his underbite, not because of his personality. He is actually super sweet and very appreciative of his wonderful new life. He is a very friendly dog, ready to greet everybody he meets, always eager to play. H lives near a dog park where he enjoys running around with his friends. He also loves sitting by the window and looking at the city. He often sits near window or at the balcony and looks very attentively at what’s happening outside. He is learning some tricks and he even has his own instagram account!

Pumpkin

Pumpkin found her forever home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. She joined a family of five kids, which means plenty of playmates. There is so much playtime that Pumpkin needs lots of naps. Pumpkin's mom traveled to Puerto Rico frequently as a child and remembers being upset by all the homeless dogs. Now, she is very honored to be able to provide a loving home for one of them.

Lola

For Lola's new mom, it was love at first sight. Lola immediately claimed a very comfy stuffed chair as her own, and is eating well. She now lives in a tiny, rural town in the State of Maine in an old school house that was converted into a home. Her mom is retired so Lola won't be alone much, she'll get lots of walks and rides and loving attention. Lola also made friends with her neighbor's dog and now they all go on morning walks together. The only downside in Lola's new life is that terrifying noisy garage door!

Sophie

Madam Sophie Peanut Princess, as her 9 and 7-year-old human sisters refer to her, found her new home through the Humane Society in Naples, FL. She loves to chase toys in the garden and is learning to walk on a leash--right now she likes to RUN on the leash. She has a great temperament and is loving the bonding process with her sisters. Sophie's family already did a DNA test and it turns out that this sata has both chow chow and german shepherd ancestors.

Berty

In this photo, Berty is overseeing the completion of paperwork to formalize her adoption from the Humane Society in Naples, Florida. Her new family tells us that she had them "at hello!" She is a happy and loving dog who brings great joy to the family. And they bring great joy to her. This lovely pup was found as skin and bones living underneath a tractor trailer truck beside a warehouse. She is thoroughly appreciating her wonderful new life, which includes comfy nap spots, lovely scenery, a nice home and yard, and plenty of love from her humans.

Luca

Luca went to her forever home on July 12, which just happens to be her new mom's birthday. She found her home through the Animal Welfare League in Port Charlotte, Florida. And she is loving her life in the sunshine state. Luca has a huge fenced in yard and goes to the dog beaches and boating every weekend. She has a big sister, Fiona, who is a goldendoodle. And they are the bestest of friends.

Nox

Nox has been in his forever home for about a year. He is super cuddly. Every night, he likes to jump up on the couch for a snuggle with his parents. Nox's father wasn't initially sold on the idea of adopting a cat, but Nox totally won him over on the ride home. Now the two love to work on projects together. For instance, in this photo, they are inspecting the bathtub plumbing. His family feels that he is the perfect cat for them and he feels the same way!

Ducky

Ducky found his forever home through the Humane Society in Naples, FL. He is now the king of the Castle and the light of his new parents' lives. He’s doing really really well and starts obedience training soon to help him with walks--and stealing his parents' food. He is the sweetest pup and everyone who meets him falls in love with him.

Ellea

Ellea traveled to the Animal Welfare League in Port Charlotte, Florida where she found a lovely home. In fact, her new mom was so committed to adopting this sata that she sat in front of her computer, refreshing it constantly, so she would know the exact moment when Ellea became available for adoption. She arrived at the shelter at 11am and by 11:11, the deal was done, adoption papers signed, and Ellea had her forever home. This pup is a "princess" who loves everyone and every other dog.

Bailey

Bailey's new mom wrote to tell us that she is head over heels in love with this little munchkin. She adopted him through our friends at SAVE shelter in Toms River, NJ. Bailey and his six siblings were a bit of a surprise. They were born to a dog that one of our volunteers rescued in April--and no one realized she was pregnant!You can check out a video of them as newborns on our facebook page for April 23, 2020.Everyone, including the mother, has since been adopted.

Toby

Toby found his new home about a month and a half ago and he’s settled right in. He has two human brothers that are going to love growing up with a dog. One is almost four and the other is just a baby. The older brother and Toby are already BFFs. They love running around the house and yard chasing each other. Toby also has a 10-year-old dog pal named Sammy. Toby has brought the life and youth back to Sammy. Toby even won over his new cat sibling! They chase eachother all over the place. Toby also enjoys taking walks.

Kinglsey

Kingsley needed a very special family to see beyond his skittishness to recognize the lovely soul waiting to emerge. We are overjoyed to report that he found just that through our partner Humane Society, Naples Florida. He now has two canine brothers- Tremor, a 9-year-old Chihuahua and Dexter another Sato. He also has 3 feline brothers, a hamster sister, and a 6-year-old human sister.  Kingsley wanted to carve out a safe space for himself in the bathroom and his kind parents accommodated his wishes, surrounding him with new toys, blankets, and treats. They understand that with love and patience, Kingsley will gain the confidence he needs to claim more space and enjoy this amazing new life of his.

Lola

Lola is a great doggie--very smart and sweet. And she immediately bonded with her new human sister. It was love at first sight. Lola's new family cares very much about Puerto Rico's satos. They actually lived in PR for a few years and rescued a dog from the beach there who is still around at almost 16 years old. They say their special fondness for satos comes from knowing first hand about the abuse and neglect that animals so often face on the island. Lola is looking forward to many special moments with her new sis in the years to come. Lola found her amazing home through the Humane Society in Naples, Florida

Enano

Enano is an extremely charismatic three-legged sato who just found a wonderful home. He now has a canine sister named Annie who is also a sato--so they have lots to discuss. He loves everyone he meets and is enjoying quality time on the sofa with his new mom and sister. He found his home through our partner When the Going Gets Ruff Canine Rescue in Biddeford, Maine.

Sissy

Sissy (the black sweetie in the foreground) is BFFs with her baby sister, a rescue from Georgia. Her other siblings are two cats and a guinea pig. Sissy found her amazing home through our partner, Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. She loves the beach and--in true Sato style--she is a sun bunny. Sissy is a sweet dog, and her new family couldn't be happier to have her. She is going to be very pampered...

Sara

Sara is a very loving dog, who's happiest when she gets to play or cuddle. Her new family is so nice that they don't even mind when she wakes them up in the middle of the night to play! She found her wonderful home through the Little Shelter Rescue and Adoption Center in Huntington, NY.

Nina

Nina had to wait a long time before she had the chance to leave Puerto Rico and begin her new life. But it was all worth it, because she has the BEST home now! Thanks to our partner, Humane Society of Naples, Florida, Nina is much loved. Her new family says their lives haven't been the same since she came into their home. They intend to spoil Nina as much as humanly possible. That includes yummy peanut butter/banana yogurt cups, naps on the couch under a blanket, and new clothes!

Cholita

We received a lovely email from Cholita's new mom saying that she is the proud fur-mama to the most beautiful, sweetest little lady! She met Cholita at the Humane Society of Naples, FL and the connection was instant. She has only had this little sata for a few days but already cannot express how much JOY and LOVE Cholita has brought her. She CAN'T IMAGINE LIFE WITHOUT Cholita

Kacie

Kacie is having a great summer. Not only does everyone love her, but she gets to visit an aunt on the shore and hang out on the deck with dog and people friends. She even gets to take naps on lovely blankets that give her sweet dreams of biscuits.

Kobe

Kobe was named for the late great basketball icon. His new dad is even helping him figure out the mysteries of dribbling...Sports is just one advantage in Kobe's amazing new life. He also has his very own swimming pool. It's light years away from how Kobe began life, abandoned along a highway with his siblings and mother. Kobe has an amazing temperament for his age. He is extremely well-behaved, and very friendly to new faces. Like most puppies he has a ton of energy, and he is teething a lot so he is chewing everything (blankets, breaking toys, etc.) lol. Surprisingly he doesn't chew shoes, which is a huge plus! He gets lots of love from his new parents and gives lots back. Kobe found his home through the Humane Society in Naples, FL.

Ultra

Ultra found a wonderful home through the Gulf Coast Humane Society in Fort Myers, FL. We rescued him and his three siblings and their mom after they were abandoned. Ultra now has new siblings--a German Shepherd and a cocker spaniel. His new family says that he's so adorable and they cant wait to watch him grow!!

Maisie Grace

Maisie Grace is settling well into her new home after being adopted from the Monmouth County SPCA in NJ. Her new parents say that she is very sweet, funny, and affectionate. She now has human parents and two human siblings to love. She also has an older dog brother named Duffy who seems to be enjoying her company! She gets very excited whenever she sees him and wags her tail a lot.

Sophie

Sophie found a wonderful home in the beautiful state of Vermont. In her new house, she has a comfy couch, plenty of comforters, and her very own bureau to store her clothes and toys! And even better, she has a human to take care of her for the rest of her life. Sophie's new mom tells us that this little Sata is LOVED!

Tucker and Millie

Tucker and Millie found their new home through the Animal Refuge League of Charlotte County in Port Charlotte, FL. They are a very bonded brother and sister who are overjoyed to be adopted together. They were found in an area near a natural preserve in Puerto Rico where dogs are often abandoned. Sadly, many of these dogs are picked up by the dog catcher and euthanized....so these two are very lucky in all ways to be part of a family that loves them and thinks they are wonderful

Dakota

Dakota's new parents saw his profile on Petfinder at the Humane Society of Ocean City, NJ and knew he was the "one." They had been looking for a young playmate for their 3-yr-old collie mix, who was driving their 11-yr-old husky a little bonkers with so much playing. Dakota was the perfect solution! He is adjusting super well to his new home and his new sisters. He now has a half acre fenced yard that is fully accessible by a dog door. Within a day, he taught himself how to use it just by watching his sisters! He's already learning sit and down with hand signals. He's a quick learner. Here he is in his absolute favorite position with his belly to the floor.

Charlie

Charlie is living a wonderful new life in Florida. He found his home through our partner the Humane Society of Naples. He is adjusting super quickly to his home. He has learned to sit on command, and he LOVES long walks, popsicle treats, and lying belly up.

Nena

Nena (on the left) is much loved in her new home in Maine where she is totally bonded with brother Axel. They enjoy going on car rides together, hanging out on their boat, and then taking long naps on their parent's bed. Nena found her home through our partner the Ark Animal Shelter in Cherryfield, Maine.

Lucy

Lucy found a lovely home thanks to our partner the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. She is now living a great life, complete with a feline sibling named Betty-Lou who is lots of fun to hang out with. Lucy's parents say they love her very much so that makes us extremely happy.

Daisy

Daisy found a great home with a huge fenced-in backyard and a human sister who never tires of throwing sticks! Her family says that she is a very special gift to them. Sadly, Daisy's previous "owner" felt very differently. She and her friends once lived on a farm, but because they liked to chase the chickens--and who could blame them???--they were all dumped in an abandoned house with no food or water. Fortunately, one of our volunteers heard about the case and saved them.

Ginger

Ginger found her forever home through the Monmouth County SPCA three years ago. She now lives in Farmingdale, NJ where she likes playing with her friends at Pet Smart Doggie Day Camp. Ginger is a very sweet girl, who loves walks, car rides, camping trips, and going on vacation. She recently visited the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina. She is also an excellent watchdog--no squirrels in the yard on her watch! But more than anything, she loves hanging out with her mom and dad. 

Daisy

Just a few hours into her new home and wonderful new life, Daisy (on the left) was totally settled in. She quickly found the right spot for squirrel patrol and became BFFs with her new canine sibling. They wore themselves out playing chase in her big back yard. Daisy found her new life through our partner the Humane Society of Ocean City.

Tia

Lucky Tia was adopted by a family with kids so she gets lots of quality play and cuddle time. She also gets to wear lovely bows that complement her beautiful eyes. Tia found her family through our partner the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA.

Georgie

Cutie pie Georgie found the perfect home through our partner the Humane Society in Naples, Florida. He has quickly become the love of her life for his new mom. His whole family feels the same way. They adore him and tell us that he is the best dog ever! So loving and playful... LOVES to be hugged and cuddled!! Naps are fun too!

Blueberry

We hear that Blueberry is the perfect puppy! She found her new home in the wonderful state of Maine through our partner When the Going Gets Ruff Dog Rescue. Her adopters fell instantly in love with her energy and her sweet heart. They knew she was the one! Blueberry has been in her new home about a month now and is growing into her personality, and those ears! She loves to cuddle and play with her endless amounts of toys. She is extremely smart and such a fast learner. She is very loved.

Mia

Mia (on the left) has settled in very well to her new home where she lives with another small dog and two big ones. In fact, she has become BFFs with one of her big playmates. They love to hang out and chase each other around their big fenced-in yard. Then they get to curl up together for naptime. It's such a nice change for Mia to be so loved and so safe. This little girl was dumped out by her previous family. Fortunately, one of our rescuers spotted her and was able to lure her to safety with a piece of chicken. 

Eva

Eva found a loving home in Manchester, NH thanks to our partner the Humane Society of Greater Nashua. Eva's new mom fell in love with her energy and sweetness. Eva's Puerto Rican heritage made it that much more special. That's because her new mom's grandfather, with whom she was extremely close, came from Puerto Rico. In other words, this placement was truly meant to be. Eva has been on lots of hikes, walks, adventures, and even went kayaking!

Callie

Callie found the perfect home two years ago, thanks to the Humane Society of Waterville Area in Northern Maine. She has made a huge impact on her mom's life. Very sadly, Callie was recently diagnosed with congestive heart failure and may not have much time left. We are so saddened by this terrible news, but Callie is getting the very best veterinary care, best food, and all the love that would typically be packed into a long lifetime. Her mom is determined to show her the love she truly deserved and still does. Callie has earned a very special spot in her mom's heart!

Kacie

Here's Kacie in her very own wading pool in her very own huge backyard where she gets to play nonstop with her big brother Kyle. Kyle is another black lab mix and the two can chase each other around for hours on end. When they get tired of that, they can play with their collection of toys. Kacie has even been known to dig a hole or two! The fun never ends! This lucky pup found her perfect family through SAVE Rescue in Toms River, NJ.

Matrix and Duke

Matrix (on the left) and Duke both found their homes through our wonderful partner, the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue in Reinholds, PA. Their mom is a volunteer with the group. And, get this, they have a third Sato sibling named Rosie! As we always say, the only thing better than one Sato is two or three!

Miley

Like so many Satos, Miley is a sun bunny at heart. She loves to feel the rays on her fur every morning on her deck in Rhode Island. Lucky girl found her forever home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA a year ago. She is so happy!

Sherwood

Sherwood was found taking refuge behind a supermarket, next to a power generator. He was very scared. He has found a wonderful family through our partner When the Going Gets Ruff Dog Rescue in Brunswick, Maine and now lives in New Hampshire. He is enjoying fun adventures with his 13 and 14-year-old human siblings. Sherwood is a great dog and he is taking the opportunity during quarantine to have lots of family time. He absolutely loves to be outside and go for walks and hikes. He also goes to a wonderful place 2 days a week where he plays with other dogs and he loves that.

Nala

Nala found her home through Bideawee Inc. in New York. Her family tell us that she is the best dog and the best thing that has happened to them! How great is that??? She is a loving and sweet pup who loves the beach, and carrying her people's shoes around the house. She is also super smart and graduated from puppy school with honors!

Goose

Goose flew into New York City and went to our partner Bideawee Inc. But he now lives in a loving home in Littleton, massachusetts. His family says that they are in love. They are a family of 5. Mom with 4 children. Ages 17, 18, 25 and 26--so Goose has lots of people to play with and cuddle with. He’s adjusting well and is a bundle of love.

Mario

We received a lovely update on Mario who has been in his forever home now for seven years. He was adopted through our partner the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. Mario's entire family is head over heels in love with him. They say he is a blessing and the best dog imaginable. Mario is living a great life in MA with plenty of hikes, glorious views, and trips to the beach--not to mention all the love and kisses he gets regularly.

Zoey

Zoey (the black lab mix puppy) was born in December 2019, but soon found her way to our wonderful partner Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. She has made the perfect addition to her family and her new mom and dad are grateful for her every day!! She has a big sister Remy who is 11 months old and also a rescue. The two friends love to play and snuggle together.

Sadie

When Sadie was adopted into her  new home from the Humane Society in Naples, Florida, she had a big void to fill. Her parents had recently lost their canine baby of 14 years. Sadie's job was to bring that special dog joie de vivre back into the household. Because she is the sweetest, most well behaved dog, it didn't take her parents long to fall in love with her.  Now Sadie has a nice fenced in yard to run in and roll in the grass. She goes on  several long walks a day. It's a very different life from what she knew in Puerto Rico where she was tossed out on a beach with her 8 puppies. She was skinny and covered in fleas. Now she is drop-dead gorgeous! It turns out that Sadie saved her new family, just as much as they saved her!

Will

It's so very gratifying to be able to have our rescued cats placed in shelters. That's why we were over the moon when the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland accepted several feline transports last winter. We just heard from one happy adopter, who told us that Will is thriving in Maine! He is the sweetest most loving kitty ever and fits in so wonderfully with his new family of five and dog and 11 yr old kitty. He is still adjusting to the kitty but she can be stubborn. Will and his new fur brother Colby are the best of friends as you can see here.

Maeve

Maeve is another one of our "World Cup" puppies, named after the championship U.S. Women's Soccer Team. Cursor down for two of her littermates. Her original name was Julie and she an absolute delight! Her new family adores her! She's healthy and happy! Before the coronavirus pandemic, Maeve had regular playdates with her BFF /sister Crystal who lives just down the street.

Pooh

Pooh and his siblings were found abandoned as newborns, along with their mother, in Caguas, Puerto Rico. One of our volunteers was able to take care of them and we sent them to the Sterling Shelter in Sterling, MA, which is where Pooh found his forever home. He now lives in Worcester, MA.

Keeva

Keeva (the black lab mix) is another one of the famous "World Cup" litter of puppies that we named after the U.S. women's soccer champions. These pups went to Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. Keeva's original name was Becky. She has been a wonderful addition to her family and is much adored. She loves to have fun just as much as she loves to cuddle. She has become best friends with the other dogs in the house and with the other humans. Her human brother is an animal control officer in Gloucester, MA, so a huge shout out to him for his good work. Keeva's family loves dogs so much that they said they would have five if the town allowed it!

Nino

Nino now lives in Queens, NY with his big sis Idli, who was adopted from the same shelter that as him. That would be our dear friends at Bideawee Inc. Nino found his home right before the quarantine started and he is very happy to have his parents around 24/7. His parents tell us that it is a blessing to see him grow and learn each day. He is 5 months old and he losing his puppy teeth! We hope that Gov. Cuomo has followed the lead of New Zealand's Prime Minister and designated the tooth fairy as an essential worker...

Penny

Penny (formally known as Megan) was one of our "World Cup" pups. She and her 10 siblings were named after the champions on the U.S. Women's Soccer team. They all found homes through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. Penny is thriving in her new life, where she gets to run on the beach, explore nature, and hang out with her big sis Izzy, another black lab mix. Penny has lots to say! She is very talkative and she LOVES to eat everything from acorns to bananas. Crab shells are a real delicacy!

Belissa

Belissa found her home through the Humane Society of Broward County in Florida last December. She flew there with her siblings, all of whom had been abandoned. Now she is living a wonderful life. Her new family says that she is an amazing addition to the household.

Kiny

Kiny is so enjoying her amazing new life in the beautiful state of Maine. Kily has transformed from a shy girl into a happy wiggle butt and that's probably because she loves her mom so much. This is a true love story.There’s nothing that Kily loves more than an adventure with her momma! They have been to the beach and on many hikes, and Kily has seen her first waterfall and experienced her first snow fall! We are sure they have many more adventures in their future. Kiny found her dream home through our partner When the Going Gets Ruff Dog Rescue in Brunswick, Maine.

Adele

Like many dogs across the country, Adele is over-the-moon that her Mom is now staying home with her all day, every day. Adele just melts when you pet her. She likes to push her nose up against her mom or dangle her paw over her mom's arm, just to have that special connection. She is such a calm, gentle, sweet, loving dog. She has a new canine brother named Duncan that she likes to chase around and play tug-of-war with, which is really fun. Dell found her amazing home through the Humane Society in Naples, Florida.

Finn

Finn is doing absolutely amazing. He is smart, sweet, loving and always making his new family laugh. He found his home through the Humane Society in Naples, Florida. He loves his canine brother Ozzie and has a very special connection with his human sister. His new family says they are very grateful to have him in their lives.

Lenny

Lucky Lenny now lives in Portland, Maine. She found her home through our partner When the Going Gets Ruff in February 2020. She and her new mom have spent the time ever since getting to know one another and having fun adventures. Lenny has a great personality. She is always up for a run through the snow or happy to poke around on the beach. She is very sweet and super cuddly. Her absolute favorite things are her squeaky toy duck, running as fast as possible, scratching her back on the carpet, and playing with her friends at doggie day care. Ok, so looking at squirrels is super fun too!

Ebony

Ebony was adopted back in 2017 from the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. Her mom was recently going through her papers and came across our letter and reached out, which was wonderful. Ebony helped her mom get over the loss of a previous chihuahua. Ebony is just as sweet as she is smart. She lives in the country with plenty of open land where she can run and play and patrol.

Minnie

Minnie now lives in the wonderful city of Portland, Maine where she is super happy. She loves to run and play with her many friends at the dog park every day. She has lots of toys, including an enviable bone collection, and a comfy home where she gets lots of love.

Morgan

Morgan found his home through the Humane Society in Naples, Florida. Lucky boy now lives on Marco Island where he goes for morning walks around a lake. You can tell he is pretty happy in his new life. Morgan is a loving dog who is a valued member of the family.

Chulah

Would it surprise you to hear that Chula LOVES fetching small tennis balls? She's also very smart. She mastered "sit" and "give paw" very quickly. She also loves her bed and her mom's lap. Chulah found her home through Bideawee Inc. in New York City. Her new mom says that she would never purchase a dog from a pet shop when there are so many spectacular pups waiting in shelters. We couldn't agree more!

Daisy

Daisy has integrated very well into her new family. She loves her new human siblings, who are 3 years old and nine months. New feline brother Patchet is the only family member still on the fence about Daisy's arrival, but even he is starting to warm up! Daisy now lives on 2 acres in a rural area so she gets plenty of outdoor walks and romps. She loves to cuddle!

Lilah

Lilah is a big hit in her new family. She is super sweet, and very smart. Her new family can't possibly imagine life without her. She now has human siblings who like to hang out with her in her crate and play tug-of-war. Lilah found her home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA.

Tabasco

Tabasco found his wonderful new home through Bideawee in New York City. He is such a sweetheart. Tabasco was living with someone in Puerto Rico who had lots of pets, but had to give them all up after he was in a bad car accident and was hospitalized. Lucky Tabasco, shown here with his new BFF, now lives in Jersey City, which he loves. He bonded very quickly to his new family.

Roo

Roo came up with his siblings to Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, Mass. and found a great home. He has a canine sibling, comfy places to sleep, lots of fluffy toys, and people who adore him.

Katie

Katie is one of our senior gals...We so wanted her to have a chance to enjoy a wonderful life. And she has it! Thanks to our partner, Shore Animal Volunteer Enterprise (S.A.V.E.) in Toms River, NJ, Katie has a great home where she is much loved.

Josie

Josie was adopted through When the Going Gets Ruff Dog Rescue in Maine. She now lives in a lovely home with a beautiful big yard and two canine sisters. She fits right in and gets along great with her new siblings. Tug-of-war is her favorite game--though it's a little uneven because Josie weighs 22 lbs and her big sis weighs about 80! Even so, she usually gets the upper hand.

Madison

Madison found her new home through our friends at SAVE Rescue Shelter in Toms River, NJ. Her new mom says that Madison is the sweetest dog in the world and that she will be loved and cherished forever in her new home.

Peaches

Please keep the noise down! Peaches is napping! She is so happy in the arms of her new parent. Peaches is enjoying a wonderful new life in New York, thanks to Bideawee, Inc. which found her this fantastic home.

Brewer

Brewer recently became a resident of Boston, where he is quickly becoming the most loving, loyal, and kind-hearted companion imaginable for his new mom. He found his home through our partner When the Going Gets Ruff Dog Rescue in Biddeford, Maine. Brewer is so easy going and well mannered that he may become a certified therapy dog so he can go with his mom to visit people in nursing homes and brighten their day. Just looking at his photo brightens our day!

Benjie

Here is Benjie on one of the most important car rides of his life. His ride to his forever home! This cutie pie found his family through the Humane Society for Greater Nashua.

Tango

Tango was adopted through When the Going Gets Ruff Dog Rescue in Biddeford, Maine. He is doing great in his new home. When he isn't power napping, he is doing zoomies in his mom's bedroom.

Tess

We heard from Tess's new family that they are extremely happy with her! Tess found her home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA.

Rookie

Rookie was rescued from a busy road with his three brothers. They all went to the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. All his brothers had been adopted when a family came by to meet him. While they were deciding if he was the right match, their little girl began to cry because she wanted to take Rookie home. He immediately approached her and offered his love. This kind response sealed the deal. Rookie has been drying tears and showing love ever since in his wonderful new home. He loves everyone (humans and dogs alike). He loves to run and play. He loves to sleep in the sun. He loves to play in the grass, in the woods, in the snow. He is a happy boy, who adores his human sister..

Chula

Chula is living a fabulous new life in New York City where she has a beautiful apartment, comfy bed, and all the toys she could ever want. Chula is very smart and eager to please. She is learning to sit and give paw. Since her new mom is also from Puerto Rico, they have a lot to talk about. Her new parents adore her! Who wouldn't??? She has lots of toys and she is sooo smart she loves to lay on my lap.

Luna

Luna is one of a litter of nine adorable puppies that recently traveled to Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. She bonded immediately with new brother Sebastian. Luna is extremely intelligent, calm, and loves to be around children! Lucky girl now gets to go to work with her mom some days.

Killie Marie

Killie Marie recently moved to Queens, where she lives with her new parents, two human siblings, and Levi, her older schnauzer brother. It's such a gift for her. She had her own home and loving parent in Puerto Rico, but her Person passed away sadly, leaving Killie Marie on her own. Now she is almost never alone! Her parents are artists, who work from their home studios. And, she has her very own backyard. Killie Marie found her home through our partner Bideawee, Inc. in Manhattan.

John

John (in the foreground) found his home through When the Going Gets Ruff Dog Rescue in Brunswick, Maine. He is a sweet pup who is settling in very well and learning very fast. He gets along great with his new dog brother Pablo and with one of his new feline siblings. He's not sure what to think of the other one. She is a bit prickly! He is able to go to work every day with his mom, which is super fun. He loves car rides and couch naps, as well as meeting new people.

Rico

Rico found his home through Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, MA about three years ago. Ever since then, he's been enjoying his wonderful new life with his forever dad, who is retired and therefore available 24/7 for walks, playtime, and cuddling.Rico has some very good canine friends who visit often too. Sometimes he goes to their house, but they have feline siblings that can be tempting to chase!

Homel

Homel traveled to the Humane Society of Nashville last summer, thanks to the Sato Project, which offered us space on a charter plane. Her new parents say that she is the sweetest, most loving dog and that she is living a wonderful life in the beautiful state of Tennessee!

Ruby

If this isn't Sato bliss, we aren't sure what is. This is Ruby on just her third day in her new home. Looks like she's settling in great! Her true personality emerges more every minute. She's already a whiz at "sit," can take the stairs like a champion, and holds her own during tug-of-war. She is a cuddler too. The only thing that isn't totally great in her new life is snow. It's kind of a difficult concept for a girl from the tropics, but we're betting she'll master that too. Ruby found her home through When the Going Gets Ruff Animal Rescue in Biddeford, Maine.

Adele

Adele found her home through the Humane Society Naples on October 20th, which was just a few days before her birthday apparently! Talk about the best birthday present ever...She has stolen her new mom's heart completely. She is eager to please, but has some separation anxiety. That can happen if you have had a really tough life and then suddenly end up in a wonderful home. It's almost too good to be true! Fortunately, her mom is very patient. 

Hayko

Hayko found his wonderful home through our partner Bideawee in Westhampton, New York. Hayko was rescued with his mom and three siblings in the town of Bayamon, PR. After this rough start to life, he's super happy to be in a loving home.

Tillie

Tillie found an amazing home through our dear friends at Mid-Atlantic Chinese Shar-pei Rescue Operation. Tillie's people say that she is the best decision they ever made. She’s truly one of the kindest and sweetest dogs around. She is about 15 months now and loves the park, people, other dogs, and chasing birds. She loves sleeping on the top of couches because she is clearly the queen of the house!

Maggie

Maggie found her forever home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA five years ago. Her parents were recently looking through her paperwork and found the letter we had sent to them all those years ago. They immediately reached out with the welcome news that Maggie has an amazing life. She keeps everyone entertained with her many tricks and she loves to snuggle and lick people. She has lots of cozy places for naps and an enviable toy collection.

Taco

We coincidentally heard from a second family who adopted one of our Satos five years ago and only now just found their adoption letter. Here is Taco, whom his parents describe as the perfect pup! He is the cuddliest dog and enjoys curling up in a ball between his parent’s legs. He is more like a child than a dog and gladly sleeps between his mom and dad in bed. Although Taco is almost five he has the energy of a puppy and is spoiled with toys. He loves playing fetch, especially with a ball he can squeak. He also loves going on many adventures and outings.

Bourdon

Bourdon made it to his forever home! Here he is on one of his new adventures, exploring the lovely coastline of Gloucester, MA. He found his home through Cape Ann Animal Aid, and, boy, did he hit the jackpot! He has a new brother Rocky, who is a 10 year old chihuahua/terrier mix. And either his new mom or his new dad is always around, so he is never lonely. The whole family goes on a lot of adventures, running on the beach everyday in the winter and hiking in the summer. Bourdon and Rocky go everywhere with their parents. Life is great!

Jack

This is Jack. He found his forever home two years ago through the Sterling animal shelter in Sterling Massachusetts. Although he can be quite handful, he is a beloved member of his family. He loves getting into loads of trouble and trying to eat everything in sight. But at the end of the day all is forgiven when he snuggles up right next to you.

Abby

Abby found her wonderful new home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. She is a love bug--sweet, spunky, and smart. And she gets along well with her new canine sibling, as well as with her other new family members, which include goats and chickens.

Cody

Cody, through no fault of his own, had to wait a very long time in Puerto Rico before he could leave and find his forever home. But that long wait really paid off recently when he was adopted into a family with a human brother and sister, who give him lots of attention. He also has an 11-year-old canine sibling to show him the ropes. Cody found his home through the Humane Society in Naples, FL.

Lily has only been in her wonderful new home for about one week, but she already has a huge wardrobe of sweaters, more toys than she could ever imagine, and plenty of comfy places to nap. She is also with her new mom every second. It's heaven! Lily found her home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA.

Rooke

Gorgeous Rooke was flown out of Puerto Rico after hurricane Maria. He went to the Humane Society in Atlanta, GA where he found a great home and a new BFF.

Vic

Vic was living with about a dozen little dogs in a small apartment with his elderly owner. But one day the ceiling fell in on her and she ended up in the hospital. A social worker decided that she could no longer keep her dogs and we stepped in. Vic went to our amazing partner, the Humane Society of Naples, Florida where he found a home with someone who understood that he had been through a lot. She gave him time to gain his confidence and begin enjoying his new full life. Now, he goes to the beach in the evenings to watch the sun set. He loves car rides and exploring the shops and outdoor cafes of Naples. His tail almost never stops wagging.

Mico

Mico found a forever home in the beautiful coastal town of Cape Elizabeth, Maine. He is a bundle of positive energy who loves to be totally involved in whatever is going on.

Charlie

Charlie arrived in Massachusetts right after hurricane Maria and found a wonderful home through the Sterling Animal Shelter. He is a priceless treasure to his mom!

Rabel and Goose

Rabel (black dog) and Goose (brown dog) both found their homes through the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. Rabel went home four years ago and Goose went home one year ago. They are best friends.

Mary

Mary is doing great and loving her new home! She is very committed to her training and doing super well at it. She’s even gotten over her fear of hats! She loves meeting new people and dogs. Her neighbor is a 45lb lab mix puppy and they play together all the time. Mary found her home through Ark Animal Shelter in Cherryfield, Maine. Here are acouple pictures of her in the new home.

John Boy

This little cutie with the charismatic head tilt is John Boy.He found his home through the Humane Society of Greater Nashua. He is such a good boy, who is already much loved by his new family. He has a large fenced in back yard, and a pellet stove to keep him warm through the cold New Hampshire winter. He rides in the car like a little gentlemen.

Frida

Beacon was adopted from the Animal Rescue League in Boston and given her lovely name in honor of one of the main streets in her new hometowm. She just hit 60 pounds! She enjoys playing with her canine sibling, snuggling with her cat siblings, and going for regular hikes in the woods. She does a ton of training and she loves it. She has a wonderful life and is a lovely dog!

Ginny

Ginny found her home through the ASPCA in Monmouth County New Jersey in February of 2017. She has been a tremendous blessing in the life of her family. She is a love bug who enjoys to cuddle. Ginny can make the worst day all better the second you see her. She has played a particularly critical role in helping the family manage a serious health issue. She has given them comfort and love during very difficult days. She licks away her mom's tears. She is such a blessing.

Charlie

Charlie (pictured here between his two canine siblings) just celebrated his third birthday. He loves being outdoors where he can hike, swim and play in the snow. No mud puddle is safe from him! He is also a big napper, who loves to curl up with his feline brothers. Charlie found his home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass.

Cody

Little Cody ended up in a special home in Maine. His new dad is the kind person who drives down to Boston in all kinds of weather and at all hours to pick up the Satos that we send to our amazing partner, Tall Tails Beagle Rescue. So Cody is a lucky guy, even though his first experience in 15 degree weather was kind of a shocker! He now has a warm winter coat and a toy collection about five times as big as he is. He also has new feline and canine siblings--all rescues!--and a warm fireplace to sleep in front of.

Abbie

Abbie's new family absolutely adores her. It's easy to see why! Her story touched their hearts. They even checked out google maps to try to find the spot where she was rescued in Puerto Rico. They can't say enough good things about her!

Dinasty

We heard from Dinasty's new mom that this little girl is the sweetest puppy. She also loves to play with her new canine sibling and fits right in to her wonderful new home. Dinasty has many naps, play dates, and long walks in her future.

Aurora

Aurora...a.k.a. Rory has a fabulous new home, new family, and new BFF. Her family loves her very much and is so grateful that she is in their lives.

Haley

Haley is doing great. She has conquered her early shyness and loves to cuddle, play, run around, do tricks, and sleep. Her new mom says that she is never bored when Haley is around!

Chiqui

Chiquie found a great home through the New Hampshire SPCA. She is settling in very well and is energetic and happy. Her new parents love her very much! She and her new dad have so much in common--both great up in Puerto Rico. Chiqui gets into everything and is especially thrilled that someone put up a Christmas tree all for her!

Eva Luna

Someone tossed little Eva Luna out on a patch of grass and left her to fend for herself. Fortunately, one of our volunteers found her and got her to safety. Now, this little cutie pie is beginning an amazing new chapter of life. She has moved to Massachusetts into a home with two other Satos. She already has a full collection of toys, lots of warm clothes, and more love than she could possible imagine!

Pulgui

Pulgui has been in her forever home just over two months. Her new mom says that this little Sata has proven to be nothing but the best to her new family. Pulgui's mom knew that she was "the one" the very second they laid eyes on one another. Pulgui got very excited when because her mom speaks Spanish.

Finn

Finn now has a human sister and a four-legged brother. He is settling into his new home and wonderful new life very well. He has claimed this little piece of territory on the couch as his very own. It is the sight of many naps and much contemplative thought. His new mom says that even though he has only been in his new home for a couple of days, it seems like he has always been with them. 

Nellie

Nellie was personally escorted to Boston by our volunteer Aaron. Lucky girl! She then went to Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA where she spent about two seconds before being adopted into a wonderful home. Her new family adores her. It's easy to see why. She has settled in very well. She now has a huge toy collection and all the beautiful quilts and blankets she could ever want. She is a great napper and cuddler.

Derry

Derry found his amazing home through the Sterling Animal Shelter, Sterling MA in April 2019. He is doing fantastic! He instantly liked people, cats, and other dogs. He is also good with children. In other words, he is pretty much perfect!

Piper

Piper is about to celebrate her fourth "Gotcha" day and she has a special outfit prepared. Piper found her home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. She was just ten pounds when she arrived there, but has filled out to about 60. Her parents recently did a DNA test on her and it turns out that she is a lovely mix of Chow Chow, mini poodle, boxer, terrier and white Swiss Shepard. She has brought much love into her family over the last four years and has been a wonderful big sister to her two rescue kitten siblings, who adore her.

Papitin

Papitin is getting use to the spoiled life in Maine. And he sure deserves it. Papi was rescued with his four siblings near a bakery. The poor pups ended up being very sick, but our amazing volunteer Marta nursed them through it all. Papi is a specail pup who is getting all the attention and love he needs.

Dinasty

Dinasty has been in her new home for about a week and has already proven that she is a super sweet and very loving puppy. She loves to play with her new canine sibling and fits right into the family. I hope you enjoy these pictures and thank you very much for the letter!

Abbie

Abbie has been in her new home for about a week and is fitting right in. Her new family can't say enough good things about her! They absolutely love her. 

Kloe

Kloe found a terrific home through our partner "When the going gets ruff rescue" in Biddeford, Maine. She was a little timid for the first couple of days, but now she is completely relaxed, as you can see here. In fact, Kloe is a consummate cuddle bug, who loves to nap and get under the covers. She is a sweet, calm puppy who loves everyone, especially her new canine brother Albert. Albert is thrilled to have a full-time buddy in the house.

Tucker

Tucker was adopted from Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, MA in December 2015. He has been bringing his family many smiles, laughs, and kisses every day since then. He lives in Belchertown, MA with a canine brother named Winston and a human sister. They are all smitten with each other.  

Kiny

We heard from Rylee on the very same day that she adopted Kiny. She wrote us to say that she has never been so excited about something and that Kiny is amazing. Kiny found her wonderful new home through our newest rescue partner, When the Going Gets Ruff in Biddeford, Maine. We look forward to many updates on this lucky Sato and her fabulous new life.

Jasper

According to his new parents, Jasper is the love of their lives. He is a wonderful dog who is friendly with strangers, kids, and other dogs. He is working on basic training and doing great. He is very eager to please. Jasper came into a home that had recently lost its previous canine resident, an 8-year-old pup named Chloe who died unexpectedly. Of course, everyone was devastated by her loss and Jasper has filled a very important void. He was adopted from the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA.

Leonardo

It's love all right! Here is handsome Leonardo enjoying a special moment with his new person.

Teefran

Teefran has a new home in Columbia Falls Maine and a new BFF with whom he shares the backseat on car rides. He is very happy. Teefran is a master cuddler, who loves being wrapped up in a fluffy blanket. He is curious and respectful around his new equine siblings and he is totally in love with his kitty sister Nala. We were a little surprised (but delighted) to hear this, because the poor pup had been attacked by a cat back in Puerto Rico and seemed pretty scared around them as a result. But Nala totally won him over within just three days. Now the two are very happy napping and playing together. Teefran found his home through Ark Animal Shelter. 

Oscar

Oscar found his forever home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. He lives with two dogs from Puerto Rico and a cat that lived on the streets in Boston. He is well taken care of and loved.

Maya

Maya had to wait well over a year for her chance to leave Puerto Rico and start a new life. She and her sister were actually left abandoned right after the hurricane hit. But the wait was well worth it...this lucky girl had the best summer ever. She got to hang out with her new parents in a beautiful back yard, sleep on comfy quilts, and have picnics at the beach. Maya was adopted through the Humane Society of Ocean City in Ocean City, NJ.

Malia

Malia was adopted as a 5 month old puppy and just reached her very first birthday. She arrived in our care as a very young pup suffering from a few broken bones, so we are super happy to see her looking so healthy now. She is now an irreplaceable part of her new family and loving life in her new home where she gets to hang out with her feline sibling.

Charlie

Charlie was adopted from the Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, MA back in 2013...but her parents say it seems like just yesterday. She is a most loved baby girl.

Sierra

Sierra (on the right next to sister Sasha) just celebrated one month in her new forever family. She is fitting in so well. She is the sweetest pup! Sierra and Sasha have become best buddies and love snuggling together. Sierra found her wonderful home through Caribbean Connection Puppy Rescue.

Pipa

Here's Pipa doing her very best to try and claim her mom's recliner as her very own! Pipa is adorable and very, very smart.  She was going to the door to go out, within a few days. She is also a snuggly girl and a joy to have in the family. Pipa found her home through the Monmouth County SPCA in New Jersey.

Mikka

Mikka was adopted into a loving home with a mom and dad and two adult human siblings who visit her all the time. Her parents make a point of telling her every day how much they love her and how happy they are that she came into their lives. Her nickname is "Little Cookie" because she is so sweet they could eat her up. Mikka jumps like a kangaroo! Living in the big city, she likes taking long walks and visiting her many friends at the dog park.

Scrappy

Scrappy has been in his forever home now for two weeks and that has been more than enough time for his new parents to be totally in love. Scrappy found his home through the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass.

Wynnie

Wynnie found her forever home in 2004 and she has been most deservedly spoiled and adored ever since. She will turn 17 in a couple of months and we are pretty sure that her parents are planning a big birthday party.

Andy

What could possibly be better on a hot day in summer than a mud bath??? Andy (in front) and his adopted little sister love this experience during their hikes in Montana. He sits down ever so gingerly in each one. Andy was adopted through Tall Tails Beagle Rescue in Freeport, Maine, but later moved to big sky country, his mom's beautiful home state, where he fell in love with hiking, the great outdoors, and chasing rabbits. His mom says that Andy has changed her life...Andy has even been referred to as "the best dog on the planet!"

Tiffany

It's official. Sata Tiffany has chosen Caroline to be her new forever person. Here's the photo where it happened at the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. Tiffany now has a new canine big sister whom she adores and plenty of yummy bones to chew on. She is a lovely dog who completes her new family.

Sophia

Draco

Draco was rescued from along the highway. He was very small and not in very good shape. He was skinny and had some skin issues. But this lucky boy was nursed to health and flew up to Boston to go to Tall Tails Beagle Rescue in Maine. He was fostered by someone who works for the organization and she quickly fell in love with him and joined that very special category of "foster failures." She gave him a new name--Luke--and a wonderful new life.

Mama

We received a plea for help from a woman visiting Puerto Rico. She had found a lovely dog that had been abandoned on the beach and was feeding it. One of our volunteers worked tirelessly to get the dog and finally, when Mama was healthy enough and ready to travel, she flew to Philadelphia to live with the woman who originally found her. It's working out so well. Mama is super sweet, loves to walk and cuddle and runs when her parents whistle or call her name! She still thanks her mom for feeding her and LOVES to eat grilled chicken! She fits in perfectly in her wonderful new life in Philly!!!!

Bowie

Bowie's new people were so determined to meet him at the New Hampshire SPCA that they traveled to Stratham, NH from Salisbury, MA right after one of them had broken a leg and the other was recovering from back surgery! They had a chance to visit with him and then go home to get the house ready to adopt him the very next day. Bowie has some anxieties that date to his sad past, but his new family is super understanding. He has a fenced in yard where he can settle in and feel safe. He is so funny, loving and enthusiastic and is now a member of the family - or rather his people are members of his pack! He is king of the couch and the bed, insists on hiding his special treats in blankets and couch cushions, quickly learned to chase squirrels and chipmunks, is a an excellent home security system. He was a little on the heavy side when he first arrived, but now that he is so active, he has lost weight and become very agile. He can jump five feet in the air! He uses his jump to see through the doors and windows and to show how very excited he is about dinner time!

Jack and Alpha

Jack (on the left) and Alpha form a lovely two Sato family. They were both adopted through the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. Jack was first, arriving five years ago, and Alpha is just one month into her amazing new life. She gets to hang out with her big brother, go to the beach, chase balls, go on walks....and bond with her new mom Jillisa.

Opie

Opie found her home at the end of May after arriving at the Monmouth county SPCA in Eatontown, NJ. She is doing very well in her new home. Her new mom did a DNA test for Opie and it turns out that she is part Chinese Shar-Pei, part Siberian Husky, part Cocker Spaniel, part lab, and part Chow Chow. What a great mix!

Dylan

Dylan now lives in Massachusetts with his new forever mom and dad. He has a fenced in yard and, in the good weather, his parents prop open the back door and he can go out or in anytime he wants. That means he gets to look at the flowers, take a tour of the patio, and enjoy the Fourth of July decorations. Even better, his new mom is home all day, so he can shadow her and get plenty of cuddles. He also now has an RV, so he is going to take up camping.

Coco Bear

​Coco Bear is now in her new home in Ft Myers Florida. She has been a little bundle of joy and even the resident cats like her! Coco will live a great life and she will be loved as much as she gives--which is a lot! Here she is on her very first trip to Petsmart to stock up on toys after having her very first doggy custard!

Meche

Meche is a very rambunctious soul but kind and loving as well. She is very funny and just wants to play all day. When she isn't sleeping on the couch she's doing laps in her nice new backyard. She loves to go outside to play fetch; she goes crazy with excitement when chasing a ball or frisbee. Meche is her new mom's best friend--and vice versa. You can feel the love in this very first photo of the two of them together, taken at the Humane Society in Naples FL.

Remi

​Remi found his forever home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. He loves to play in the woods, play tug-a-war and cuddle with his new older brother Buddy--and sleep in the weirdest positions. He is the sweetest new addition to his family.

Taffy

Taffy was rescued after a Hurricane Irma and made her way to the Humane Society in Naples, FL where she met her lovely new parents. She now has a huge dog-run, a pool area, plenty of comfortable chairs and a wonderful bed that she shares with mom and dad. It took her some time to fully trust her new family, but now she is a big lap dog that loves to get and give kisses. Her parents are retired, and their adult son and seven-year-old granddaughter also live with Taffy. Two other grandchildren visit her too. Her new parents have had animals in their lives for about 50 years and understand Taffy and her many moods. They make her feel loved and she loves them right back.

Bonita

Bonita--who goes by Bo for short--is living the good life in Metuchen NJ. Here she is chilling in her special spot. Her new dad says that she is mostly a pleasure...they are learning to deal better with her few-and-far-between psycho dog moments! (Hey, we all have those moments, so no judgement here.) She's a quick learner and she's a very good, nay, best friend of an old man! Bo found her lovely home through Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue where she arrived with her seven litter mates, all of whom have found homes.

Pixie

In our life as an organization, we have rescued two Chinese Cresteds--and both have ended up in the same amazing home. Pixie is the latest. She moved to New Hampshire last month and could not be happier. She gets to run like the wind on the local beaches, hang out with her canine brothers and sisters, wave goodnight to her new bird friends, and spend hours hiding her favorite toy. Her parents are so sweet that they even pretend they can't find it!

Paul

Pauls new parents saw his photo online and fell in love instantly. When they met him at the shelter, he greeted them with such affection that they knew he was the one. Poor Paul got a little car sick on the ride home, but other than that he is adjusting well to his wonderful new life complete with a kitty cat sibling. Paul was adopted from Ark Animal Shelter in Cherryfield, Maine.

Reef

Reef is a sweet boy who is quickly integrating into his new family. In fact, he is very happy sitting under his new dad's arm. Reef now lives with the Barry Family in Reading, Massachusetts. He found his lovely home through Cape Ann Animal Aid.

Rosa

Rosa found a wonderful home through the Monmouth County SPCA in New Jersey. This lucky girl does not lack for anything...she has plenty of toys, bandanas, chews, and comfy beds. She is especially fond of her color coordinated accessories!

Nala

Where else are you going to find sharpei genes mixed in with chihuahua genes except in a Sato?? That's one of the reasons that we love them so much....they represent so many interesting combinations of dogs. Nala found out about her unusual heritage through a DNA test. She is a total doll, who has a closet full of fashionable outfits. She came to the Sato reunion, for instance, in a pink tutu! Nala had been surrendered to the Humane Society of Puerto Rico and found her way to Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. She and her mom have a very special bond.

Scooby

Scooby found an amazing, big, loving family to call his own thanks to our new partner Ocean City Humane Society. He now has two canine siblings: Charlie, a beagle mix, and Momo, a boarder collie mix who thinks Scooby is her very own baby. He also has a horse in the backyard. He is a little bit afraid of her, but we are sure they are on their way to becoming best friends. Scooby likes to play with everyone and get plenty of cuddles and nap times with his people too. They love Scooby very much.

Buddy

Buddy sustained a terrible injury, had one leg amputated, and then had to wait months and months and months for his chance to leave Puerto Rico. Fortunately, it all paid off....because he found the most wonderful home, through our friends at the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland in Maine. Buddy met his new mom during an outing to an assisted living center where he had gone to spread cheer among the residents. That's when he met the center's business manager and it was love at first sight. Buddy is now supremely happy. He has a large extended family with many people to love and a new BFF who is an older boxer named McKenzie. The only irritation in his new life is that his kitten sister Callie insists on playing with his tail. He tries to ignore her, but she is very persistent!

Papaya and Mango

Papaya and Mango found a wonderful home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, Mass. The two siblings have complementary personalities. Papaya is curious and adventurous. Mango is a little more cautious and wants to take her time getting used to new things. Both are super cute, very playful and affectionate. They love curling up together in cozy places.

Johnnie Walker

If this isn't the perfect expression of kitten bliss, we don't know what is! Here is Johnnie Walker (on the left) curled up with his new feline brother George, who was adopted at the same time. These two are loving their wonderful new family and enjoying living close to Boston, Massachusetts! Johnnie and George typically play together all day and then curl up together for a good night's sleep.

Rico

Rico now lives in the amazing city of New York, courtesy of our new partner Bidawee Inc. Rico is loving his wonderful new life. He meets so many interesting people and dogs and everyone tells him that his rescuers must have taken great care of him because he is so well adjusted and happy! He's an amazing dog, and is settling into his new life in Manhattan very well. He lives in a neighborhood by the sea that is full of dogs and is starting to make a lot of four-legged and two-legged friends.

Mulan

Mulan found her forever home in November 2018 through the Animal Shelter in Sterling Massachusetts. Since then, she has been being spoiled and loved--just as she should be! And the best part is that she loves her new family just as much as they love her. Mulán has learned lots of tricks. She can actually ring a bell when she needs to go outside to do her business. She also knows high five, handshake, sitting, rolling, and catching things in the air. She loves performing tricks, squeaky toys, playing catch, running around the yard and the playing in the snow! She loves lounging on the stairs...But one thing she absolutely hates is bath time. We totally understand.

Monty

​Monty loves his new family. He loves to play with the kids, learn tricks, go sledding in the snow (on his mom's lap), go to the beach and walk in the woods. In fact, he has a very full, nourishing new life! He goes everywhere with his family. This sweet boy brings much joy to his new household.

Axel

Axel can usually be found sitting on his dad's lap as he watches TV or works on the computer. Axel clearly adores his dad and we are happy to say that the feeling appears to be mutual! Axel stepped into the shoes of a much beloved--and deeply mourned--canine predecessor named Dexter who died of bladder cancer at the age of ten. It was a real blow to the family. But fortunately, they visited Tall Tails Beagle Rescue in Freeport, Maine and met Axel. Axel is a sweet little boy, who is smart, loving, and loyal.

Dobby

Dobby​ was named for the house elf ​in the Harry Potter​ series with whom she shares a resemblance. She is doing very well and loves her new mom and dad so much that she doesn't want to let them out of her sight for a second. She is slowly learning to trust that even if she doesn't see them, they will come back to her. ​​ Dobby is​ the princess of the house. She gets to snuggle wherever she wants and loves to cuddle under the covers. ​She is ​a sweet​ girl ​who has made her parents very happy. She found her home through the Humane Society in Naples, FL. ​

Victoria

Victoria found her home through the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland about a year ago. At just four pounds, she is ounce-for-ounce a great joy and a good girl. She has adjusted very well to Maine.

Berkeley

Berkeley found his forever home through one of our newer partners, SAVE Rescue Shelter in Toms River, NJ. Berkeley has been a joy to his new mother. He loves napping under the covers in bed with his new canine and feline siblings. Berkeley is considering a career as a service dog in the community so he can bring as much joy to other people as he has brought to his mom.

Chloe

Chloe is one of four rescue dogs in her new family. About a month after she was adopted, her family moved to Texas and went on a road trip all over the USA, which Chloe loved. She discovered snow for the first time in Virginia. She has taken on a key role in the pack, acting as a mom to her two small rescue siblings, while helping the older one (14 years) navigate the back yard now that his eyesight is bad. She snuggles with all of them and any human that will let her!

Canela

Canela flew to Maine after Hurricane Maria and found a wonderful forever home. She is very happy and very loved. She has some lovely outfits to wear during cold winters. She loves taking naps with her feline sibling, going for car rides, and snuggling under the covers.

Robina

Robina has the most amazing life. This lucky girl spends the winter traveling around Florida and Arizona in her parent's motor home. In the summer months, she is home in Canada. Her favorite thing to do on road trips is lie on the expansive dashboard--as you can see here--and watch the scenery go by. She gets super excited when she spots cows! She explores all sorts of amazing places with her parents. She loves her wading pool and lounge chair especially. In Canada, she has a huge fenced in yard. Her parents say that she is a wonderful dog who has filled their lives with love and joy. Robina found her home through the Humane Society in Naples, FL.

Chimie

Chimie found his forever home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. His new parents had been looking for a friend for their 3-year-old cat Mookie. They fell in love with Chimie immediately. He is a real snuggler and loves being held. He also loves toys! And now he loves Mookie! ​They are like two peas in a pod. A true Puerto Rican, Chimie has a way of finding the sun--here he is catching rays in his favorite spot in the window.

First came Primrose...

Miss Primrose made the trip from Puerto Rico to Northern Maine about two years ago. She went to our partner Humane Society, Waterville Area. She was fostered by someone who fell in love and says he could not ask for a better fur baby....

..then came Felix

Felix recently made the same long trip to the same wonderful shelter...and into the same loving home. Like his sister Primrose, Felix started out in foster, but he made everyone fall in love with him very quickly. Now he is an official member of the family. Felix is extremely friendly, affectionate, energetic, smart, funny and happy. Did we mention mischievous too? These two lucky Satos are both loved dearly in their new forever home.

Panela

Panela was found living in the midst of a lot of trash and junk in the woods where she was doing her best to protect her seven babies. So it is a lovely change for her to be able to get time at the beach! Here she is testing the waters of her new life....she found a wonderful home through our partner Humane Society of Naples, Florida. Her new mom says that Panela is a smart, sweet and loving dog!!!

Holly and Tammy

Holly and Tammy were lucky enough to be adopted together. They found their wonderful new home through the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. Their new parents were previous Sato owners. Their first Sato lived to be 15 and was dearly loved and cherished her entire life. Holly and Tammy can look forward to the same fate!

Magoo

Magoo was found abandoned on a beach as a young pup just before hurricane Maria devastated the island. His rescuer named him Magoo because of his squinty eyes, which reminded her of the famously nearsighted cartoon character Mr. Magoo. Magoo was very gentle and even shy considering his size. He flew to St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center in Madison, NJ where he was adopted by a staff member. It's very rewarding for all of us to see him doing so well after his tough start to life.

Ariana

​Lovely Ariana now lives in New Jersey. She found her wonderful new home through our partner SAVE Rescue Shelter. Ariana now has her very own human sister named Emily. She is getting lots of love and attention and plenty of time to nap on her new comfy bed.​

Chica

Chica found her forever home in Massachusetts about a year ago. She is very happy. Her favorite thing to do--aside from wearing a sombrero!--is to sit on the lap of her new mom and cuddle all day.

Louie

Louie found his forever home thanks to Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, Mass. His new family are so happy to have him. He is very sweet and smart--and he has his own instagram account to document all the super cute things he does, like sitting with a big stuffed bear. He is considering a career as a therapy dog.

Louie

He is very sweet and smart--and he has his own instagram account to document all the super cute things he does, like sitting with a big stuffed bear. He is considering a career as a therapy dog.

Loki

Loki traveled all the way to Brunswick, Maine where he found a wonderful family through the Midcoast Humane. Loki is now the youngest baby in a large family that includes two human siblings and two fur siblings. His older feline sister, Tribble, isn't too sure about Loki, but she is being polite because Rizzo, the dog, likes him so much. Loki now has a fenced-in big backyard and all the pats and rubs and kisses he can handle.

Louie

Louie has come a long way from being rescued as a puppy from a busy street in Caguas, Puerto Rico in 2013. Six years later after he adopted his furever family at Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA, Louie (on the left) still enjoys a good nap with big sister, Ginger. When he isn’t getting his beauty sleep, he can be found running around his backyard; playing the “squeak” symphony on his toys; enjoying good eats; getting lots of belly rubs; and showering his family with kisses. While Louie has a loving family, he knows that there are many Satos still in need of homes and he encourages everyone to adopt one.

Cassie

Cassie landed in a pretty darn good spot in Central Massachusetts where her new parents serve her grilled cheese sandwiches! She was a little unsure of her good fortune at first, but now she is realizing that her forever home is for real. She has already been on a vacation where she walked on the beach and chased the waves. She loves car rides and playing with her canine neighbor Kip. The snow is OK, but the cold is no fun at all....which means she really loves having a fireplace in front of the couch. Cassie found her home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass.

Dakota

Clearly, Dakota lights up the room! This special girl ​was rescued from the streets of Cabo Rojo and sent to St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center in Madison, NJ. Because she had heartworm, her new parents were asked to foster her for two months of treatment and recovery. During that time, they fell in love. Dakota is incredibly sweet, humble, and hugely appreciative of her wonderful new life. She loves to lounge anywhere she can get comfy, including right on top of her parents! She loves toys that she can chew on--her dad has started baking her homemade healthy treats. And she loves going on walks, playing with her dog friends and frolicking in the snow.

Gustavo

Gustavo is rocking one of the Satos most notorious traits--a ginormous earspan! It is quite a crowdpleaser in his new home of New Hampshire, where he is enjoying lots of plush toys, car rides, his very own big backyard, and plenty of love from his new mom. He's not super happy with the TV, but snow is turning out to be ok, even for a boy from Puerto Rico. Gustavo found his home through the Humane Society of Greater Nashua.

Big Mac

Big Mac and his siblings were living confined to a chicken coop when one of our amazing volunteers rescued them. She said that because they had caged for so long, they went absolutely crazy when she let them out. They ran and ran and ran and played and wrestled and didn't stop until they fell into a little heap of exhaustion!

Milo UPDATE

Milo just celebrated his first anniversary in his new home! Here he is on his very first day home last year....

...and here he is today. His mom says that he is a total love and that his family is thankful to have him every single day.

Oscar

With his lovely fur coat, Oscar should not have been living in the tropics. So he moved to New Hampshire where he is super happy in his lovely new home. He has a canine sibling to play with, a fireplace to lie in front of, and parents that love him. Oscar found his home through the New Hampshire SPCA in Stratham.

Rambo

Rambo has a wonderful big new family in Northern Maine--so who cares if it's freezing outside??! It's all good when you have cozy places to curl up on and plenty of love. Rambo lives with three teenage human brothers and four feline siblings. They say he is the perfect fit with their family. (Even the kitty cats approve.) Rambo found his home through the Humane Society in Waterville Maine.

Otis

​Otis moved to Maine last fall and couldn't be happier with his decision! He has a canine sister/BFF named Ella who he adores. And he has his own big yard and also goes on long walks everyday. He loves riding in the car and visiting all his friends--human and canine. ​He has lots of toys, which he proudly carries around, even taking them outside in case someone goes by who might enjoy seeing them!

Banner

Banner was adopted into his forever home right after Christmas. He loves it! He has adjusted to his new home and wonderful new life very quickly. He has comfy beds to nap in, human playmates for video games and playtime, and laps to cuddle up on for a good snooze.

Autumn

Autumn found her forever home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass and now lives in the great town of Attleboro. Her family adore her and say that she is a great puppy. Everyone who sees her thinks she is absolutely beautiful. And that's because she is!

Ellie

Ellie (on the right) was adopted into a home with two other dogs and four older kids. They absolutely love her! She is not a fan of the cold or rain, so her new family bought her a warm coat. Ellie feels VERY at home. She loves to instigate play with her new canine siblings--naps are ok too! Ellie found her home through Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Adoption Center in Huntington, NY.

Casey

After one year in her forever home, Casey is doing really well and had a lovely Christmas.

Aiken

Ever since arriving in Massachusetts, Aiken has been seeing the sites in Boston and sitting on Santa's lap to tell him what a good boy this Sato has been. Well...maybe there was a lapse or two! But he is a very sweet little devil...Aiken found his home through the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA.

Leonard

Leonard was a very special rescue. He and his littermates were found by one of our volunteers after their mother had been poisoned. These orphans were desperate. We had recently rescued another mother and her puppies, so we added Leonard and his siblings into the mix. The mother dog was so amazing. She completely accepted the extra litter! She nursed 11 puppies! When Leonard was ready to travel, he went to the Monmouth County SPCA in New Jersey and was adopted into a wonderful home. Leonard has a feline sister now and parents who adore him.

Chloe

Chloe found her new home through the Monmouth County SPCA in Eatontown, NJ. She has already brought much joy into the lives of her new family and is helping soothe the ache from the loss of their previous dog Holly. Chloe's family had actually visited Puerto Rico many times and were distressed by the many abandoned animals. So they are proud to adopt a Puerto Rican Sato--even though they fell in love with her even before they found out where she was from.

Evee

Evee has so many new human siblings that she is never alone, never bored, and never lacking in love. Lucky girl!! Every morning Evee gets very excited to wake up to her people!! This sweetie was adopted from the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass.

Pebbles

Pebbles (on the left) was adopted from Sterling Animal Shelter in 2015, so she recently celebrated her third anniversary in her forever home. She is doing great...she is such a sweet and feisty pup and her parents are completely in love with her. She has a little sister, Lily, who is a rescue from Georgia. Pebbles dropped by to see us at Woofstock this year and we hope she comes again to say hi next year.

Nova

Nova flew to the Humane Society of Naples Florida where she was adopted by a staff member. She now lives with several canine siblings, so she gets plenty of playtime. They all like to nap together and sit side by side to encourage their mom to give out treats. We heard about Nova through a FEMA volunteer who found her abandoned with her puppies in a very dangerous place where lots of dogs don't make it. One of our volunteers fostered her and helped get her ready for her big moment.

Marley

​These days ​​Marley​​ spends most ​of ​her time lounging around but LOVES looking out the window onto the neighborhood from ​her new top floor apartment. ​This lucky girl lives just one block from the Jersey Shore, where she loves to play. She plays with her dad all day​--they chase each other back and forth--and then she loves the food her mommy cooks for her. ​She is very happy to have a pretty sweater to keep her warm.​

Xena

Xena was named for the fictional “warrior princess” character. Her new family felt the name fit because she is the smartest ball of fire they have ever seen! Xena was rescued by one of our volunteers who noticed that, even as a little puppy, her "owners" kept her tied up all the time. That was a terrible thing to do to this energetic, playful pup, who loves to run around and chew things. Fortunately, she is in a wonderful home now, which she found through the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland.

Princess Bella

Princess Bella found her forever home just in time to celebrate her best holiday season ever. Bella is great with people and other dogs, and she is learning to like her new cat siblings. She barks at them, while wagging her tail, so that's a good sign. Her new family loves that she is a bit of a couch potato. They say she has taken to sleeping on the couch like a champ! She has her own dog bed, but prefers cuddling with her people on the couch. Bella found her home through Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, Mass.

Lucy

One minute Lucy was sunning herself in the tropics, and the next thing she knew, she was wearing a winter coat and experiencing snow. She wouldn't have it any other way! This lucky girl went to our amazing partner, the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, and found a wonderful home where she is loved and is happy!

Cook

We love happy endings for our gatos…Cook is home with his forever family! He has managed to bring them much joy in a very short time. He is a sweet cuddly boy who always wants to be wherever his new parents are. He’s very playful and loves to carry his toys around the house in his mouth. He has the softest fur ever and is an all-around beautiful boy.

Maisy

Maisy is getting the best holiday gift ever--a loving home! We heard from her new family that she is an absolute joy and has already brought much happiness into the house. Her family promises to take great care of her and give her all the love she deserves. And that is a wonderful holiday gift to us!

Turna

Turna's new parents had been discussing dog adoption for about four years. On the day that they decided their lives were stable enough to actually take the step, they went to the Animal Rescue League of Boston. There they learned that every dog had already gone on to their new homes. There was only one left, and she was being saved for another couple. That dog was Turna. They decided to visit her anyways and immediately fell head over heels in love. They left their names just in case and then fate took over. Twenty minutes after they got back home, they received a call saying that Turna was theirs! When they went back, Turna flew into their arms and covered them with kisses. She is a master cuddler and always likes to keep her mom and dad within eyesight. She has recently discovered leaves and is fascinated by every single one of them. She is a big fan of the Lord of the Rings movies and loves it when her mom reads her selections from Don Quixote.

Carlos Corea

Carlos Corea is loving his new home in Massachusetts where he has his own fenced-in yard that can be accessed at any moment by way of his very own doggy door. Carlos loves to play fetch and knows exactly how to drop the ball at the feet of one of his parents so that they can throw it again. He is not only super cute, but also one smart cookie.

Amaya

Amaya can hardly contain her excitement as she poses for her very first photo with her new parents. They had just adopted her from Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, Mass. She's doing really well adjusting to her new home and she is much loved! She loves to go outside and explore her new surroundings. And she's learning the joys of playing with a kong and finding hidden treats!

Roxy

Roxy and her siblings and mother were rescued from under a bridge off a major highway in 2010. Roxy came to Mass. and was adopted into a home, but the new baby there developed an allergy to her. So, Roxy went to a GREAT new home. Her parents tell us that Roxy is the absolute love of their lives. She shares her home with a rescued cat named Mabel with whom she is very close.

Pi

Pi is having a blast in his wonderful new home. He gets tucked into bed under a cozy blanket, plays with his BFF human brother, and hangs out with his chew toys. He was originally dumped in a very dangerous place, so we are especially grateful to see him thriving and safe. He is a loving, fun, adorable dog and for an island dog, he certainly loves playing in the snow!

Priya

Priya is an adorable and high energy puppy! That is her in the middle of a big cuddle with her doggie brother and sister. It took her a couple weeks to come out of her shell- but her personality is blossoming everyday. Her favorite things to do are sit pretty for treats and encourage her older siblings to wrestle. Priya's mom works from home and says that there are days when she doesn't get much work done because Priya wants all the attention!

Layla

Layla ventured north from Puerto Rico to the great state of Maine. She found her home through Tall Tail Beagle Rescue in Freeport. Layla has brought so much joy into the lives of her great family. They say their love for her is immeasurable. She is so smart, sweet, playful and loving. Right now Layla is enjoying the first few snowfalls of the year. She loves to run laps in the snow.

Mitzi

Mitzi found her home through St. Hubert's Animal Shelter in Madison, NJ. And she didn't have to wait long. This cutie was scooped up very quickly--probably because she is so darn sweet.

Benji

Benji was part of our Sato salute to Puerto Rican baseball players. His original name was Enrique Hernandez, which is also the name of a player for the LA Dodgers. He flew to Boston with his brother Alex Cora, who was named for the manager of the Red Sox. They went to our partner the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. and found homes within about two minutes of becoming available for adoption! Benji is a lovebug who likes giving kisses to his new mom.

Mitzi

Mitzi found her home through St. Hubert's Animal Shelter in Madison, NJ. And she didn't have to wait long. This cutie was scooped up very quickly. She's very sweet. We love her so much and are happy to have her in our home. Thanks for your efforts.

Ellie

Ellie flew to the US mainland on one of our charter flights after Hurricane Maria. She was lucky enough to go to the Coastal Humane Society in Brunswick Maine where she found a great home. Ellie is a very sweet dog who loves to give everyone she meets kisses and despite having gone through quite a bit in her young life, trusts everyone. She has a big fenced in backyard to run in and even likes the snow as long as it's not too wet!

Cora

Cora (on the right) was adopted into a home that already had one Sato named Ruxin--and wanted a second. She and her new brother bonded immediately. He is obsessed with her! He can't stop kissing her and he doesn't even mind when she takes all his toys and bones and places them in her bed. These two are having the best time exploring the woods together and hanging with their parents. Ruxin is helping Cora settle in to her wonderful new life.

Teddy

Teddy (in the foreground) was diagnosed with a serious heart condition not long after flying up to Mass. Our amazing partner, Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, went to great lengths to find him the perfect home where he can be spoiled and cherished for whatever time he has left. And that is exactly what is happening. He now has a very large family with two canine siblings and five human siblings. There is always someone around to play or cuddle with. He also has a large fenced in yard that has a bunch of sheds and brush to chase squirrels, chipmunks and birds. And he has tons of toys. He likes to pick up one and carry it around for awhile and then drop it in an unexpected new place.

Amapola

Amapola found a wonderful new home through the New Hampshire SPCA. She now has a 6-year-old human sibling and an 8-year-old canine sibling. She loves them both! Her dog brother is showing her the ropes, including how to get the most fun out of your toys. Amapola is a doll! Curls right up in her mom's lap, and has started standing up on her back legs to give Mom her front paws and kiss her.

Pesto and Paisley

Pesto and Paisley had much to be thankful for over the holidays. For starters, these Sato sisters were adopted together into a forever home in New Jersey where they have an older brother named C.C. (He's a dachshund.) They all sleep together and play together and C.C. has very kindly shown them the ropes. It's a great new life for these two who were found abandoned on a dead end road in Puerto Rico. They found their new home through SAVE Rescue Shelter.

Cookie

Cookie had a very rough time of it in Puerto Rico. She was abandoned in a neighborhood and soon hit by a car and badly hurt. We were contacted by one of the neighbors who wanted to help, but didn't have the financial resources to do so. So, All Sato Rescue covered everything, including surgery by an excellent orthopedic vet. Cookie had a very painful fracture, but after a long recovery in PR, she flew up to our partner in Portland Maine. At the shelter, she had the immense honor of being chosen as the very first dog of her new mom--shown here. Now they are the best of friends and Cookie gets to lounge at the beach and enjoy the wonderful life she was meant to have.

Lulu

Lulu was adopted through our amazing partner Pet Tails Rescue in New Hampshire. She found a home in Maine where she is truly cherished. Lulu and her new mom have already gone to the supermarket, a pet store and to the train station. Everyone she meets along our way falls in love with her. It's easy to see why!

Buddy

Buddy spent some time in foster care with his potential new family just to be sure that he wasn't going to terrorize their cats! But everyone quickly decided to make it a permanent arrangement. Buddy is a mellow guy, and his new family love him very much. They hate thinking about what he might have gone through before they found each other. Buddy was adopted through our partner Tall Tails Beagle Rescue in Freeport, Maine.

Mia Sophia

If you look closely at this amazing photo, you will see Sato Mia Sophia in the arms of her very best friend, a greyhound. They were completely inseparable until the greyhound passed away last August. In fact, her entire family adores her--and with good reason. She is a total angel. Mia Sophia found her home through Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury MA and now lives in Natick.

Sadie

Sadie and her siblings were found living in piles of garbage and dirt. Look where she lives now! In a gorgeous home in Gloucester, Mass. with a backyard big enough to chase tennis balls in. We were lucky enough to hear from her 17-year-old human sister, Alexandra, who told us that she and Sadie sleep together every night. Sadie is a huge water lover. Any time her family drives by the ocean, she runs around the car in circles of excitement. She also loves walks so much that she jumps on all fours when anyone takes out a leash.

Lucy

Lucy now lives in Ashland, MA with her new parents, human brothers James and Chase, and a four-year-old canine brother named Jax. It's a great family to be a part of. Everyone calls Lucy the friendly giant because of her sweet disposition and size, of course. She goes to doggy daycare where there is a huge fenced-in back yard and is living the good life.

Luna

Our favorite day is always adoption day. Here is Luna in the arms of one of her new best friends for life, leaving the shelter to go to her new forever home. Luna is a sweet dog and beloved family part of the family. She is going to be very pampered, and has lots of playmates, including two cats, a guinea pig, and--best of all--two human sisters who are taking great care of her.

Ramona

Ramona (on the right) has been enjoying her new life! She likes to spend it with her big sister, April looking out the window! When she isn't on duty overseeing the yard, she likes to cuddle up with her mom for a nice nap. She gets so much love now. She gets to go on fun road trips and she even has her own fashionable wardrobe.

Bailey

This is Bailey! She was adopted from Sterling Animal Shelter this past April and is now living a very spoiled life with two loving parents. She has spent her first summer in Massachusetts exploring mountains and getting tons of attention. She is very happy now.

Millie

Millie is her new mom's very first dog. And her mom says that she couldn't have asked for a happier, more intelligent dog. She feels as if she won the lottery when she adopted Millie from the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. At 9 months old, Millie had already earned her canine good citizenship certification. Now, she is working on getting her trick title! Millie is great at playing catch, keeping track of critters in her yard, and hanging with the cat. She even has her own instagram account.

Sabrina

Sabrina is thriving in her new home with her new friend Oscar the kitty. She loves meeting new people when she goes on walks and she loves meeting other dogs. In fact, she loves a lot of things! She loves the beach, horses, chewing on rawhide bones, and keeping critters out of her yard. She says thanks for rescuing me and my siblings.Sabrina was adopted through the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

Luna

Luna was adopted through the Animal Rescue League of Boston last winter. She is a joy to her new family, and she adores her new mom, dad, and human brother. Luna is sweet, fun and enjoys playing with other dogs, running through the surf at the beach and chewing on her squeaky toys. She is also taking obedience and agility classes where she is learning skills and and tricks.

Chili

We received some adorable photos of Chili in his comfy bed, surrounded by toys, as you can see here. We thought he looked pretty happy. But his mom said that since these photos were taken, she had gone out and bought him an even bigger, more comfy bed and even more toys! She says that Chili is already the love of her life.

Lola

Lola found her home through Tall Tails Beagle Rescue in Freeport, Maine in October 2015. She now lives in the Augusta, Maine area. Lola is so loved in her home where her parents have two grown children and a granddaughter who is now two years old. Lola’s name was one of the first words she said. Lola has fun playing with her older sister's black lab. Her parents hope to travel to Puerto Rico someday to see where Lola came from.

Auto

Auto has been a true joy in the lives of his new immediate family of 6, which also includes many nieces and nephews whose children visit often. Auto loves the kids, especially the short ones who's cookies he can reach! He has the best life and all the love his extended family can give him.

Coco

Coco's info was shared on facebook after she was abandoned. Our president Edi Vazquez took one look at that face and knew that Coco would be coming home with her. That fateful decision led to Coco being adopted into a wonderful forever home. She is now reportedly "the sweetest pup ever!" (So many Satos are!!!) Coco plays with her sister, Lily Rose (a cocker spaniel)a lot and then they sleep a lot. Life is good.

Milo

These days Milo is very spoiled...he is doing great in his wonderful new home where he is so loved. He sleeps on the beds and goes just about everywhere with his new family. He especially loves cheering on his new human brother during baseball games. Sometimes he takes a little break from the action to spread out on a blanket and get a belly rub!

Pebbles

Pebbles fit right in with her big canine brother Jax. He has been looking out for her and is very patient with her, even when she runs around him in circles and gets her leash all twisted up. (That's little Pebbles underneath Jax.) Jax will also sit to wait for her to catch up! Pebbles also has a big fenced in yard to run and play in and two cat siblings and two teenage human siblings.

Sadie

Sadie was transported to St. Hubert's Animal Shelter way station in Madison, NJ after the hurricane hit. She eventually made it to Father John's Animal House, where one of their volunteers saw her sweet face and knew that she had to adopt this sata. Sisi has the run of a 2 acre fenced in property in northwest New Jersey and is so happy. She is enrolled in obedience school for this fall. She is a special dog and loves everyone.

Connor

​Connor went to his new home during a "Clear the Shelters" event at our partner the Humane Society of Naples, FL. His new family saw him on their website the night before the event and instantly fell in love with him. After meeting him in person they knew he was the one. He joins a family of 4 humans and a 6 month old female (Rousey) that the family rescued in April. He has been great and they get along very well. Nap times together on the bed are a favorite activity. (That's Connor on the right.) Connor will have an amazing home, an amazing life, and be dearly loved. We couldn't be happier!

Carmen

This is Carmen with one of her 3 “babies.” She is totally devoted to them, carrying them from room to room, and bed to bed. Carmen joined her family last February. When they first saw her in the Humane Society of Naples, Florida, she was extremely shy. Captivated by her sad and fearful eyes, her parents took her home with them. Patience and love continue to work miracles. Carmen (named after the mayor of San Juan), can still be occasionally fearful, but she has blossomed into a great walker who loves to ride in the car, revels in her spa days at the groomer, and greets friends (and their dogs) without hesitation. Those once sad brown eyes? Today they sparkle with overflowing love and life.

Finn

​Finn is enjoying a wonderful new life after finding his forever family through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. He has spent the summer floating around the pool and taking boat rides with his sister Penny. He is a little bit of a troublemaker, but his family thinks this just adds to his charm!

Sage

Sage has only spent a week in her new home and her family already can't imagine life without her. She's picking up tricks very fast--knows "sit"and "down" on verbal and hand commands and is working on "stay." Her favorite game is a rope tug of war toy and she has a new canine BFF named Luna, who is the dog of one of her mom's friends. Sage is also enjoying car rides...and a trip to the dog park. ​

Popcorn

Popcorn went to the Austin Humane Society in Texas after Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico. This lucky pup was with her littermates when she caught the eye of her new mom, a first-time dog owner, who is giving this Sato many wonderful opportunities. For starters, Popcorn quickly aced her training classes. (Here she is on graduation day.) She is considering a career as a therapy dog, where she might be able to bring joy to people in nursing homes or hospitals. She is so playful and friendly that she helps other dogs build their confidence. Popcorn has also taken up jogging. Her new life includes bacon strip treats and a Kong stick toy. Her mom says that Popcorn is the puppy that she had "always dreamed of growing up!"

Milo

Milo was flown off the island in a charter plane in March. He landed in New Jersey and then traveled to Columbus, Ohio where he was adopted into a great home with a beautiful, big yard all for him.

Esther

Esther was part of a litter of adorable scruffy terriers that went to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland recently. This lucky girl found a home very fast. She now has a big human sister named Clara as well as a canine sister named Molly. Her new family was very excited to welcome her! Esther is a lovely little dog, who likes to power nap after a busy day.

Blaze

Blaze now has two human little brothers....he loves them so much. He's a very friendly and happy dog, who is enjoying walks, cuddles, naps, and having someone throw his tennis ball. He joins a family that had adopted a Sato earlier, so they are very familiar with the joys of these special Puerto Rican pups.

Rusty

Rusty may have left Puerto Rico for a new life, but he can still enjoy the sun year round. That's because this lucky pup now divides his time between his homes in Maine and Florida. He is a doll whose parents love him very much. They say he has brought lots of joy into the family--even though he loves to chew everything in sight!

Wilo

Just two days after Wilo got off the plane in Boston, he was living at his lovely new home on a lake in New Hampshire. There are birds and squirrels all around and oh how he loves to chase them! He also likes to go for walks on his leash and be outside with his parents. Inside he plays with toys and loves to snuggle on their laps. He is even learning to be comfortable in a boat and doesn't mind wearing his doggie life preserver while he works on his swimming skills. His new parents say that he has made their lives more active, healthy, and fun. They get to laugh at his antics all day!

Bristol

Bristol loves being part of her new family. She ​is sweet and happy all the time. She loves to play with other dogs, and is very good with people. She especially likes being outside and eating sticks. Bristol is healthy and is getting really big. Bristol was part of a big litter of nine puppies that were born right after her pregnant mom was rescued. She found her wonderful new home through the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

Hazel

Hazel really went through hell before making the journey from Puerto Rico to Maine. She was found stuck in a hole that she was unable to climb out of. She had several wounds and was really suffering. Not anymore! Hazel is very, very bonded with her new human sister. They share everything together. Hazel loves greeting everyone with a sweet lick to the hand. She is very happy in her new home, which is in South Portland, near all sorts of shops, beaches, and even a light house. Her new dad works from home, so she always has company. And sometimes, when people's backs are turned, she'll steal someone's sock or mitten and try to eat it!

Layla

This photo really makes us melt. It's Layla in the arms of her new brother. Layla was adopted from the Monmouth County SPCA in New Jersey in late April. In her new home, she is loved through and through. She has made her new family complete.

Paolo

Paolo cannot get enough of his pretty new mom. His favorite thing to do is pass out on top of her or sit in her lap for car rides. This lucky boy found his human soulmate through the Humane Society in Waterville, Maine. His mom says he is absolutely the sweetest pup in the world and that he fits right in with a busy family lifestyle that includes plenty of down time too. (He gets tucked in under his own covers at naptime!)

Moncho

Moncho was adopted by two humans in late March and has been enjoying his new home ever since. He settled in so quickly that he even slept in bed with his new humans the very first night. His humans spoil him with toys and treats every single day. It's a long way from his early days in Puerto Rico when he was found in bad shape, abandoned in a commercial area.

Maximus

Maximus is such a wonderful dog. When his new family first saw him at the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Ma, they knew they had to have him. He knew it too! He got very excited when everyone stopped by to visit. In his new life, Max gets to do a lot of hiking and camping, which he loves. He gets to hang out with his 13-year-old human sister all the time and that's the best thing ever. His family says that he has been a great addition.

Finn

Finn found a wonderful home through the NHSPCA in Stratham, NH. He is a sweet and sensitive guy whose new mom feels was destined to come into her life to help fill the terrible void left by the death of her 9-year-old previous pup. Finn has a brother who is a cat named Ollie. Finn goes to doggie day care during the week while his mom is at work to burn his energy off. The rest of the time, he goes everywhere with mom. Finn has his own Instagram account!

Pumpkin

Our rescuer Marta saved a very pregnant mother dog late last summer, who gave birth to seven adorable puppies right in the living room! That lucky family left the island in a charter plane a few weeks after the hurricane hit. We just heard from the father of one of the puppies, now known as Pumpkin. Pumpkin is a happy, healthy, and spoiled dog, who makes her new dad happy every day. She is very energetic and loving--also a little bit of a troublemaker ! She is loved by everyone in the household.

Rico

Rico was named to honor his island heritage. He found his wonderful home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. His new parents wrote to tell us that they are totally in love with this pup and that he is doing very well. Rico has a beautiful grassy yard to play in and plenty of squeaky toys to chew on.

Ruby and Roxy

Rubyand Roxy's new parents went to the Humane Society in Naples, Florida to find one dog--and went home with two! The Sheehan family was looking for a new friend for their 13-year-old dog Daisy, but quickly realized that two new friends would be even better. These Sato sisters have settled in very well and get along great with Daisy, who loves to watch them wrestle and play. She has even found her inner puppy again! When they aren't in play mode, they take power naps together on the sofa. In fact, that's really the only time they hold still long enough to have a photo taken.

Luna

Luna found her home through Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, Mass. She has been in her new home now for about one month and her family can no longer imagine a life without her. Luna has many distinctive nicknames including "Luna Babycakes."Her family says that she is a very special dog.

Thyra

Thyra moved into a home with three adult kids and a large fenced-in area to roam around in. She has been busy meeting new family members and their pets. She has made a great addition to her new forever family.

Sammy

Sammy now lives in Maine where he has a huge fenced in yard, lots of toys, good food, plenty of love, and a boxer big brother named Cowboy. Sammy came to All Sato Rescue through our partner the Humane Society of Puerto Rico who took in him and his siblings from a neglect case. Sammy has an interesting heritage. His dad is a terrier mix and his mom is a rottweiler mix and he is the very handsome result!

Polo

Polo's new mom is also from Puerto Rico and she very kindly reached out to us to let us know that this Sato is bringing lots of joy into his new home. Polo was adopted through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. His wonderful new life includes naps on a big bed with lots of pillows, a closet full of stylish clothes, and a great selection of squeaky toys.

Pemi

Pemi and her four babies were rescued by a lake and nursed to health by an All Sato Rescue volunteer. Pemi found a terrific home through the New Hampshire SPCA in Stratham, NH. In her new life, she likes to go for car rides and walks on the beach; play with her new dog BFF and run like the wind along 27 acres of park near the Pemigewasset River, for which she is named. She has a big family and gets lots of love from everyone.

Rico

Road trip! Rico has a special car seat to take in the view on drives around his new home state of New Hampshire. This lucky pup has a wonderful new family, thanks to the Humane Society for Greater Nashua. He has both human AND feline siblings, the latter of whom he has been known to chase! Just for fun, of course. Rico can find the joy in anything--from going on a hike, to cuddling with his new mom, to splashing the water out of his special drinking fountain. He showers his family with love.

Coco

Coco now has two feline siblings that are actually bigger than he is! They also have larger-than-life personalities, especially his sister Pickles (on the left). This guy is doing super well in his new home, which he found through the Animal Rescue League of Boston. His new mom says that Coco is perfect and everyone loves him...even Pickles!

Fivel

Fivel was transported to the Coastal Humane Society in Brunswick Maine after flying to Worcester on one of our charters after the hurricane. This lucky boy landed in a wonderful home where he has formed an exceptional bond with his new mom. Fivel's mom says that he is the biggest love and so very playful. They do doggie agility together and go hiking. He is also an excellent cuddler, who loves nothing more than to drift off curled up next to his mom's shoulder with his head firmly planted beside hers.

Marley

Marley found her home through the Humane Society of Naples, Florida. She made her way to the Sunshine State not long after Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico. Marley's new mom says that this little Sata is by far the smartest and sweetest dog she has ever met and that she is very happy to have Marley in the family.

Maverick

Maverick found a wonderful home through the Monmouth County SPCA facility at the Freehold Mall. He arrived as a small puppy with his 5 brothers, all of whom were quickly adopted. Maverick has grown to be about 40 pounds of love. He is very well behaved and enjoys meeting people. His new mom says that her family would not be complete without him in it.​

Kylo Ren

Within a matter of days, Kylo Ren was so comfortable in his new home that he was taking blissful naps, belly up in his comfy new bed, lounging with his new canine sibling on the couch, and playing with a collection of toys almost as big as he is! ​

Navidad

Navidad found an exceptional home, thanks to our new partner Pet Tails Rescue in Northwood, NH. Navidad had a pretty tough early life, so we were all thrilled when she found a loving home with kind people who understand her past and are committed to helping her flourish in her new life. Navidad is getting along great with her new feline sibling. She is very sweet and her new family adores her.

Stella

Stella found her forever home through the Sarasota Humane Society in late August 2017, just prior to the devastating Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Stella is now living a peaceful, healthy and happy life in Florida. She is loving, sweet and very smart, although she definitely has a playful and feisty side also! Stella has a good sized fenced-in backyard where she can run around and play ball, but she likes to stick close by her new human siblings. She doesn't like much distance between herself and her new family!

Marley

Marley just moved into a home in the Boston area where she has a boxer brother named Baxter with whom she is very close. They go on walks and stand side-by-side to keep an eye on their yard. Sometimes, Marley just stands under Baxter, which makes her feel very safe. Marley has two feline siblings too...they are not sure they like her, but Marley is determined to win them over. She is getting bigger every day, so she may soon be hard to ignore!

Darrel

Lucky Darrel has a new BFF, a 16-year-old human brother who is totally awesome. Darrel now has someone to hang with in front of the TV and a lap to sit on during car rides. Darrel's family had been looking to adopt a puppy, but wanted to be sure it was right. Then they saw Darrel's little face and learned that he was from Puerto Rico--same as his new mom--and destiny seemed to be at work.

Casey

Casey and her siblings were born at a Puerto Rico Power Authority Site, which wasn't a very safe place to grow up. Fortunately, they had some wonderful foster parents who took care of them until they were ready to fly to Boston. They all found homes through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. Casey will never have to worry about being safe again...these days her biggest concern is which of her many new toys she should pick to play with!

Cooper

After Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, we had the chance to send many Satos in charter flights to shelters all across the US. Lucky Cooper ended up at the Austin Humane Society in Texas and soon found an amazing home. He now gets to take power naps on the couch and eat treats. He has many adventures ahead of him with his two cutie pie human siblings. He feels right at home.

Dola

Dola now lives in New Hampshire, thanks to our partner the Humane Society for Greater Nashua. Dola's new dad says that this sato is a great pup and the thing that was missing from his world! He visited the shelter the week before Dola was up for adoption and they made eye contact and the deal was sealed. But Dola's dad still had to wait and watch the website every day until Dola's photo was posted...then he rushed over to be first in line. Now the two have had three wonderful weeks together and are looking forward to many years to come.

Stewie

​ We sent Stewie to the very kind people at Blind Dog Rescue Alliance in February--and we are happy to report that he has found the very best home imaginable. Back then, he went immediately to a foster home where he could adjust and wait for his forever home. But as time went by and his massive charisma was revealed, his foster mom realized that she couldn't give him up. She has a 10-year-old blind dog named Buddy who has tried over the years to get every one of his foster siblings to play with him....and none did. Until Stewie. If that wasn't a sign that he was where he was meant to be, we don't know what is!

Jeff

Jeff's new parents wrote to tell us that he has been in his forever home for all of six days and is already completely spoiled and loving every second. He has already learned how to fetch.....he even brings it back. Jeff loves being outside in the run and in the back yard running and watching the birds. He was a little shy the first two nights but he has been opening up ever since. His parents feel that when they selected Jeff, they hit the lottery!!! Another thing about Jeff, he loves to eat!!

Rita

Rita is having so much fun in her wonderful new life. She has balls to chase, bones to chew, and comfy quilts to nap on. She found her home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. She is a sweet and beautiful puppy - energetic and eager to learn.

Baxter

Cutie pie Baxter found his new forever home through the Monmouth County SPCA in New Jersey. He is now surrounded by loving family members including his parents, their two children, and four grandchildren. That's a lot of people to administer belly rubs and throw balls! He is very happy.

Berry

Berry found her forever home through the Monmouth County SPCA in New Jersey. She’s a happy, healthy, and very sweet little puppy who is much loved by her new family. They started out as fosters, but you know how that can go...They very kindly took in Berry because she had some health issues that made it difficult for her to walk normally. She's been getting physical therapy, and lots of love and attention, and now she is zooming around like a track star! Berry and her litter mates were rescued as newborns and bottle fed by one of our amazing volunteers.

Penelope

Penelope's new mom was at the mall in Naples, Florida when she stopped by the Humane Society outlet there. That's when she spied Penelope. She knew it was fate for her to adopt a Sato, because she too is part Puerto Rican. Her family on the island experienced terrible loss after the hurricane, so she knew how important it is to establish a safe environment and fill it with joy. And that's what these two--Sato and human mom--have done. They are inextricably bonded and totally in tune with one another's personalities.

Jameson

Jameson joined a family that already has one Sato...it's heaven. He quickly became BFFs with his canine brother and is enjoying an amazing new life full of car rides, chewing on fabulous toys, and getting lots of cuddles from his new parents. Jameson is super sweet.

Oliver

Oliver continues to fill his family's lives with laughter and love. They say he is very sweet and about as goofy as a dog can be.He is also very loved. He's outgoing and he loves his older puppy sister, Harley. Oliver was adopted through the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass.

Roxy

Roxy is now living in New Jersey. She is a real sweetheart, according to her new family. She was adopted through the Monmouth County SPCA.

Orlando

Orlando's new parents wrote to thank us for saving him from the streets. They say he is happy, smart, and lovely in all ways...

Abbey

Abbey is an absolute joy in the lives of her new family. She is cute, loving, intelligent, friendly, alert, bright....well, the list of superlatives just goes on and on. She has adjusted well to her two new canine siblings. She loves to play with them and wears them out with her puppy energy. She is also acing her puppy classes. She loves taking long walks along Boston's scenic Charles River.

Sunny

Sunny (on the right) found her new home through Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester Ma. She was there with her 3 sisters. She is fun, feisty and very affectionate. We might also add that she is very cute!

Cody

Cody now lives in New Hampshire. He likes to scoot around the house at high speeds. He is not a fan of snow, which is unfortunate, because New Hampshire has had some huge blizzards this winter. Fortunately, his mom bought him several new warm sweaters, but she says that he wiggles out of them when she isn't looking! He loves to sleep in one of his many comfy dog beds...he's a snorer, but his mom doesn't mind. She says that she intends to spoil him and give him a life full of fun, adventures, and love. That is so nice because Cody was found near a gas station on a busy road in Bayamon, PR, so he didn't have a lot of joy in his previous life.​ He was adopted from the Humane Society for Greater Nashua.

Charlee

Charlee is having lots of fun making new friends, including a lot of other dogs, a horse, and even a cat that is about twice the size that she is. Charlee is super smart and developed a very strong bond with her new dad very quickly. She was adopted from the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

Canela

Canela was adopted in late March, when it is supposed to be spring in New England, but was really still kind of like winter. She has a huge backyard to run around in and her dad spends time with her playing fetch. Her new parents love her very much and are always telling her what a good girl she is! Canela is having so much fun in her new life!

Hachy

Hachy's new home is a multi acre farm where she can run around and play all she wants. She also has a new family of loving people to care for her for her entire life. She was a bit surprised by the snow, but having big sisters to cuddle up with and stay warm sure helps!

Bailey

​Bailey was adopted very quickly from the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. His new mom says that he is a very important part of her life and will always be treated as a member of the family.

Alligator

Alligator was very fearful when she first arrived at the Humane Society in Naples, Florida. That's when one of the people who work there decided to take her home nights in hopes of building her confidence. This person had two older dogs, who helped Allie learn the ropes. Then one day she brought home a little kitten that was under the weather....much to her surprise, Allie immediately decided to take on this kitten as her baby. They bonded so quickly, that the kitten (pictured here) also joined the household. (By this time, Allie too had been officially adopted!) Now, the mom brings home the puppies and kittens from the shelter that are fearful and Alligator helps build their confidence so they can be adopted into their own forever homes. We are so grateful for the love and patience that was shown to our Allie to help unleash her special talents!

Sophie

Sophie came home to live in Gardner, MA in October 2017 after spending a little time at the Animal Shelter in Sterling, MA. She has a big yard to explore and a park right around the corner where she can go and meet with friends. She likes walks and baths, and has a lot of toys to keep her busy. She loves to fetch tennis balls! She was 17 lbs when she arrived at the Sterling Animal Shelter, and has grown to 37 lbs! This winter, she enjoyed playing in the snow. She makes friends everywhere she goes and enjoys all of the attention.

Bonita (on the right)is an amazing girl and is very happy with her home. She has a new fur-brother, Scout, 4 human siblings and a human mom and dad. So, everywhere she goes, she has a playmate, a nap partner, and someone to administer belly rubs!

Sassy

Sassy found her wonderful new home through the Monmouth County SPCA in New Jersey. She and her mom and siblings were rescued by an All Sato Rescue volunteer who is appropriately named Angel. Sassy is sweet, loving, and lots of fun. She is also super smart. She has an adoptive brother named Gizmo, who is a chiweenie. He loves her very much.

Bea

Bea is a sweet puppy, whose new family loves her very much. She is very fortunate to now have four spectacular human sisters--so many people to play and cuddle with! She loves them very much.

Lily

Lily is amazing and has brought so much joy to her new family in the short time that she has been with them. She is an incredibly smart pup and is learning new things every day. Lily was adopted through the Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, Mass. and she is very happy to be in snow country.

Roo

Roo's new mom stopped by the Animal Rescue League of Boston on a whim...we had recently sent up a boatload of adorable puppies. But sometimes a whim is more like destiny. One of those puppies, Roo, went to the front of her pen and stuck her paw out. She might as well have said "Take me home!!' And that's what happened. Roo is now a much beloved member of the family. She and her siblings were saved from the streets of Puerto Rico by an elderly man who took them to the Humane Society of Puerto Rico, which is our dear partner. From there, Roo made the long trip to her wonderful new life.

Mikey and Molly

Mikey and Molly lived with a lot of other dogs at a sanctuary in Puerto Rico and they didn't get a ton of individual attention or special amenities. But that has all changed, thanks to the wonderful couple who adopted them and to our partner the Humane Society for Greater Nashua. They are little barkers (They have a home to protect after all!), but great snugglers. They love to ride in cars, like kids, and are blending in well to the new rhythms of homelife. They are very happy. And so are we....

Mary Kate

Mary Kate recently moved to Waltham, Mass. where she quickly settled in to her new home. She has full run of her new apartment and sometimes when it is time for food she will 'Meow' her little heart out until her bowl is on the ground. She loves to be petted and her purring can be heard from across the room.

Byron

Imagine that you are engaged to be married and have always wanted to adopt a dog. You do some serious hinting to your fiancee, but nothing seems to be happening. Then imagine the big day arrives and as you walk down the aisle, you see your soon-to-be-husband, your family and friends, and a sato puppy!!! This is what happened to Cristina of Boynton Beach, Florida, whose amazing husband found the best wedding present ever when he scooped up Byron from Big Dog Ranch in Loxahatchee, Florida. Byron had been evacuated there following Hurricane Maria. Byron wore a lovely pink bow for the service.

JoJo

JoJo left Puerto Rico for Sarasota, Florida as part of an airlift of pups sent after Hurricane Maria devastated the island. She ended up in a wonderful home with a border collie big brother, who is showing her the ropes; two cats, who have been remarkably hospitable; and a 17-year-old human brother. JoJo is extremely personable, funny, and just as smart as can be! JoJo's new mom says that her family has only ever adopted shelter animals and every single one has lived a long and happy life, bringing immense joy into the home.

Rocko

Rocko was abandoned on the feeding route of one of our rescuers when he was only 4 months old. He made friends with all the other strays, but always looked really sad. Fortunately for him, our rescuer scooped him up before the hurricane hit to keep him safe in her own home. That's when he started looking much happier...and today, in his new home in Maine, he is clearly in ecstasy! Rocko found his lovely new home through the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland.

Manny

​ Manny (on the right) is one of the lucky pups to fly off the island on charter planes through the Humane Society of the United States after Hurricane Maria hit. This lucky boy ended up in Ohio where he was featured on the local news broadcast. That's where his new parents first saw him and fell in love.​ ​ Manny ​has two speeds--high energy and sound asleep. Here he and his new BFF Gib (also a rescue) share a nap after a raucous play session. Many also loves chewing on Benebone's and getting belly rubs.

Dakota

We want to wish Dakota a very happy first birthday. She was adopted from the Sterling Animal Shelter last June. She was a little shy and nervous in the beginning, but now she loves playing in the snow with her canine sibling. Her favorite thing is to chase snowflakes as they fall to the ground. Dakota has participated in obedience classes and has learned sit, down, stay/wait, and bed. She loves playing with stuffed toys and snuggling under blankets in the evening. For her birthday, her mom baked her some special cookies, got her a cupcake toy, and dressed her in a special birthday outfit!

Addison

Here is Addison with big sister Ally at Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. It marks the very important day that Addy went to her forever home and she clearly dressed up for the occasion. Allison and Addy have already started a training course together. Addy has the run of her new house, plus a large fenced-in yard to patrol.

Peaches

That's Peaches (on the left) enjoying a companionable chew stick with her new big brother Banjo. At the shelter, Peaches was a big hit with her new human sisters, who had been searching for a new puppy for quite some time. She is the perfect addition to the family.

Ella

It's kind of a lovefest when Ella and her new human siblings get together on the couch. She adores them and they adore her. Ella is incredibly sweet, in case you couldn't tell. She is a master cuddler and also loves playing outside in the snow. She found her lovely new home through Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, Mass.

Pinto

Pinto arrived in Maine in the middle of a freezing cold spell in January. That first month was a tough adjustment for this sun bunny....but now he loves walking on the snowmobile tracks near his new home. (He does draw the line at 20 degrees or below, but that's amazing for a Sato!) He also loves eating and chasing squirrels.

Callie

Callie was adopted from the Humane Society, Waterville Area by a family that had only intended to provide her with a temporary foster home. But they ended up falling head over heels for her on day one. She's absolutely amazing and has the best personality. Callie now has two human sisters and three feline siblings and she gets along great with every one. Callie's family says they plan to spoil her every second of the day for the rest of her life!

Pants

Pants is very happy, safe and healthy. She goes to work every day with her dad and he lets her run around in the woods and then take a nap in his bed. Pants has friends to play with and loves the snow. She is living a good life and he says that his life is so much better because he has her in it. Pants found her home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass.

Callie

Callie is a sweet girl. In fact, her original name was Dulce which means sweet in Spanish. Callie left Puerto Rico to live in New Hampshire and found a great home through the Humane Society of Greater Nashua, in Nashua New Hampshire. She loves to play with her brother Harvey (on the right), go for car rides with her parents, and take naps under the covers. ​

Chachi

Chachi was lucky enough to be adopted into a BIG family that feels blessed to have this sweet girl in their midst. They were only going to foster Chachi, but one thing led to another and now this little Sata has 9 people to give her attention. She also gets to share a couch for naps with a Great Dane and a beagle. Chachi found her home through the Humane Society, Waterville Area in Northern Maine.

Martin was found alone, scared, and in pain after being hit by a car. His leg was so badly injured that it had to be amputated. His rescuer had just one thought in mind--please find this dog a wonderful home where he will be valued and loved for the amazing soul that he is. And that's just what happened. Our partner Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, Mass. found Martin a home with loving parents who shower him with treats, bones, toys, comfy dog beds, and attention. Martin lives in an awesome apartment with a gorgeous view of the Boston skyline and he loves to explore the city and its parks and treasures with his new mom and dad.

Rosie

We just heard from Rosie's new family to say that she is the perfect fit! It sure looks that way....Rosie found her wonderful home through the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland in Maine. She hasn't quite adjusted to the temperature change, so she makes a point of staying cozy and comfy with her new forever humans! She is the sweetest most calming soul. A gift!!

Otan

Otan is a kind soul who refuses to leave the side of his new mom. He just adores her and it sounds like the feeling is mutual. Otan was adopted through the NHSPCA in Stratham, NH. Here he is fresh from his bath and grooming session...such a handsome boy!

Havoc

Havoc was given his distinctive name, not because he's a troublemaker, but in honor of a friend of his new parents. In fact, Havoc is acing obedience training...he can already sit, stay, and shake. Potty training was a piece of cake and he even gets into his crate to go to sleep with no outside prodding! He’s a really good boy, extremely cuddly, and he loves to play fetch and tug of war. He is not very fond of his snow booties though...

Jax

Jax is coming up on his first year anniversary in his forever home--and what a year it's been! He started out as a little puppy at the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. and is now 70 pounds of muscle and energy. He is very playful and full of love. He goes on lots of adventures with his new parents including hikes, romps in the snow, and car rides. The only thing he doesn't like is having to spend time away from them.

Lady

Lady's description as "retriever, labrador, chocolate" immediately caught the eye of her new family as they scrolled through candidates at the Humane Society in Naples, Florida. That description happened to be the exact same one as their previous much beloved dog Chloe, who had recently passed away. They thought it must be a sign from Chloe, that Lady was the "one."

But Chloe may have had some help in overseeing destiny. That's because Lady arrived in Naples thanks to the amazing support of Joyce and Gary Kreppel, who have single handedly placed nearly 500 of our rescues at this shelter. They drive all the way to Miami to pick up the passengers, covering the associated costs. We couldn't be more grateful. And they do all this to honor the legacy of their very special Sato Chopin (on the left), who passed away many years ago but still leaves a huge impression. And get this...Chopin too was a "retriever, labrador, chocolate!"

Chico

Chico is an amazing dog and important new member of the family. He has done very well adjusting to his new home. Chico now lives in a rural area in Massachusetts with a fenced yard to play in. Archie

Archie was adopted into a new home with a big canine brother named Teddy who has been showing him the ropes. Archie adores Teddy. Archie is a smart boy who likes to play just as much as he enjoys cuddling. He's usually so on the go that it can be hard to get him to sit still for a photo, so we are lucky to have this one. Archie found his wonderful new home through the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

Renny

We recently heard from Renny's new family on the anniversary of his first year of adoption. He found his lovely home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. Renny is a wonderful, friendly, playful addition to the family...he has a very full life now, going on hikes, hanging out by the water, and playing football.

Primrose

After arriving in Waterville, Maine last year, Primrose went into what was supposed to be a temporary foster home where she could get over the shock of leaving the tropics. But, fortunately for everyone, her parents were "foster failures" and she has been with them ever since. They said it took about a minute to fall totally in love with her. We think the medal she is wearing was awarded for having a great personality and being incredibly intelligent.

Calvin

Calvin's mom fell in love with his sweet shyness and big batty ears (a Sato trademark!) immediately, and was so sure he was "the one" that she adopted him the first day she met him. Her instincts were right. Calvin had a few behavioral quirks in the beginning--who doesn't??!!--but he's overcome all but a few (no one is perfect) and become a wonderful companion. He most enjoys napping with his head in a lap, learning new tricks (he is so very intelligent), chewing and chasing toys, following mom around the house, and licking his new friends. His mom says that Calvin's trust and love is a hard-earned but incredible gift. Calvin was adopted through the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland.

Lucy

Lucy is THE sweetest puppy and her new mom absolutely adores her! She is spoiled rotten and never wants to leave her mom's side. Lucy was adopted from the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass.

Tess

​ Tess has been an absolute joy in her new family. She adjusted to her wonderful new life quickly and definitely has a way of wrapping everyone she meets around her little paw. She is a quick learner and star of her obedience class.Tess LOVES humans, it seems she wants to be best friends with everyone she meets, even when they're poking or prodding her at the vet or groomer. She loves playing with dogs of all sizes, and has lots of dog friends at daycare.Tess also enjoys playing fetch, puzzle type activities, and anything that squeaks. At the end of the day, she loves to cuddle with humans and tends to b​u​ rrow into blankets or between her owners and the couch. Tess found her home through Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, MA.

Ana

Two of our devoted rescuers were driving on the expressway when they saw people abandon Ana in the middle of the road. She actually tried to run after the car. The rescuers managed to stop traffic and take Ana in their arms. How anyone could dump this special dog is a mystery. She loves dogs and humans, playing ball, and going for long walks. Those walks used to be around the lagoon in San Juan, but now they take place in Nashua, NH. That's because our wonderful partner the Humane Society for Greater Nashua took in Ana and found her a terrific home. Ana's new parents say that she grabbed their attention and they couldn't leave the shelter without her. ​

Corn

We heard from the new people in Corn's life who couldn't possibly be any happier with their decision to become fur baby parents. Corn has been a beloved addition to their family for just over two weeks and things are going really well. He loves curling up for a nap on someone's lap and getting cozy on the couch under his special blanket.

Cruz

Cruz (on the left) has a very special bond with big brother Nico. They do everything together whether it be running and roughhousing, keeping an eye on the property, or napping and cuddling. Cruz started out as a foster pup with his new parents, but they quickly realized that they could never give him up. He found his extraordinary home through our partner shelter Humane Society, Waterville Area in Northern Maine.

Willa

Willa flew up to Massachusetts on a charter plane right after Christmas during a spell of particularly cold weather. Then she was driven hundred of miles to our shelter partner in Waterville, Maine where she has found a wonderful home with the Robichaud family. She now has a canine brother and a human sister, whom she clearly adores. Willa (on the left with her sister) is going to be spoiled and loved unconditionally. We couldn't be happier.

Hobbes

Hobbes (on left) arrived at the Humane Society for Greater Nashua about nine months ago. He was described as a sweet boy who was also very shy and would benefit from having a buddy to show him the ropes. Hobbes got that buddy--and it's made a huge difference in his life. Now, he and older canine brother Calvin (on right) are fast friends.Under Calvin's calming presence, Hobbes has blossomed into a sweetheart, who can sniff out anything. Hobbes adores and looks up to his big brother and the two have shared in all sorts of adventures, including hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, exploring farms, and visiting the seaside.

Fish

Since going to his forever home Fish has been able to let his own funny and curious personality emerge. He can now open and close doors and blinds, and he can tuck himself into bed. Plus, he never turns down a cuddle session or chance to show off a stick. He has an older canine sister named Ladybird whom he adores. Fish found his great home through the Monmouth County SPCA.

Morgan

Morgan flew to Massachusetts on a charter plane in October after the hurricane hit. He went to our new partner the Animal Rescue League of Boston where he was quickly adopted by a volunteer in the Brewster facility near Cape Cod. It was love at first sight for the entire family--even 8-year-old Maya, a boxer/Rhodesian ridgeback mix. Morgan is having a blast learning new things and having new experiences. For instance, he goes with his new mom to arts and craft shows where he models the lovely bandanas and coats that she makes. He also loves car rides, bellyrubs, cozy moments in front of the fire, and snacking on premium raw meats and veggies! ​

Dolly and Annie

Nap partners Dolly and Annie are much loved and safe, living great lives in Salem, Mass. They found their very special forever home through Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, Mass.

Baby Girl

Baby Girl found her way to the Humane Society of Sarasota Florida as part of an airlift after Hurricane Maria orchestrated by the Humane Society of the United States. This lucky girl is about to experience her first Christmas in a forever home.

Bella

Lucky Bella is having sweet dreams, curled up to her favorite toy. This Sata was adopted through the Humane Society in Naples, Florida. Bella and her litter mates were rescued from Jayuya, a mountain town that was pretty devastated by the hurricane. All Sato Rescue took in ten pups, 2 great danes, and a husky just a few weeks after the storm. A woman had tried to get them to safety and the municipality had lent her space to keep them under a semi-covered basketball court. When we heard about their situation, we, along with other rescue groups and with help from the HSUS, drove there (It wasn’t easy!)and picked up dozens of dogs as well as cats. We couldn't be happier to know that these efforts paid off.

Rosie

Rosie traveled up to the New England on a charter plane a few weeks after Hurricane Maria destroyed Puerto Rico. She went to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland and was so nervous after all she had been through that the shelter very nicely arranged a foster home for her. We are happy to report that Rosie’s foster mom is a foster failure! So, lucky Rosie can stay where she is and enjoy lounging on the deck, one of her favorite activities. It is a second floor balcony so she has a great vantage point and can watch all the neighborhood happenings, while also getting some precious sun time. She also has a big backyard to explore, a lap to lie on, and a home to call her own for the rest of her life.

Cody

Cody's new dad traveled all over the state of Florida to find the right pup before getting a tip off from a friend about this little Sato at the Naples Humane Society. After getting acquainted at the shelter, Cody went to his new home and neither his, nor his dad's, lives have been the same since. ​Cody is so happy in his lovely new home that he wags his tail constantly. It never stops....and he has a ton of energy. He and his dad hang out all the time and go for early morning walks every day, and Cody has a BFF named Jesse, who is a dingo/lab mix.

Schmoops

Schmoops was very scared when she arrived from Puerto Rico. We are not sure what she went through that made her so fearful. Since being officially adopted, she has come a long, long way. Schmoops is adored by her family. They say that every time she overcomes an old fear, it brings them much joy.

Charlie

Charlie's mom was left in an abandoned house when she was pregnant with Charlie and her sister. Fortunately, an All Sato Rescue volunteer was soon on the scene and saved the whole family. Charlie took a charter plane to Massachusetts not long after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico and the rest is history. She went to the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. and was quickly adopted into a wonderful family where she gets all the squeaky toys she wants. Charlie is super sweet and a complete love!

Pickles

Pickles ​enjoys playing, sunbathing, and snuggles. He also likes to keep an eye on his new yard. Pickles was adopted from Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, MA. His new family says that he has been a wonderful addition. He has a new canine brother named Bowser with whom he is getting along very nicely.

Rico

Rico made the journey from Puerto Rico to the Coastal Humane Society in Brunswick Maine in November 2016. Now after a year with his family of 3 teenage boys, his adopted mama dog, Thundergirl, and his cats Gracie and Little Kitty, he has been deemed officially the sweetest and most lovable 60 pound lap dog. His days are busy running through the woods, walking downtown and getting stopped constantly by total strangers asking to say hello, playing in the ocean, cuddling his human and nonhuman housemates, stopping at the local burger joint for a bunless burger, and as you can see sometimes getting out in a canoe. While he is the newest rescue to his busy home, his people companions cannot imagine what they ever did without him!

Mika

Mika was rescued as a baby. She had fleas, mange, and parasites and was not doing well, but a close partner group of All Sato Rescue (Guardianes de la Poza) saved her life. For about a year, they tried to find her a home in Puerto Rico with no luck. When Hurricane Maria hit, things looked very bleak. But thanks to the Humane Society of the US, we were able to put this lovely girl on a flight to a shelter in Indianapolis where she was quickly adopted. Now she has her very own huge backyard and is a cherished family member. ​

Queso

Queso's new dad hadn't had a dog since he was a kid and he tells us that adopting this Sato has been the best decision of his adult life. From this photo, it looks like Queso is in full agreement. It turns out that this Puerto Rican pup is a big fan of string cheese...which is how he got his new name. Queso is kind, cuddly, interesting, and a loving companion, who has made his new dad's life better in many ways. He found his home through our partner the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland.

Simon

Simon joined his new family in February, which was quite a shocking time to move from Puerto Rico to Maine. Simon went to our partner the Humane Society, Waterville Area and quickly fell in love. He has two young human brothers who are his best friends. They play together all the time and share treats like ice cream cones. In this photo, Simon is taking a little rest on top of his brother Finnegan after a rigorous session on the trampoline. He also takes naps with his brother Marshall and they all go on bike rides together. In other words, Simon has an amazing life!

Teeko

Teeko found a wonderful home through Animal Shelter Inc. in Sterling, Mass. He now has loving parents and a canine sister named Lola. He is a handsome boy who loves to be held and appreciates having a stylish new coat to keep warm. Teeko, who has one eye, has overcome lots of hardships to get the life he deserves. We couldn't be happier for him.

Baby Girl

Baby Girl was named by her new family in honor of her incredible sweetness. This lucky Sata flew to Sarasota Florida, courtesy of the Humane Society of the United States as part of emergency help for animals in the wake of Hurricane Maria. Baby Girl went to the Sarasota Humane Society and didn't have to wait long for her forever family to come along. They tell us that she has been very good eating her dog food and not begging for treats or table food, but when her new mom cooked chicken recently, Baby Girl got very excited!

Kiwi

Kiwi flew all the way to Washington state after Hurricane Maria, thanks to the Humane Society of the United States. He ended up in the Kitsap Humane Society in Silverdale where he was quickly adopted into a loving home. His new family says that he is settling in really well and loves to snuggle.

Rico

When Rico's family was searching for dogs, this little fellow caught their eye. It seemed like destiny was at work because Rico's new mom is also from Puerto Rico. Not only that, but Rico and his siblings were rescued in the town of Ciales, which is where his new human grandfather was raised! Rico has a wonderful new life now, complete with his very own patio, human siblings, a safe place to sleep, a cozy blanket, a bone, and a baseball...what more could a Sato want?

Celine

Celine is the sweetest little angel. She is calm and comfortable and a beautiful addition to her new family. She will be loved and will join her new mom at work every day as a therapeutic dog in her counseling practice. Celine has a new human sister named Julia, who reads her bed-time stories. The two are best friends.

Vida

Special thanks to the wonderful people at Dalmation Rescue in South Florida for finding such an extraordinary home for Vida. This lucky girl, who is deaf, now lives with three adorable human siblings and three dalmation siblings!

Forrest

This gorgeous boy and his brother made it out of Puerto Rico in a charter plane right after Hurricane Maria devastated the island. They had both been living on the streets for two years, counting on handouts from the neighbors. Those days are thankfully in the past. Forrest now has a wonderful forever home. He loves car rides, snuggling with his little human sister, and getting belly rubs.

Kenny

Kenny left Puerto Rico on a chartered plane after Hurricane Maria devastated the island. He found a wonderful home through the Coastal Humane Society in Brunswick, Maine. His new parents fell in love with him the moment they laid eyes on him. Kenny is an amazing and sweet boy who is now running around on a farm, with two other dogs, eating great food, and enjoying unconditional love.

Carmen

Hi guys! It’s me, Carmen! I love my new house and my people! And they love me too! Mom and dad take me on walks every day. They have two cats and I am still unsure about how I feel about them... if I get to close, sometimes I get swiped! They are scared of me and I just want to play. I am the luckiest dog in the world because my mom is a Vet Tech! That means I get to go to work with her every day and do daycare! I’m working on building my confidence with other dogs, sometimes I still get nervous... I do not like to be alone though, so as long as I am with people I am okay. I am also the world’s biggest cuddle bug! I think I am a lap dog so I like to jump up on my parents lap and cuddle with them (especially while they are sleeping).

Rico

Rico was transported off Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, thanks to the Humane Society of the United States. He found a lovely new home in Evansville, IN where he lives with 5 other dogs. He is especially bonded to Bee, his beagle sister. They are inseparable. His parents named him Rico in honor of his homeland and also because he's so darn handsome. Indiana winters can get pretty cold, so his parents are already shopping for sweaters for him. He is going to have an exceptional life!

Piper

Piper has been with her new family for more than six months now--growing from a little eight-pound puppy into this gorgeous 50-pound teenager. She has an incredible heart of gold and is a wonderful soul. Piper was adopted through the Monmouth County SPCA. Piper has two human brothers age 9 & 6 and one sister age 3. Most days she walks her brothers to school and back again in the afternoon. She sleeps on the bed of her oldest brother every night cuddled up at his side. Her mom works from home, so Piper is almost never alone...She lives near the beach in New Jersey and a favorite activity is finding a piece of drift wood and running around with it. She has every toy known to man and she loves other dogs, especially little ones.

Amalie

Adorable Amalie is loving her new home where she can take naps on human sheets and snuggle up with her new family. She was rescued with four siblings, all of whom have also found homes.

Mishka

​​Mishka is now living a life of snuggles in Boston. She even gets to go to grad school classes with her new mom--and she's very smart. Mishka is the sweetest little thing and settling in very well. She is spoiled with a huge toy collection and she is very loved. ​

Pippa

Pippa is very lively and funny. She has a lot of energy and gets into everything.. She also takes long naps during the day. Here’s a picture of her sleeping on the sofa with her “big brother” Darcy. Sometimes she annoys him but he does like her and they get along okay. The two kitties get to sleep in bed with their mom every night. Pippa is totally devoted to her new mom, and gets to spend lots of time with her because she works from home. Pippa was adopted from Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, Mass.

Ava

Ava is a little princess with a keen sense of fashion. She loves life so much! She has a big personality in a 5 lb body. Ava was adopted by a family who had recently lost their previous Sato to cancer, so she has brought a lot of joy into the household. She also has a Sato cousin named Zoey, with whom she has become fast friends. Ava was adopted from Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, Mass.

Eddie

Eddie was born with a defect in his hind leg, which makes him limp and hop a little bit. But it doesn't really slow him down or bother him one bit. He is so cute and friendly. He LOVES his new human sister more than anything. They are inseparable! He also loves his new canine siblings. Eddie found his home through Humane Society, Waterville Area.

Rocco

Rocco may be tiny, but he has a big personality! He tipped the scales at just 3.5 pounds when he went to his forever home from Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, Mass. Rocco's new neighbor/best friend is also a Sato. In fact, both dogs were rescued and fostered by All Sato Rescue board member Marta Delgado. Rocco's new mom says that Marta's compassion has brought them all together.

Bella

Bella found her home through Coastal Humane Society in Brunswick, Maine. She is the sweetest pup and has bonded so well with her new family, which includes a canine sister named Lucy, who also came through Coastal. Together the two sisters get to explore 40 acres of property that includes beautiful fields, woods, and even a pond. She has really taken to country life and is gaining more confidence every day.

Diego

Diego just found his forever home through the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland. He is so lucky--he has two human siblings who have quickly become his very best friends. Diego is pure love. He goes crazy with excitement if he hasn't seen you in awhile, but otherwise he is very mellow and lovable.

Shyla

Shyla or Princess Shyla as she prefers to be called is thriving in New Jersey. She found her new home through the Monmouth County SPCA in Freehold.

Joha

Joha has very quickly become an integral member of the family and her new mom's best friend. She is a fantastic dog with a great personality and she is happy and healthy in her new home. Joha was adopted through the New Hampshire SPCA and she sleeps in pajamas! Thank you very much for the opportunity to own such a great dog

Diego and Marina

We want to give a huge shout out to our amazing partner,New England Bassett Hound Rescue, which so graciously and generously accepted two of our seniors. Diego and Marina are very elderly and their prospects were not bright after they lost their home. But this wonderful rescue group took them in and found them a terrific home in Massachusetts where they are eating well, enjoying nature, and having their medical needs attended to. We couldn't be more grateful!

Leticía Esmerelda Woytonik Gilbert, who goes by Letty for short, has a wonderful new life in New Hampshire. In true Sato style, she has put on almost ten pounds in the three months since finding her forever home. She has a nice big yard to run around in, and she also likes to go to the dog park and doggie day care to play with other dogs. At home, she loves couches, her feline siblings (as you can see here) and snuggling in bed. She also goes on hikes and sometimes she goes to work with her mom. She's very smart and is learning some commands and tricks!

Ollie

Ollie was adopted into a loving home where he is being very spoiled. He is spunky and feisty--and has trademark Sato ears. Ollie found his home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass.

Natalie

Does it get any cuter???!!! Natalie is a super playful, happy, loving, little puppy. Her new mom says that Natalie is "perfect."

Chili

Chili's new mom is so intent on making this Sato feel at home that she is learning Spanish. Now, when she asks him for a "beso" he is very happy to give one or two or three....those would be kisses! Chili is originally from Chile, but made his way to Puerto Rico and then to the Humane Society in Waterville, Maine. That's where his mom fell in love with him at first sight. He now has a vacation home in Maine and another home outside Philadelphia with a big yard. Chili has three human brothers, which is really fun, as well as three feline siblings, and a hampster sibling named Tubby.

Maggie

On her last vet checkup, Maggie had gained three pounds, so clearly she is thriving in her new home. Her new parents are very happy to have her. She loves watching Animal Planet...

Maisie

Maisie has been in her new home now for about six months and her parents love her to pieces! It's easy to see why...she is a smart, silly girl who loves everyone she meets and they love her!

Speedy

Speedy went to our partner in Naples Florida and was adopted into a home with two canine siblings. He fit right in with his new pals and is loving having a yard, a place to snuggle, and loving parents.

Moxie

Moxie is the new love of her family's life! She gets to hang with her two human siblings and go to beautiful places, as you can see in this photo. (Her family said they have hundreds of photos of her to choose from.)

Julius

Julius went to his wonderful new home in June 2017 from the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. He is now loved "beyond measure!" He has two human brothers, whom he adores--as you can probably tell by the photos. It's almost as if he has always been a part of the family. His mom says she has never met a more affectionate dog.

Georgy

This photogenic beauty is Georgy. He was adopted from the Monmouth County SPCA and lives in New Jersey now. His mom reports that he is the sweetest, most loving dog she has ever had. He loves being outside, running, cuddling, and giving hugs!!

Stev-E

Stev-E is amazing! His new parents couldn't possibly be more in love with their new little guy. It took awhile for their other Sato, Daddy Yankee, to warm up to Stev-E, but now they are great buddies and curl up next to eachother in their comfy dog bed. Stev-E loves his new home and big back yard and spends most of the day playing with his toys outside while chasing the occasional squirrel and birds. He's already been on his first road trip to NYC and loved riding shotgun between his two dads.

Dakota

Dakota went to her forever home from Sterling Animal Shelter in June 2017. She was shy at first, but has become very comfortable in her new home. It helps a lot when her parents pick her up and hold her or when she takes a nap under the blankets in her soft new bed. Dakota has almost almost completed puppy school and will begin beginner obedience classes soon. She has a two-year-old canine sibling that she just adores...

Hansel

Hansel traveled to Waterville, Maine with his sister Gretel. They had been surrendered to a shelter in Puerto Rico that had a very high euthanasia rate. The two were very bonded and now they are neighbors! Both found homes through our partner Humane Society, Waterville Area. Hansel has a feline sibling now that is his constant playmate and he has a very active outdoorsy life that includes boating.

Mila

Mila went to her forever home in early April 2017 and is now officially the baby of the family. Mila's new granddad didn't even really like dogs before he met her--and now he is totally in love with this little cutie pie. Mila's mom writes us that Mila isn't only one of the best things to ever happen to her, but Mila is also one of the best things to ever happen to the entire family!

Chloe

Chloe has been adopted by the Denney family. She now has lots of people with whom to take naps, snuggle, go for car rides and share a love of hot pink clothing and accessories!

Rubi

It was love at first sight for Sato Rubi and her new mom. From the moment Rubi came in the door of the Humane Society, Waterville Area and landed in Ashley's arms, Ashley knew that Rubi was the dog she had been looking for. Rubi stayed cuddled up close to her mom, but quickly came out of her shell when she met her five new human siblings, all of whom fell in love with her instantly. Rubi now has plenty of people around to pat her head and pat the special spot under her neck. Belly rubs are fun too!

Rico

Rico has a great home in New Jersey, which he found through our partner the Monmouth County SPCA. He weighed just 13 pounds when he was adopted in April 2017, but he's gained about 25 pounds since then. He is much loved by his new family.

Nagui

Nagui is healthy and happy at her new home in Massachusetts where she loves to play and chase. Nagui found her home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling MA.

Barlow

Barlow (the black lab mix) is a little bundle of energy, full of curiosity and enthusiasm. Those qualities will serve him well as he explores his wonderful new home on Cape Cod, Mass. with his new friend Elvis (another rescue, yeah!!). Barlow was adopted from the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass., where he only had to wait three days before his new parents came along to pick him up. He is much loved.

Lyra

Lyra has been doing great settling into her new home. She's very sweet and affectionate with everyone she meets. She loves to meet new dogs and play, especially with her friend Nico, who came from the same wonderful shelter that she did....that would be Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury, Mass. Lyra is working now on basic training and leash manners- her energy level is pretty high, but she's smart and is picking up commands quickly. She loves to play fetch and tug of war and then conk out on the couch with her brother.

Mia

Mia has that special look of bliss, even with her little eyes closed, just being near her new mom. This lucky pup is safe, happy, and much loved.She enjoys playing with her many new toys (some of them are almost as big as she is!) and then curling up on her new dad's chest for a little nap. Mia has been meeting lots of new friends and family and is a big hit wherever she goes.

Bailey

Bailey now lives in Amherst, Mass. She was a special 18th birthday present for her new mom and found her wonderful new home through the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass.

Libby

Here's Libby in the arms of her big--and beloved--sister Franny. Libby is so sweet and feisty and extremely smart. Her only bad habit is eating her own poop! (At least she doesn't roll in it!) Despite this one flaw, her family loves her very much. Libby was adopted from the Monmouth County SPCA in New Jersey.

Charlie is very energetic and happy and she loves to play with her sato sister Rosie, pictured below. She is thriving in her new home, which she found courtesy of the Monmouth County SPCA in Freehold, NJ. Rosie was adopted from the same shelter.

Rosie

Rosie is the very cool big sister to sato Charlie...pictured above.

Wylie

Wylie was adopted into a wonderful home, which is a small farm in the countryside with sheep and chickens, so he has plenty of room to roam, run, and explore. He is being introduced to the sheep slowly, because they are much bigger than he is. But he also has a nine-year-old canine sister named Jessie, with whom he is growing closer by the day. Wylie is whip smart and loving and his new parents say that he will be well loved and cared for for the rest of his life, which means the world to us.

Sargent Socks

Could there be a better name than Sargent Socks?? This lucky guy traveled to Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester, Massachusetts and found a wonderful new home where he is spreading joy. He is teething now so he loves to chew on his new family members, fortunately, they don't mind! They feel blessed to have him, he is their best friend.

Gemma

Gemma was given her new name because she is a precious gem...She also has her own Instagram page! Her new parents are very accomplished photographers. She is doing FANTASTIC! She is so smart and already knows sit, lie down, and shake. Her new parents say that she is a blessing.

Rosie

Rosie went to her forever home in early March from the Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass. She is doing fabulously!! She was just under 7 pounds when she first went home and now she tips the scales at 17. She loves going for walks, chasing her toys around, snuggling with her family on the couch and napping in the doorway while soaking up the sun. She is the most sweetest puppy!

Lola

Lola finds there is no pillow more comfortable than her dad/best friend's feet. Lola has overcome a rough past and now lives in Maine where she is thriving and making her dad very happy. She's happy too--she loves being outdoors, going for walks and car rides, and playing tug of war. She is a sweet and empathetic girl who is eager to please.

Lando

Lando has brought much joy and fun into his new home. Everyone adores him and he is a big hit wherever he goes. He clearly loves hanging out with his dad. Lando was adopted from the New Hampshire SPCA in Stratham, NH.
